good song about Colorado i was born here and raised here just think 15 years ago i would go six miles outta town and be in the middle of no were now when i drive to the same place its full of summer homes by a bunch of rich douche bags who are only here 3 months of the year
John's music and his down to earthness kept a lot of us sane in the 1970s. You can deride it as puerile, but in order to be real and positive, he took the risk of seeming childlike or childish in his values. It's called innocence. Being human. He did it, and I respect him for it, the same way I respect Joe Strummer for his honesty.
FAR OUT!!!! It is so amazing to go back and see and hear this song in the beginning before everyone knew it (and JD) and to just hear it in its pure acousitcal form. What a treasure! That song is what drew me to Colorado and I'm proud to say that it is our second state song!
Indeed it is! I have followed JD all thru his life, and now, as a member of one of Denver's few folk duos that performs many of JDs songs, it's one of our most requested!
My 'partner in crime' was instrumental in helping Guv'ner Ritter make it our best-known stat song!
I saw this show the day it was first broadcast and I was amazed at the pure talent of John Denver. After the song Johnny was visibly stunned by the performance. A rare reaction considering his many guests. Digital sound and pixelation do not provide the full experience of how powerfully it was delivered. To sing and play with such command is a true measure of a musician. John earned much greater respect from me that night.
Thanks for this video! But what comes next? Please let us also the following conversation between John and J. Carson see/hear !!! Again, Masassa: I'm soooo glad you're back !!!
God never blessed a voice more than that of John Denver!

John was always overlooked & underrated as a guitarist, songwriter, and singer. This is awesome.

John's dear mother, Erma passed away on Jan 17. She's with John now. RIP Erma. You gave John his gentle soul. We will miss you both.
