No, I just recognise that lovely aeroplane from loads of aviation magazines. Btw - most blokes would just be happy to pull ANY bird; what's so special about geese? Anyway- I'm game...
Great Plane & stick handling...and make sure you use the same person on the video cam next time as well !! Great job by both of you !! Thanks for the post. The Only way you could possibly make it better next time,
would be to TAKE "US" UP WITH YOU !! : ) That's a Very Suggestive HINT. lol
@pdutube No it s not turbo charged. The noise you hear is being generated by the airframe somewhere. My belief is that the noise is made by the engine breather / oil air separator outlet tube, located under the fuselage down near the tail.
@stitspilot Just the standard 180hp Lycoming. Its odd you mention this because from "inside the office" it does not seem to be going up that far, then you look at the video and think "man thats got penetration !!"
@s1spittsdriver i took a ride in a s2 what an ride ! will never forget it . did tail slides ,hammer head , flew upside down ,and did a low high speed pass down runway...
nice video , im going to an A&P school here in miami and my airframe profesor he got 2 of this baby 1 is a s1-11b super stinker and the other one is a s2a factory built and hes hangar parner just test flight hes s1 ss las sunday what a beauty im planing to get one my selft in thge near future whent i finish school
I LOVE aerobatic planes, and the Pitts Special is my favorite of them all. Your video captures what it's like to see one fly, as well as some interesting bits from your POV. Well done!
Hi there UK Pitts - Smoke system is from "Smoking Airplanes" Smoke oil is Shell Ondina. Hope this is of interest to you. Check out Smoking Airplanes web site for further info.
Hi Wally, Thank you for your kind comments. The A/c is a home built S1S, imported from the US into the UK in 1960 (I think !!). And it does have a 180hp Lycoming. I take it you have a Pitts also. Where are you based?
What a fantastic video, simply awesome. And the Sound of the engine, just took my heart away. You definitely are a lucky guy bro. I will wish you get a spitfire 2 seater one day and we both will fly in it. You will fly, I will record the video :) or may be I can get chance to control the plane too. I pray you get so damn rich overnight that you send me your Pitts S1S as a gift :D Amen :) 5 stars bro.

Not posative But I do believe the high pitched wine your hearing is your flying wires. Sounds awesome! Ive heard this on several Pitts and Eagles.

That was an awesome flight in a great looking bird! The engine sound has a whistle to it, is it turbocharged?

Looking good on Sunday. Sorry to be in `your patch` too murky to the East where I usually play.

What kind of horsepower do you have in this. I love it, it climbs like a rocket. Pitts rule!

Cracking video, thanks for posting. I sold my Pitts last December and am having withdrawal symptoms.
I saw this aeroplane at Fenland for the Don Henry Trophy (I think) a couple of years ago - very nice.

Nicely flown! Is it a factory S-1S with 180hp? I liked watching the slip-to-landing. Perhaps my pitts flying will be as good some day.
