i guess this guy got his own quite talent not bad at all..but i must say dont try to immitate somebody..every one of us are having unique talent..do your own style not duplicating others shit..i am also a drummer i believe in my own self ability,,watch- thekilleo -channel
Excellent work. Timing is slightly dodgy in a couple places, but I couldn't play that fuckin shit! hehe. Notice you do the same thing as Tomas where you ghost 16th notes with your hands while accenting where the beats actually are. Do you find this makes it easier to play such fucked up polymetric rhythms in Meshuggah tunes? Respect! Nice one!
The best cover of this song on YouTube. Have you tried posting this on Meshuggah's forum? Or Haake's? I'm sure if they saw this he'd give you a shout.
I could get really nit picky, but that would be me just being a dick. As I haven't attempted to play any of Meshuggah's songs. Haake's beats are amazing, and you did a grand job sir. My advise to you, would be to play in flatter shoes or even barefoot, you'll get a better feel for the pedal. 10 out of 10 though man!
@ultimate47 this guy are duplicating others,,he got his own talent ..it would be good if he made his own style skill and not immitating somebody..i am adrummer i have my own ability..i can show it to the world...
@billySFTC yes men i do...that is why i am not only being realizing it..! if you do some cover you just have to get the main details..not to done it so perfectly.. but accurately..as much as you think if it is possible..
@gscaseydrums yeap you were right man it' s a shame for me cuz I know this song for years as "Chasophere" the same name with the album thanks really :)
Therefore, Bleed might be easier (with the exception of the more polyrhythmically challenging riffs such as a the 5-5-3-1-3 [27/8] one) for the majority of metal drummers with no previous Meshuggah experience. Judging from the fact that is debate is taking place in the comments section of a meshuggah cover video, I would assume that you are both drummers with heavy (or some level) of polyrhythmic experience, therefore TMLWYB seems a lot easier than it is to others.
Well actually it all depends on one's drumming style and experience. The reason Bleed took longer than all the other songs (for Haake) is because the other songs are all rhythmically challenging and polyrhythmic/polymetric as balls. That's Haake's style and therefore he's used to it and good at it. Most typical metal drummers are just really fast and endurant at extreme double-bass speeds, but never tried insane polyrhythms like those in TMLWYB.
Out of all the drummers on youtube that cover Haake, I think that you are the best. Yeah, you say that you can't play Bleed, but the way you play, and how solid you are, means just as much.
could I request this song on your acoustic kit with only a simple room mic? you know, just a like a camera mic but no distortion of course.... dry close mic doesnt give you a fair sound, this would sound ridicilous good if I were in your room, great man : )
awesome dude, one of ma fave songs, when mixing your stuff, try to compress each channel a bit to make it pounding and throw in lets say a "roomworks" on the whole track, makes a crazy difference.... btw Ive have played on haake´s "chaosphere" kit, the best sounding kit Ive ever put ma hands on : PPP
Fucking awesome man! Great work! Covering Meshuggah says alot about your capabilities as a drummer. I don't know you at all but from what I've seen, you seem to have the skill to really make something out of your drumming! I'm surprised to hear that you're not in a band! I'd hate to think about all that talent going to waste! :P
Thanks for the awesome cover(s) and actually mixing your drums properly. Too many people half-ass these videos and try to cover it up by mixing real low.
it's physically impossible to play this song with one pedal. At least in order to play it loud and clear with no trigger or barely tapping the bass drum head doing heal toe.
i play ALOT of heel toe and i have found that you really need a pedal set up the right way to do it. so far i've only been able to do it flawlessly on my own pedal out of the many i've tried.
@uni555 I bet you could if you like tried parts of the song slow, then sped up over time and put them together. Youre a good drummer, you could do it. (: That method is how i learned it anyway.
This song is harder than Bleed, at least from a rhythmic standpoint; the only Bleed riff that's really difficult because of it's polyrhythmic nature is the fourth one (starts at about 2:30). I can cover the whole song on guitar, but I understand the drumming just as well so I know what I'm talking about.
@cmakproductions the physical demand of bleed makes it harder than this song. tomas haake said that he spent as much time learning bleed as he did on all the other tracks combined.
@cmakproductions you're an idiot. this song is not harder than bleed. learn the patterns in this one and it's pretty easy to do. bleed patterns are easy but physically tough to perform.
yeah actually. if you look closely when its switching camera veiws with the fade out thing then you can see the flashing lights where his eyes should be. my respects go out to whoever programed this mean motherfucker of a drumming machine though
No time for a band! It's you avocation not your day job... I suffer from the same dilemma but your dilemma is a closet genius drummer - "do I do this for a living a or not?"
Your awesome! I wanna see you do bleed. LOL. I know you can do it. But get some new stuff on here. Heard of Threat Signal? Do some of their stuff. That would be awesome.
Man, this is absolutely fantastic! The beat NEVER made sense to me, but of course, I'm not a drummer ;-) Anyways, great cover, favorite Meshuggah song!
