  • Hi guys ! Does anyone know what is the best soundcard to use with Sonar 7 on Windows 7? I have a Realtek HD but it gives me sometimes static noise and cracks when listening. Is an USB interface better than passing directly through the soundcard ? I used before the Adobe Audition and never had any problem but I changed to Sonar

  • Please help! Two questions: I copied a guitar part from my computer but the timing is not in sync with the sonar drums. How do i get them to match up? Second, I have the guitar track and the sonar drums on two seperate tracks. How do i make a second track for drums when the chorus of a song starts????? THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!!

  • Can you take software synthesizers from other programs and put them into sonar to use the same way as the sonar synths?

  • Yes SONAR will take any VST or DXI soft synth. You use them the same way you would use the included synths.

  • is this sonar 7 or sonar 8?

  • I have cubase but don't like it much. i think i'ma try sonar 8.

  • i want to start recording my songs i make on my computer and i have windows XP i relly dont know where to start so if some one could help me out i would appreciate it

  • does sonar run on windows or is it just for macs??? is it better than reason 4???

  • windows, go with sonar, real easy and good

  • Sonar is Windows software.

  • its all about sonar. this is all i use now

  • Hey man, do you know how to convert audio mixes into other file types.. I can convert each track into (.wav, .mp3 etc.) But I can't figure out how to convert the whole mix.

  • Did you sort this? Two ways. One is highlight all audio and export... other is create an audio track as a final mixdown track, arm it and record so it records your whole song onto one track, then export that single one out... hopefully you've already sorted this long ago, but maybe this can help someone else out too...

  • Yes, I did, and I used the second way you listed. I appreciate the reply though.

  • Sonar just keeps getting better with time. Who needs Pro Tools with this line up! Only problem I have is I keep getting an awful seashore noise when I use some plug ins like ToxicIII or PoiZone. Irritating the hell out of me. Any suggestions?

  • Those are Image Line plugins and their plugins do that in demo mode. Only solutions is to get the full version.

  • that happens to me,,its the actual fl plugins as ive tried them in cubase and ableton and mixcraft and now sonar and it happens in them all,ive got a powerful machine and it still does it,id suggest you find korg legacy collection on a torrent file somewhere.

  • hi there i have a question . am using sonar producer 7 ? i need to figure out how to monitor the overall levels of all the channels to prevent peaking i had a look around and the master channel is not going up or down during playback. am i mising something ?

  • In SONAR all tracks can be routed to busses, then the busses can be routed to the master out. If you have all your tracks going to one bus (usually called master)and the tracks are clipping try turning them each down a little bit. Then add a compressor to the master bus.

    Hope that helps.

  • thank you .. i am sure it would help if i knew how to do it ? is it one of the options on the pop up menu by each track ? Also, i want to know how to send reverb to one track so i do not have to add reverb to each individual clip ?wld u b able to point out how to do this ?thanks so much

  • To route a send from each track, under the input selection of the track you are adjusting, theres is an output selection. Create a new bus, or use a preset. It will appear in the bus section of the console :)

  • I have a Line 6 POD X3 live module. Can I use this as an interface and is it compatible with Sonar 7 producer edition?

  • YEs you can. It will appear in SONAR as an audio device.

  • Is this software better than fl studio 8 and propellerhead reason 4? And can you import your own samples?

  • It depends what you want to do. If you wanta linear DAW then SONAR would be a great choice. If you prefer non-linear and working with patterns then FL Studio would be a good fit.

SONAR, Pro Tools, Cubase etc are linear like a tape deck.

FL Studio, Reason, Live and P5 are non linear or pattern based. So you build you song in peices.

  • explain LIKE TAPE DECK term please, im not following ya, but i do know how to work with separate patterns

  • The tracks are linear meaning you press record and perform. SONAR records what you do. SONAR does have a step sequencer which lets you work like FL Studio but not completely.

If you want to create a song in peices and arrange later FL Studio will be a better fit. If yopu prefer to press record and perform and edit later SONAR is the better choice.

  • do u have to have a midi pad to use sonar 7

  • No you do not. You can use any MIDI controller or none at all.

  • cool
