Front row back in the day St. Paul. Cypress/ Pain/ and DOOBIES and I was high as a mutha fuck . . So funny too cuz cops didn't know what to do at THIS show so so so we just did whatever.
Best time I ever had at a show..like 15 years later n I still don't know how I got home but I remember high fiven' all those dudes! My little hot Italian wife was with me, remember? FUCKING BIGGEST BLUNT I HAVE EVER SEEN AND the Mexicans are going fuckin bananas!
@SoulAssassin1983 thats garbage. fuck vevo. censoring and having a 18+ for some shit is garbage. whats the point of an Artist's expression being censored, when you have the critics pouring the foulest, racist, closeminded, obnoxious, rude, or even personal remarks that they can out of there demon holes. fuck that. plus i swere when they censor, it fucks up the quality.
@mug3nfl0w whats wrong with people bitching about VEVO? the music/video is still on YT. We don't have to pay to watch it etc. If VEVO is next to their name makes them commercial in any way, because LadyGagaVEVO, biber have it too? I don't think so.. And if Funkdoobiest is making $ thanks to VEVO im very happy for them because Funkdoobiest deserve it. The only thing you can dislike about VEVO is censoring bad words... and thats about it. AD's from VEVO on the video? <- use Adblock Plus add-on
@sebastiansz you must not know or have grown up in society where freedom of speech is decapitated because your words were expressed thru the hood. hiphop couldnt come on until after 10 or 11 because of the content. its offensive. walmart censors cds. same concept. why would an artist make an album spend money. and have walmart remix it lol... dj vevo. fuck that. lets jus say i'd be much more convinced if people had the option 2 listen to it censored or not.
What happaned to his time of hip hop, every song had a message, EVERY single one, whether it was politically, religiously, or rapped about lifes hard times or your "Everyday Struggle". Beats were smooth, and had a flow, you either rapped about fuckin bitches while the cops were after you, or getting out of the hood and rapping why you can't or what happens. Lyrics were beast, sampling was perfect, 90's Hip Hop was PERFECT.
These guys have my seal of approval. Good to see that they made another album in the 2000's. Most 90's rappers fell off or went stale before the millennium.
@SW4TR3PP1N Naw man some did that...alot more got ate up by the politics and red tape and legal shit in their contracts and labels...Or got stale haha...It's a shame but it happened
@SW4TR3PP1N Most definitely, I was just saying not all of them went holier than thou for hip hop and their artistic integrity.ALOT of cats in the 90's got seriously fucked over to where they couldn't make "moves" anymore on the level they did before. Some couldn't keep up, it happens in anything. I think Independent is Raps future...The labels are b.s. as you and I know, Label politics are used to "nueter" our music creativity and diversity. Indie and U.G. is where it's at right now for sure.
the original beat is so much better, but still ill beat! ill song. i pray for the day when people will open their eyes and see that this is the real deal.
Funkdoobiest, is playing next Thursday 05/13/10 @ The Granada (17 S. first street Alhambra, CA 91801) show starts at 8pm and tickets are 10 dollars at the door. Oh my god.
Can we please listen to the old joints without the feeling of being at a funeral.
Reading posts under old school joints is like reading a eulogy--sort of.
"Oh rap is dead; it's so not what it used to be."
Of course it is not; this is a different time; our time has come and gone!
But I guess this is our way of dealing with it.
Peace,
