I'm just 2 years older, but we come from the same generation when it comes to music. As I always tell my kids, folks my age are the lucky ones because our music was so much better.
This song brings back awesome memories of the Saturday nights in the old "Goth Room" in the back of the legendary "Barbarella" club in Orlando, Florida. Now called "Independent Bar". Those were great times!!
I bought this on Vinyl. Cost me a LOT! Now it's on a CD-single and I got that. Is this band still together? I know some 80s groups still perform. Am I hoping too much?
@robotypist Unlikely unfortunately : ( The members have families now and the leas singer works as a professor at a university in Prague or somewhere. We can still hope though!
Wow one week ago at least you answered the question. Cetu Javu was one of those great bands that should have gone alot farther in 80's industrial than they did. Just like several hundred of bands. The only difference is Cetu Javu created a lot of amazing club songs
bad ass; was in the air force at carswell afb in ft. worth; used to kick it at club clearview in dallas; used to hop planes and go to club numbers ; lo9ve tejas
It has my friend, it has.In a modern 21st century sound known simply as "synth-pop".By the late 1990s and the begining of the 2000 years, here in southern Ca,Industrial-gothic night clubs are the only clubs that have been playing synth-pop music usually in the back or 2nd danceroom.Bands like "Wolfsheim"(from Germany, think of Pet Shop Boys & The Smiths put together .) and "De/Vision","Fictional","LadyTron",etc...
@TheXtro101 Thanks - I will look for those bands -- I live in L.A. -- name someclubs where I find electronica, techno, trance and new wave music. I'll be first in line!
It's on a Razormaid compilation disc from the late 80's.Lots of new beat bands on there. Umo Dectic and lots more. Have it somewhere. I used to dance to this at Level V, Industry, Metronome and DV8 in Dallas. Great song from a great time.
I am so happy to hear the music that I used to dance my ass off to in Dallas, TX, the Stark Club circa 1989 to 1992. Razormaid versions of good club songs are a mixed bag. Sometimes great, sometimes "what the crap happened in the final production?"
This song is brillant. I was so pleased to get a copy of Soutern Lands a while back. Situations is their best song by far. I love the intro, the harmony is so lovely and the Melody. It's the kind of song that sends shivers down my spine, like Q Lazarus, they are a good band with there song 'Goodbye Horses, used in Silence of the Lambs. Lovely. :-)
good old times. Cetu Javu had this extraordinary feeling for mellow and catchy synthie lines. One of my favourite bands. Also love the B-Side "Quien lo sabia"
Thanks for adding this. We had a 80s theme party and I used a ton of music from youtube. This resource totally rocks, plus brings back so many great memories.
OK this is a total shot in the dark but anyone who likes this song might be able to help. I am a big fan of 80's first wave and I have on an old mix tape a song that repeats: You are the fallen angel, You are the fallen angel, you are the fallen angel where ever you are, (not sure of the next phrase but sounds like- minute to minute living in exile). Any 80's fans out there have any clues for me? I have been desparate to ID this for years. It has a dance beat, male voice- probably Euro. Have MP3
excelente tema . me hace acordar de mis vacaciones del año 89. como sonaba este tema el disco Mama Baker de San bernardo. mi dios que tiempos aquellos!!!!
I love this track by Cetu Javu (Are they from Spain or Germany.I tought they were german but sang in german, english as well as spanish.Maybe Im wrong.
1st I heard the song was on Live 105 in SF. Clubs: One Step Beyond in Santa Clara (AMAZING scene!), and The Vortex in Palo Alto CA. Still one of my favorite club tracks. I wouldnt be surprised if they influenced Music For The Masses with it ; )
I love this song and many thanks for uploading it. I prefer another version of this song, still by Cetu Javu but i think it could be a radio edit or something. Its around 4 minutes long and starts much faster and the singing starts much sooner while this one builds up more.
Oh Jesus, this reminds me of driving to parties in Azusa and West Covina in 1988-1990 with my friend, Jim Duval. Smoking cloves and wearing leather. The 80's was some good shit, man.
Thank you, sfsindee, for adding this synthpop masterpiece! It was, IMHO, Cetu Javu's best song. I remember a small independent radio station in Chicago playing it in 1989/90.
The rest of the album (Southern Lands) was great, too. Anyone who like this will like "Have In Mind", Cetu Javu's ode to saving the environment.
I don't know if you have ever been to Orlando, FL but there used to be a club there called Barbarella (now it's called Independent Bar) but they play this kind of music there on Saturdays and Sundays (80's Pop, Goth, Industrial) whenever I hear this song I think of that club
Heh, the reason I looked up this video because I heard it on one of the new 80's nights that popped up around the Orlando area.
At I-Bar, the Sunday night format was actually going to change to indie music, but it looks like they changed their minds and are keeping the 80's stuff after all.
Yeah I had never heard this song until I lived to Orlando. Every time I hear this song my heart melts because it reminds me of how much I miss Orlando & Barbarella (which is now called Independent Bar)
