  • I drove down that road one time seriously scary road.

  • How many more copys of this video do we need?.another 30 or so should do.

  • If it hit your car it would be covered by comprehensive.

  • damn, I'm headed to Deal's Gap/Tail of the Dragon Sunday. Hope nothing like that happens while I'm riding it!! My poor Busa might get scratched... that would be heart breaking

  • Looks like it's closed now... Their saying till September 1st!! Hopefully it's a typo the the gaps website.

  • rofl cool

  • OMG What a Fluid Movement How Facinating to catch it on video!!!

Thank God they moved the digger!!!

    WoW

  • Holy landslide!

  • that mountain hates rednecks

  • Now we'll be able to do some Creekin' at the put-in.

  • What happened to the backhoe?

  • I go back and forth between Nashville and Franklin, NC. going south to Dalton and then to Ellijay is the better route. The way tha TN DOT want you to go is 2 hours out of the way, The road over Fort MTN is mush better the US 129. Motorcycle run that route and they some thing cross lines. They have at least 5 people have died there this year

  • From my personal experience, it's the people in cars and trucks that cross the center lines mostly.

  • THE ENTS ARE MARCHING TO ISENGARD

  • That's the best comment ever about this rockslide!!! :)

  • Damnit, that got the raft putin. I guess winter rafting will be a real adventure this year.

  • I was on my way from Cherokee to Chattanooga and ran into this. I went 68 South to Elijay and over to Dalton then took 75N to get to Chattanooga. Was a nice drive (long) but there were some beautiful towns I would never had seen.

  • Really lucky noone was hurt, that would be death if you're caught in that.

  • If you listen carefully you can hear the earth shout: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"

  • haha too much lord of the rings on you mayne!

  • did any rocks fall in the river ?

     and nice video !

  • Sucks for everyone who lives there, and thank God no one got hurt, but damn if I could stop laughing when he said, "the mountain has came off.." in such a monotone voice.

  • I know. I laughed at that myself.

  • I know! Hilarious.

  • OMG!!! MIRACLE nobody was hurt!!! hope it's cleaned up soon.

  • Wow, crazy to get something like that on film.

  • My five stars are going to Jesus on this one! It's a miracle no one got hurt.

BTW, NOW can we get a by-pass?

  • Will Federal Highway funds (taxpayer $) go to cleaning this up?

  • I'd assume so. This is U.S. Hwy 64.

  • look at that huge boulder at 0:36

  • Dude yeah I'd be willing to bet that thing weighs somewhere around 10,000 tons.

  • I drive through this gorge twice a month.... I might just try going from Ducktown to Tellico Plains, Tn instead... Probably be a while before they are able to reopen road. I hope they inspect and possible remove other nearby hazards. There are two very sharp and dangerous curves where if you meet a long truck trailer coming from the opposite direction, they usually cross over the centerline, and the curves are completely blind with a rock wall on one side, and the river on the other.

  • Quicker way would be probably be to go to Ellijay 282 to Chatsworth then 411 back to 64

  • probably shorter, i have been that way but the trip over Fort Mtn between Ellijay and Chatsworth is slow and curvy like US 129 along the Little Tennessee River -aka Dragons Tail- I almost get car sick driving those two roads-LOL

  • Thank God they were able to get everyone out of the way! That slide would have easily pushed the jackhammer-crane into the Gorge.
