This video is biased and selective in its content.
The fact is that the Plantations were aggressive colonisation & caused 400 yrs of war, ref the 11years war &c. There was no attempt to assimilate as the Vikings and Normans had.
The planters were religious anti catholic fanatics who perpetuated and supported draconian penal laws against Catholics for their own gain. These persisted in the North up until the 1970s civil rights movt.
They still haven't resolved the problems.

Although scots have been settling in Ulster for thousands of years,the first mass plantation of scottish presbyterians was in 1606 when 10,000 scots settled in Antrim & Down on land owed by Hugh Montgomery & James Hamilton. The land was given to them by Con O'Neill in return for busting him out of imprisonment at Carrickfergus castle!
