  • ;) ehhyy what is the name of the song??? ;)

  • Mint 11 FTW

  • Linux Mint 11 works ok, 12 is shit

  • is this gnome?

  • @ajcortez06

    Gnome 3 I do believe

  • @Deggaren I do not get the people who say that. MATE is included with Mint 12 and this looks and feels exactly like Mint 11 did.

  • Love the music man..

  • Gnome 3 is the worst thing that ever happened to Linux Mint. I (and I know lots of people who) downgraded to Mint 11 only because of this. It doesn't make any sense what so ever to have two taskbars!! What did they think? Gnome 2 ftw!

  • windows xp <<<great win vista<<<<sucked win 7<<<<pretty good ----switch to linux ubuntu<<<<good kubuntu<<<<<ehh mythbuntu<<<<Sucked xbuntu<<<<My favorite and why is this my favorite you can customize so much to make it look good and you can make it looks like win 7 if you wanted to as well as making it look like ubuntu and the best part is its fast!!! Even on lower spec computers.

  • The mate interface looks like a mix of KDE and Gnome 3. Too weird.I miss the time when Gnome 2 was in almost all the Linux OS

  • Can you disclose the title and performer of the song you used in this video? It's so great that I've started to think about getting Linux :)

  • I hope one day windows become a history.

  • @lincaorain that'd kinda suck, windows is usefull but only for gaming

  • @lincaorain i doubt thats gona evere hapen.... ther is way to many gamers out there. and windows is the only gaming frendly os out there right now....

  • It shares same package with Ubuntu.

  • is there a software center like ubuntu?

  • When you upgrade between versions of Linux Mint, is there a Ubiquity option for "Upgrade" (e.g. you leave your data in place during the upgrade)?

  • first todo when u run linux mint : - disable memory cache and set a large swap partition on harddisk even u play a cd live os linux mint

  • I hate to work with two menu bars in a desktop, one bar is enough

  • @MissileBoy I agree, it's overkill

  • @MissileBoy cant you delete it ?

  • @MissileBoy just drag the top one to the bottom or the bottom one to the top, then it feels just like one bar :)

  • @Krakophyst really? that's a good tip !

  • I cant install the 5.1 audio :(

  • Love the music. So many Linux videos have really crap music, you click in, ear polution, go to the next video

  • @AshilanRulez thanks =)

  • it looks better like a desktop should be like

  • So Beautiful♥

  • @menniepals You should know that Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu? ;)

  • @JohnnyKS5 still it is much better ;) ....much user friendly ;)

  • Nice one! Much user friendly than Ubuntu.

  • Well nice video, but linux mint doesn't fit for me... I deleted it 30 mins after installation. I had struggled with some issues, I hate spending time by trying to find out how to make work one or other program, I need PC just for internet, movies.. Linux platform is waist of precious time.. That's just for geeks in my opinion.. But still it looks cool, beautiful environment.

  • @Eimantasks Well I don't know what your problems were but I just installed Mint 12 on my "noname" Toshiba laptop today and it works without any hiccups. Everything is preinstalled I need like flash, vlc player, etc. I just installed Chromium, set my bookmarks, set my wallpaper and voila, everything just works in the first touch. If you only need it for internet + movies then I don't get what could be your problems besides hardware ones. You want to install something, open the software center.

  • @Rokalacs I have a Sony Vaio, I am happy to report I have no problems at all with my mint. The only initial speedbump i had was with the ATI driver not playing nice with Gnome Shell but I am just using the x default now and it's working great. thank you for your input.

  • can you make a video on how to upgrade from mint 11 to 12 ?

  • @456thevineeth Are you running Mint 11 now? I usually recommend a fresh install with a DVD or USB stick via unetbootin and especially so with this release since MATE and Mint's new version of Gnome Shell to avoid breakage or other problems, it can be a gamble to upgrade through the update manager when a new release comes out and I have paid the price before with a broken system. If use use unetbootin make sure you format your flash drive to FAT32 format first to avoid problems =)

  • I agree. A fresh new install is the best way to save time and the save way. Just make a backup of data before installing new s.o.

Gnome3 on Mint 12 really looks cool!

    Greatings from Barcelona,

    Miquel.

  • @TheMiquelUbuntero Thank you!

  • @456thevineeth if i can, i will

  • Hoher Verbrauch von CPU Ich hoffe, durch die Anwendung zu erfassen. RAM Verbrauch nicht verstehen. Nun, ich denke es liegt daran, dass 64-Bit-Version.

  • Mint men scrollbar doesnt work still??

  • @yooyoomine I am pretty sure it does now, the trackpad on my laptop makes using the menu scrollbar kind of tough.

  • Is it in virtual machine? i played with mint in virtual environment and after that installed this one-two weeks ago on real machine and deleted after 5 minutes cause it was so unstable..

  • @yooyoomine No I have it installed on my laptop

  • nice video. whats the song anyway ?
