Not posative But I do believe the high pitched wine your hearing is your flying wires. Sounds awesome! Ive heard this on several Pitts and Eagles.

That was an awesome flight in a great looking bird! The engine sound has a whistle to it, is it turbocharged?

@pdutube No it s not turbo charged. The noise you hear is being generated by the airframe somewhere. My belief is that the noise is made by the engine breather / oil air separator outlet tube, located under the fuselage down near the tail.

@stitspilot Just the standard 180hp Lycoming. Its odd you mention this because from "inside the office" it does not seem to be going up that far, then you look at the video and think "man thats got penetration !!"

Hi there UK Pitts - Smoke system is from "Smoking Airplanes" Smoke oil is Shell Ondina. Hope this is of interest to you. Check out Smoking Airplanes web site for further info.

Hi Wally, Thank you for your kind comments. The A/c is a home built S1S, imported from the US into the UK in 1960 (I think !!). And it does have a 180hp Lycoming. I take it you have a Pitts also. Where are you based?
