Sorry, the amplifier was the very heavy and solid Dynaco 400. At that time one of the very best and strongest. The inrush current was huge though ... You could buy it for half price as a kit at that time!

The shop became dark! We had to replace the fuses and turn on this big amplifier first and then the other stuff. Then we played Thelma Houston day and night! Really nice to hear it again, although with less sound quality. (But anyway one of the better on YouTube.) Thanks for bringing back these memories motownboy!

  • Wow it is sooo good. Nice to hear it again!

I remember when I worked for high end HiFi shop in about 1976. A sound specialist came to us and said: Now, I shall play something really special. This direct-to disc cut Thelma Houston disc. An LP at 45 rpm to get best sound quality. We took the shops best turntable and loudspeakers. Connected them to the demonstrators Dynaudio (at that time) huge kit built amplifier and switched it on.

-Bang! The fuses of the shop´s electrical system blew!

  • nicely done video love the transitions.

    good job.

    Nick!!

  • Great. Is she related to Whitney I wonder? Anyways cool. Thumbs up. I like it. Cheers ΛNDЯÉ BERLIИ [ΛB►]☺

  • @BaerchenprinzBln No relation, according to Wikipedia. Thelma had more class than Whitney can even dream about.
