  • The begining must have inspired a lot Harry Potter's theme song !

  • @Zingouli

Yes, I also have thought, that there is similarity. We have played a Harry Potter-Medley with our school-orchestra some years ago.

  • Beautiful composition of Mendelssohn's. I've been wanting to learn this piece since my 2nd year of piano but when I reached the level to play this I forgot to ever bring this piece to my instructor's attention. Now I'm learning it and this is the 1st recording I've listened to since I decided that : )

  • @NemoProkofiev551

    Thank you.

  • beautiful music, giant Mendelssohn

  • @beethomozart

Thank you once more for your interest and appreciation.

  • Wunderbar!!!

  • @Computersam

    Danke!

  • very lyrical.....what a piano do you play? Its a very celar sound....

  • I play a Grotrian-Steinweg grand, length: 2,26m, built in 1980. In my dictionary I couldn´t find a translation for "celar", but I personally think, my Grotrian has quite clear sound. Thank you for your kind comment.

  • @musicusblau

celar - clear... hmmm, was your comment ironical or did you really not notice 'celar' might have been a typo?

    Schöne Aufnahme!

  • @arneperschel

Thank you! Oh, I really think, I haven´t noticed then that it could have been a typo, but know it seems very probable to me, my English really isn´t the best. I´m sorry about that and thank you for this advice.

  • Exquisite. I haven't played this particular Song Without Words, but I'm now going to take a crack at it. It looks quite difficult.

  • Thank you for your kind comment and interest. Yeah, it´s a quite demanding piece, but it´s a great pleasure to practise on it IMO. I wish you much success with it. All the best

    Andreas

  • my favourite composer.

  • Fine.

  • Wonderfully played!

by the way, what is the difference between the words "ohne" and "kein"? doesn´t both mean "without"?

  • Thank you! "Ohne" is "without", "kein" is "no".

F.ex.: he has no car =er hat kein Auto.

But: he came without his car=er kam ohne sein Auto.

  • thanks a lot! =D

  • Great !!!

  • Thank you!

  • wonderful interpretation. *claps.

  • Thank you for your kind comment!

  • i feel that your crescs (last part of bar 4 to first few notes of bar 5 and the like) sounds more like accents than crecs. Try not to break up your rubato too much. Other than that, your interp is nice keep it up.

  • That´s a matter of interpretation and taste, but thank you for your kind feedback.

  • Beautiful! I loved it, especially the end.

  • Thank you!

  • por favor quien es el interprete!??!

    who plays that??!

Una de las mejores cosas que es escuchado en mi vida por dios! todas las felicitaciones tambien de Argentina!

One of the most beautiful things i have ever heard! Congratulations also from Argentina!

    Emilio.

  • I do play this piece on my Grotrian-Steinweg grand-piano.

I´m glad you like it. Thank you!

  • I like it too!!!:):):

  • I´m very glad about that. Thank you so much!

  • well...I always feel that people who can play the pieces like this is unbelievabe. it is a mission mpossible! even i have passed grade 8.

  • Oh, it´s not so difficult. It needs some concentration and many hours of training, I think.

Thank you for your kind comment!

  • Fantastic interpretation!! Really great, clean and expressive! The mendelssohn piano music, and chamber works (with piano) are jewels of the pianistic literature.

Mis más sinceras felicitaciones desde Argentina!

  • Have my heartfelt thanks for your kind comment, pabloj08. I´m happy you like it!

  • the beginning has to be more agitated, and furious but however you play the major section well

  • Thank you for the comment. I think, to play the begining more agitato is a matter of taste, but I´m glad you like the major section.

  • this is you playing?! Wow!!! Thats amazing. You really have a gift.

Isn't Mendelssohn just great! Unfortuneatley, lost of pianists overlook him.

  • Thanks for your encouraging words. Yes, Mendelssohns "Songs Without Words" are a treasure, which could be discovered by more pianists.

  • Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment. I have played all 48 Songs Without Words and I will record new ones from time to time.

  • Great job!

I'm quite a Mendelssohn's lover, and those songs without words are so beautiful and delicate that not everyone might be able to play them as they deserve to be played like, but I must say you've done an amazing job with it. This is worth listening to =).

I would like to ecourage you playing the piano and overall Mendelssohn, you've got a lot of potential and such an acurate technique and sensitivity =).

  • great job!!

  • sounds a bit like harry potter!! :P

  • Thank you for your comment and interest!

  • Really good! =)

Sorry, I am not a good classical pianist so I'm not able to give any helpful comments.

Anyway, great work! Really liked it

  • Clear and convincing rendition of this both lyrical and brilliant piece. The tempo IMHO is

correct; if one plays faster, how can respect the "cantabile" required at a certain point? And the sound control (also here eccellent and with subtle dynamic modulations) is the first thing here.

  • Thank you very much for your encouraging words. Yes, I choosed the slower tempo here, because I wanted to bring out the articulation (also staccato) and the cantabile as well as possible. (And "agitato" is a relative word, isn´t it?) So, I´m very happy about your comment.
