People think all great whites have come straight from the Jaws movies. It annoys me how people go around scare-mongering and trying to get some attention because sharks are getting mauled for no reason. South coast of England is swarming with sharks from May to September.They come up in the gulf stream.

I beg to differ there are many sharks in UK but Grt Whts or indeed large Mako sharks have been reported in scientific journals all over UK in a massive amount in last 12month. These type swim on sea bed undetected until they breech vertical to kill prey. Unfortunately a seal prey look like a swimmer to them from below. They strike in low water and yes only bite once but once can be fatal.

These pictures reveal two intances at least of people killing GWSks they are very rare now. Worldwide 100 million sharks are killed each year by humans - so they have more to fear. Look out for Sharkwater on your movie screens soon. It's about time Great Whites made a comeback though this seems unlikely as they get slaughtered deliberately and accidently by the most dangerious creature of them all.

I heard bout gag order but i not obey. I am an Oceanologist. The warmer water indeed, 3 x jelly fish an more seals in UK have attracted Grt Wht. Also in Spain, France etc. Grt Wht lik to swim in 3ft of water, as wi Kil Whales an sneak up on seals (swims/surfers look lik seals to them fr below) sorry to alarm. I too laugh at it all but them I dnt swim! I go in boats an subs!

Come to Cape Town people disappear in the sea all the time, you just gotta be careful. Im not gonna go running through the Kruger National Park at night bcos i will be eaten by a lion and im not gonna go swimming off seal island bcos i dont want to die. Sharks don't even like humans flesh, they only bite you once but if they do come back for more they are either saying sorry or are retarded.

This is appalling. It does nothing but spread the misconceptions that sharks are merciless killers bent on eating people. This kind of propaganda is especially dangerous in places like the uk where most people don't know anything about sharks and it serves only to exacerbate the prejudice against them. We are in danger of wiping out this speceies that has been around since the time of the dinosaurs... wake up... we are more dangerous to sharks than they are to us.

It was a BASKING SHARK in Cornwall anyway, I went out for 7 days in Oz on a special trip looking for whites, we never saw 1 and thats where they live!!! If there were 1 here you'd never see it, suckers

I thought a swimmers worst nightmare was losing your swimming costume in a wave. Sharks are not a problem, your simply punch them on the nose and if they're being really aggressive, poke them in the eye.

These pictures reveal two intances at least of people killing GWSks they are very rare now. Worldwide 100 million sharks are killed each year by humans - so they have more to fear. Look out for Sharkwater on your movie screens soon. It's about time Great Whites made a comeback though this seems unlikely as they get slaughtered deliberately and accidently by the most dangerious creature of them all.
