This is sad. This poor couple is so sweet, trusting and kind. When Shirley said they had a superior attitude, she was accidently correct. They do have a wonderful attitude. They seem like the sort of Christian people who would sincerely welcome a person into their home and enjoy visiting with them. I'll bet Shirley was offered something to eat or drink while she was there, too!
I really hope these people received the help they needed. Shirley really was mean to these people.

Shirley Sherrod saved the Spooners' farm. Sherrod's father was murdered by white racists in 1965, with witnesses, and the county would not take the killers to court. In spite of that experience, and in spite of whatever feelings she may have had, when this white farm family came to her to help, she did what needed to be done to save the Spooners' farm.

Racism, if you look at any academically accepted definition of the word, includes the existence of a power structure where one race is given advantage . The same test is used to differentiate sexism, or ageism, as for racism. Could you argue that since Sherrod was in a position of power that this could be construed as racism? Possibly. But she helped the man, and is clearly the victim of breitbart's racism here
