  • great channel!

  • especially tiamat is such a wonderfull band...

and finally a little publicity for my own band... we're playing also something in a goth-rock direction but have many more influences, listen to it here: playlist?list=PLACF0502405FA3EB9

  • @opticfibers actually a nice list of beautifull bands, and for me its not critical whether they are goth-metal bands or not, people from the blackscene will love them nevertheless (@Ghostblood1334 in the videotitle it says goth-rock/metal, most of the bands you listed are 80s Darkwave bands, some of them developed later to goth-rock.) but i really miss the great founder names of the gothic-metal genre, Celtic Frost, Danzig, Paradise Lost, Fields of the Nephilim, Tiamat, My Dying Bride...

  • I snb exposing myself in this darkness; it is of the devil. Outta here....

  • All these bands are NOT gothic, they are all mostly darkdoom metal, . This has nothing to do with the gothic movement. You are new to goth, how about try REAL goth for yourself? And WTF is Kittie doing there?!?!? At least you got Sisters of Mercy right. Try Bauhaus for starters, Christian Death, Seraphim Shock, Gothic Sex, Alien Sex Fiend, Switchblade Symphony, London After Midnight, Funhouse, Eva O, Fields of the Nephilim, Mission UK, Rosetta Stone, Bella Morte (old), or even Gary Numan...

  • dark tranquillity? Deinonychus? Haggard? Gothic metal, are you crazy? female vocals, synths or chamber orchestra don't made gothic metal

  • @lazlovlad I am not saying that all those bands are in genre.. gothic metal (but anyway, most of them.. are). What i am saying to those who likes gothic metal, that those are some good bands with gothic influences. (sorry for my bad skills at english. Is not my native language).

  • Toxic Society

  • I FUCKING HATE FEMALE FRONTED GOTH ACTS ITS ALWAYS THE SAME SHIT FUCK OPERA

  • @RE8978RETURN yeah even the rock seems to share similar style. Symphonic metal that people commonly mistake for gothic metal.

  • @RE8978RETURN You do realize "gothic metal" has absolutely nothing to do with the goth subculture right?

  • Comment removed

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS Yes i Know i'd dive into convo with you but I'm too fucking tired right now just saying tired of this symphonic female fronted pseudo gothic metal is all

  • fukkinawesomeness!

    thanx for sharing

  • I just realized its A-Z lol nice tho....

  • @ladydeath093 :-)

  • lol at first i was like what happend to sisters of mercy?? but then they poped out and i started laughing

  • Tristania

  • It's a good list... I must thank to Evanescence... thanks to Evanescence I found these bands.. First Eva, after Nightwish, Epica, WT, AF.... after Tristania, TSOTB, Sirenia.. last, something more black metal (CoF, Samael, DB)

  • Dark Tranquility is much more melodeath than goth metal. Nowadays, they're more

  • Nightwish? moonsorrow? sonata arctica ? wisdom? pain? nightwis? :P

  • i feel lonely anyone want to chat with a goth girl

  • i am gothic too and bored like hell if anyone is up for chat let me know

  • dark tranquility is melodic death metal

  • great collection of absolute shite.

  • why are you watching videos that you don't like? And why you are making comments on them? Is it a new kind of self masturbation?

  • Its exactly like masturbation, only the cum is splashing all over yer faces ^^

  • Anyway.., try to stop the masturbation and find a mate. Is healthier for your mental balance!

  • lol, why are you so worry about my health? maybe you wanna be my partner? I let you blow my load anytime :)

  • No my friend. Try to the navy!

  • well who would know the video is shit or not if they don't watch it first

though i have no idea to the second question

  • hey thanks for the video...awesome collection of artists there.

i'm a pretty big goth metal fan, so it's kinda funny to go through this video...it's like going through the lists of artists on my ipod :)

great collection! and gotta love the tristania song in the background (<3 vibeke)!

  • What's the song name?

  • The Shining Path - 1st track by Tristania's album ''World Of Glass''.

  • Thank you for this list!

Just a little question, whose song is playing at the background? I like it!

  • I can't see it..please tell me

  • Truth is always annoying for people like you! I am sure that you are a fan of your self and of your beliefs only! You like gothic rock, but doesn't exist gothic metal for you! Unfortunatly for you, Gothic metal existing for us, for the bands that they playing it, for wikipedia, for winamp, for metal archives and for so many others. So, let us hear some goth, rock or metal! As for you.. try to provoke another genre of music! Please, don't reply.. i'm realy tired! That was my last reply to you.

  • I supose it was Bauhaus. Man, i don't denied that the Goth came from Punk (as i already wrote you before) and that the firsts bands was in genre Gothic rock. The problem is that you believe all this stopped there and then. You are the one who denied the existance of Gothic metal! You are the one who trying to cancel all this genre and all those bands with the millions of fans that they have! If you don't like it, is something that i didn't care about.

  • I see that i can't teach you nothing, so i will stop trying. Try to learn the truth somewhere else my friend. This is a vid for the fans of Gothic rock/metal. If we don't exist then to who are you talking? Final.. i am not ''so goth''. I'm just like it! Maybe you are ''so Goth'', ''Very Goth'' and all the other psychotic craps you believe about your self!!!

  • The song throughout this vid is by Tristania. Ok, lets see.. (Tristania's Official web site): Tristania´s first full length album, Widow´s Weeds, was recorded during the last weeks of 1997 and released early 1998. The album is symphonic metal with elements from a large variety of genres, such as gothic rock.. oops, what was that?

  • Symphonic metal with gothic elements??? How can we call this genre?(metal-archives): Tristania - Genre(s).. Gothic Metal! (wikipedia): Tristania is a gothic metal band from Norway, formed in the end of 1996! (Winamp):Regarded as one of the worlds premiere goth metal bands! Are you still here?

  • Gothic in the newer musical history invates for the first time in the dues of 70`s. Ideologically connected with the punk it began in reality to find his own identity in the beginnings of 80`s. It adopts the diversity that vindicated punk, however it leaves away the torn clothes and pins. More flexible in the society it adopts a more anticonventional clothing. Gothic kept the punk playing way in the guitars, but with lower winding and intense distortion.

  • The form of growth of a group is similarly with a rock one but the addition of keys was judged essential for his atmospheric and melancholic acoustics. Phonetic usually are supported in bipolar brutal masculine and feminine lyric. As natural continuity this style touched upon also the metal scene which remains up to today his mainly representative.

  • Goth however is not something so much simply monodimensional. It is a way of regard of things and as per the centuries it influenced various forms of art thus and in the music it differently influenced from each other types, as new wave, industrial and other. Irrelevantly however with the type of music through which it will find passage, Goth, has two main teams that represent him.

  • More near to dark, to fear and to reality and one more near to imagination and tο mystery. Do not forget that Goth was found in his apex in the medieval where all these elements coexisted. From the one side the magic and the elfs and from the other one the holy examination with fire.

Many have combined Goth with the black clothes, the nails, the white person with the black shade in the eyes, the big crosses or the pentacles.

  • The truth is that it does not need you to be neither as Robert Smith, neither as Brandon Lee in The crow. Goth if it exists, exists inner you and not in your clothes. Goth is not fashion, you can wear whatever you want. It is not religion, you can believe where you want. It is not sexual determination, it is not the music, it is not the death.

Goth is this dark atmosphere in whatever you do in your life. The attraction and the search by and between our duality, the good and evil.

  • As for the history of Gothic,Europe emanating from a line of wars, in the dues of 13th and beginning of 14th century her rebirth begins. Arts, letters, culture. Somewhere between all these beautiful, a new current is presented little later, dark and melancholic, obviously influenced from the horror, the pain and the terror of previous centuries. It finds the right moment in order to be expressed mainly in the architecture but also in arts as the sculpture, the painting and the poetry.

  • As a thorn in the eye of optimism of renaissanced artists this current is named contemptuously Gothic wanting thus to lend him the characteristics of Bisigotthon and Ostrogotthon, the two German tribes that with brute, hard and violent way prevailed in Europe at the medieval.

  • Even if no one can say that this aesthetics was not answered and in other works afterwards the 15 century and the end of renaissanced years, it substantially makes a dynamic reappearance in the dues 18th through a new romantic current. Writers and poets as Horatio Walpole, Mary W.Shelley, Byron, Edgar A.Poe (you call them.. subculture!!!) but also a lot of others adopt this dark atmosphere and issues in written keeping Gothic live at the all duration of 19th century.

  • The pastime of so much big personalities with questions as the death, the coexistence of good and bad, the subjectivity of beautiful and ugly, normal and nonormal, will also influence other forms of art and expression. The demons and the fairies are again in the limelight, imaginative or real protagonists in histories and superstitions that were always whispered by ear in ear, were a robust background.

  • Somehow thus, between literature and mythology Gothic culture passes the door of 20th henceforth century. The humanity however, is found again confronted with the horror of war. The pain and the fear that was postponed through A' world war lend her once more the loss from the movement of romantic, atmosphere of terror. By this are mainly influenced literature and cinema which are at their early beginnings.

I hope that teached you some things about Gothic.

  • I am 38 years old. How do you measure Gothic? In Kg? In Km? In Kw? What's the meaning of ''very Gothic''? I supose you believe that you are a ''very Gothic'' guy! When you say such a stupid things like this with wikipedia.. you think that you are funny? After all, take a look at wiki for Gothic metal. I know, its embarrassing for you but Gothic metal exist!

  • I know a lot of bands that they will disagree with your opinion. Like Tristania,Beseech,Charon,Darkseed,Forever Slave,Theatres des Vampires and so many others. All those bands are saying that the genre that they playing is gothic metal. Unfortunatly for you, metal is the biggest reason for the existence of Gothic influence until today. As for that the Gothic is a subculture, i am sure that if Lord Byron was alive, he would disagree with this determination at once! You need to go deeper..!

  • Gothic has to do with a lot of other music genres and of course with a lot of other things! Gothic is a whole philosophy. Faggot??? How old are you and you are still voming behind your keyboard? 9?

  • You know nothing my friend.. and your are not so clever as you believe! Search at least at wikipedia articles about gothic metal.
