  • about how much does something lke this run you?

  • @Specialized1993 Probably about $420.00-$520.00. That's about the price range I've come across.

  • Yeah will add this to the collection this year!

  • It would be nice if they could make this gun with a matched set of barrels, one being 28 inches (as in the "Hunter" version of this gun) and other being short barrels like the tactical version. That way you could use the same frame for both uses.

Alternatively, just buy one each of the tactical and hunter versions.

With either approach mentioned above you could maintain full familiarity with the weapon for either defense or shooting sports applications.

  • @massmanute

that makes a lot of sense, I agree

  • This is the perfect gun for home defense,in my opinion. The only drawback of a pump/semi auto is if you leave it fully loaded, the internal spring takes a set after a while and it won't feed. and with this gun there is no danger of short stroking the action. Also several companies make shell spacers that would allow you to use 20 gauge buckshot in the 12 gauge chamber, which would be great for a smaller female who might flinch at the recoil of a bigger gun Thanks for the vid, great quick overview

  • I live in Nevada and I go to the gun store pick out any rifle or shotgun I want , fill out a criminal background check form, then a 5 to 15 minute wait for the check to clear. I then take my newly purchased firearms home on the spot ,no waiting or cooling of period. all in less than half an hour. pistols I can do the same, except I have to register these through the county sheriff.

  • Keep the top barrel full of buckshot and the bottom with a brenneke.

  • I like it!!!

  • @superkillerking23 you clicked the video

  • That is a sweet little BOOM stick.

  • why are all these short double barrels going with the single trigger?

  • If you find out more about this gun, post again with more info, good video...

  • Say what you will but the combination of the old double barrel and the more modern features like the rails and the fiber optic sight makes me happy inside.

  • @mrkiky Same here. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for an O/U shotgun. This thing just screams weapon light and reflex red dot sight.

  • is there any advantage to an over and under as apposed to a side by side position of the barrels?

  • @MannyJazzcats

It's easier to see with O/U

  • @MannyJazzcats Correct. And some people feel they can 'lead' a moving target better with an O/U than they can with a SxS. Plus, under some (extremely limited) tactical conditions, you can fit an O/U thru a small vertical slot and still use the sights, where a SxS would have to turn sideways and lose use of the sights. Good vehicle to carry in a vehicle or while backpacking (if they put a sling on it). Short, light, handy.

  • @MannyJazzcats O/U looks coolerXD

  • Was it sawed off? The muzzles look like shit

  • @VicariousReality7 your face looks like shit.

  • ... evil features Are described by the tyrant that want to eliminate our liberty.

  • Very Good review by someone who can speak clearly and

not stumble over words, etc. !

FWIW+, Cabela's just sent out an email with a price of $440.

While GW d/n mention it, their copy states: "top tang safety", zero,re choke tubes

and their link goes only to the 5 various Moss. tactical, 500 pumps !

  • I didnt know Mossberg did a over-under.

  • Will it shoot slugs?

     GW

  • @Sharberboy

    I assume so

  • @GunWebsites Thanks, I didnt know what barrel would shoot slugs.

  • 3.5?

  • I wan't one

  • stoeger double defense vs. maverick HS 12 tactical

  • Does it come with adjustable chokes?

  • @msmit105 If all models are the same, the one I saw in the store yesterday had removable chokes. I didn't ask the shop owner which chokes were installed and if it came with any others though. I handled it in store and it seems like a nice, lightweight, maneuverable shotgun.

  • @msmit105 .... You can get the version with adj. chokes

  • @whatever7x7

Why is having two shots, at semi-auto speed, in a light, maneuverable shotgun, a "freeking joke", in a home defense situation?

Do you really imagine you'll ever find yourself in a pitched, running gun battle, across your living room?

One shot, and someone is either on the floor dieing, or running away.

  • Anyone know if you can take off the rails?

  • @rightsman123

I am sure you can, but they make a model without them which is probably cheaper

  • how does one trigger & 2 barrels work ? is there a barrel selector switch or is it

    1st pull = 1 barrel & 2nd pull = other barrel ?

  • @uconnapharm

    yup

  • @uconnapharm This O/U sg has a single trigger which operates the barrels individually. First press fires one barrel, release, second press fires the other barrel. The trigger action is very quick and the whole sg feels "right" in your hands ~ solid, well balanced, lightweight, barely-legal-short and very maneuverable. Another winner from OFM, but my local price is over $500. I'll stay with my OFM pump gun for that money.

  • does it have auto hull ejector? it would mean a whole lot if it does

  • @siddepoo

terminology aside.. there is very little info about these online

  • @siddepoo To Answer your question without sounding like a dick or like im making fun of you for asking a question.. no this gun does not have auto hull ejectors, only shell extractors for manual loading and unloading, not ALL o/u's have auto ejectors, there is a guy named TheGscott2013 who posted like 5 vids of his maverick on here and hes practically breaking the thing trying to get some extractors to eject his shells, I believe he thinks thats a trait of o/u's to blow the shells out

  • @siddepoo Also i can see where ejectors would be a benefit, but honestly for a gun of this nature its really not necessary, having to move my hand 2 inches to pull out 2 shells really isnt a hassel and i dont have to worry about them hitting me in the face, This gun is very fun to shoot fires great as far as quality goes, the one thing i noticed is there is a safty mech. internally that once the gun is upside down or on its side a lock slides forward locking the trigger untill put upright again

  • @jeremybeaner

This is just my opinion, so ignore if not applicable:

When you are hunting, you want to be able to pull out the shells and put them in your pocket so you don't litter. So you want it to extract, not eject. Also, if you get a failure to fire, you can open the gun and close it up again, and shoot again, which is a little safer than ejecting misfired but live ammo.

For HD, you want the hulls to eject.

Now, if only it could be both...

  • @stoobers1 unless youre doing a tactical reload after your first shot, then I wouldn't want them to eject

  • @siddepoo But thats easily removed if you dont care to have that happen, at first it feels like the trigger is just jacked up but its not just flip the shotgun upright and the lock slides back out and your good to go, overall this gun shoots great for the money you cant beat the quality. shoots just as good as any condor or Baikal, these are the shotguns in that price range which neither come in synthetic.

  • Awesome!

  • Atleast this doesn't have the hideous 50BMG break or fake suppressors that Mossberg places on their shotguns. What were they thinking???

  • That is an ugly O/U! LOL

  • true for those of us where pump and auto shotguns are restricted these tactical double barrels are our only option.

  • i think i just found my first gun im goin to buy

  • i like the quality of this video keep em up

  • I dont see it on mossbergs website

  • @C172Pilotdude

It's a Maverick, b7 Mossberg.. they separate the brands

  • @C172Pilotdude

It isn't on the maverick website, either.

  • It's silly but I think it's pretty cool

  • I love this concept! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a tactical themed 30-30 or 45/70 lever gun to come out some time in the (hopefully near) future.

  • I used a Stoeger side by side for SASS competition and it was a poorly made and engineered fire arm that I would not be happy betting my life on. This one looks the business. Not sure why anyone would want to be limited to a two shot response though...unless local laws force you into the choice.

  • Looks like they made the barrels thicker walled at the muzzle, a good idea for a rough use shotgun, though a bit unsightly.

  • No one cares weaponmaker guns are cool, people like guns no matter what

  • Looks like something you would see in a science fiction movie. Pretty cool.

  • I hate how they change original guns and call them tactical because they are black and have a few rails

  • They should extend the picatini rail to the muzzle so that people can mount pistol bayonets on it. More than useful when there are only two round capacity.

  • Why does the muzzle look like it was cut with a chop saw?

  • technically it does have a pistol grip but not in the way everyone thinks of when they hear it. they need to make a tactical side by side and i'll scoop that bitch up right quick!

  • was that rust on the end of the barrel?!!

  • Hell, I want one. Anybody know the MSRP?

  • I never thought of people that are not allowed pump actions and whatnot. I guess I was thinking about just the US market to much. Here, I do not see this being that great of a deal. For the price, you can get a pump action, but in countries that do not allow such things, this would be a great option.

  • nice Skeet Gun

  • Thank you Mossberg! we can only have o/u or sbs shotties here in Australia no pumps unless ur a freaking primary producer, even then u have to provide proof as to why u need a Max of 5 rnd pump shottie, thank u thank u just gone on to must get shopping list

  • @TheDishD If I had to limit myself to a 2-shot SG, this would be the one I would carry. Hard to explain here how "good" this SG feels in your hand ~ lightweight, well balanced, solid, very reassuring. Even in the dark this would be a 'natural pointer'. The action is smooth, the lockup is like a bank vault, and my only complaints are no sling swivels and the price, which is absurd here. I could buy 2 or 3 usable pump guns for $500USD. This would make a great camp or trail gun with a sling.

  • A double barreled tactical shotgun, right........ Guess you can throw tactical into anything these days.

  • This whole tactical fad needs to stop. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way.

  • Dont know what about you guys, but im liking this weapon.

  • great!

what a fine piece of equipment from MOSSBERG!

  • would be cool to have. thats the gun the friends can use

  • For the sporting clays operator, lol

  • Why is the muzzle unfinished? It looks like they cut it off with a sawzall and left it at that. It seems like a good idea for people that live in states that seem to want bad guys to have the advantage.

  • LOL....Tactical smactical...Thank God I dont live in one of those states...

  • Is it just me or does this video look and sound better than normal?

  • @Mrcaffinebean

    Seriously?

This one is filmed with the slow motion camera (Not our normal ones) cause thats all I had with me at the time, and I added the audio later

I figured people would complain about the quality / focus issues with that camera (like they usually do)

  • @GunWebsites To me the tint seemed better and the audio clearer. Maybe I have been watching to many SHOT Show vids.

  • @GunWebsites You know how it is, there's just no pleasing some people. LOL

  • @GunWebsites The audio quality is x10 better. Use this camera please!

  • @GunWebsites actually does seem better. go figure.

  • @Mrcaffinebean its cause there is a mossberg on screen=3

  • @vampire847 LMAO!

  • @Mrcaffinebean its the lighting, i think. looks like a natural lighting. either way i'm just glad they do what they do.love the videos.

  • I suppose to those restricted but for the rest of us, I don't think so.

  • a modern day blunderbust. i want it

  • Does anyone make mounts for double barrels or over/under shotguns? I would just like to keep the styling of a wood stock.

  • Does anyone just make the mounts for the light or red dot?I just ask because personally, I'd prefer to keep the styling of the original stock.

  • looks pretty sick, but no one is scared of the sound of a clink. everyone is scared of the sound of a racking shotty. pump fo sho.

  • awesome looking O/U, but the biggest setback is having only two shots to work with.

  • I like the idea. its not impractical as it seems either. 2 rounds of 12 gauge in blink and reloads just about as fast if you practice. my uncle could reload a o/u so fast once a game warden thought he had removed the magazine plug on a pump shotgun.

  • schwarzenegger aprroves of this gun.

  • That's nice! I great home defense gun for those under said restrictions, and probably a blast at the range, or even just something a little different for some wingshooting.

  • AWESOME LOOKING SHOT GUN !

  • if someone had told me about this yesterday I would have called them a mall ninja and left.

  • @thatguyfrommathclass forgive my stupidity but whats a mall ninja?

  • @gunsmith93 urban dictionary has a great definition. as to the stupidity, the fact that you've never heard (or been called) the phrase is probably a good thing. oh and if you find the original forum posts, they're a pretty good read.

  • I know it's not practical for home defense when u have other options, but dammit it just looks cool, and I want one!

  • @GunWebsites I have the Stoeger Condor Outback O/U 20 gauge shotgun (20 in. barrels / overall length 36") for home defense. Also, as mentioned by @bmxscott Stoeger also has their Double Defense tactical coach gun version. Took my shotgun out to the range and it shoots like a champ.

  • i think its cool.

  • what is the msrp on this firearm?

  • its a nice concept but it would look so much better if the rails where a little more low profile, but i will stick to my 870 and s12

  • I want one. It'll go perfectly with my "Tactical" Monocle and my "Tactical" Top had and cane.

  • pointless

  • that's interesting. but I am still stuck on wanting more sxs. I had an O/U about 30 yrs ago, and it just wasn't "me." Thanks for the vid!

  • @usframe I'm a bit old school too. I prefer my barrels SxS, but this one does look very usable.

  • @usframe I am with you. The only O/U I have ever liked was the on I had when I was 13. It had a .22 on top and a 410 on bottom. It was my favorite gun. I still don't remember what happened to it :(

  • @peicemakerSS22

where do you mount a light to that coach gun?

    How about a red dot?

  • @GunWebsites Look up the Stoeger Double Defense Shotgun they didn't have a problem mounting the light and red dot on a sxs, but they are definately both intresting to say the least.

  • @GunWebsites Look at the Stoeger Double Defense. it has rails before optics and lasers or lights.

  • @GunWebsites why would you need a red dot sight when firing under 10 feet?

  • @GunWebsites Well actually there is a "tactical" side by side.

  • @GunWebsites You would buy the Stoeger Double Defense side by side. It has rails for a light and red dot. These tactical Fudd guns are a little silly. I would think your standard Remington 870 or similar gun would be a much better choice.

  • @GunWebsites Stoeger double defense.....

  • @GunWebsites stoeger double defense. has the rails for light and scope. plus it is damn mean looking. if you ever get a chance check it out.

  • @GunWebsites wo i never seen a tatical under and over looks cool tho but if people usaly break into your house you would only really need 2 shots unless they got more than 2 people then i would be fucked with that gun

  • @GunWebsites

Stoeger makes a "tactical" SxS with rails for mounting a red dot and flashlight

  • @GunWebsites

Red dot on the top rail.

    Light on the bottom rail.

  • cool gun

  • Taklekem overonder NO!!!!

  • lmao

  • is the receiver steel?

  • LOLWUT

  • are they gonna make one that is just polymer for skeet

  • :D

  • That would be a nice hunting shotgun.

  • I really like that integrated rear sight on that picatinny rail!

  • wow, i live in the uk so most shotguns need to be o/u but does anyone know the price!?

  • @howmuchforthebabys They don't need to be. Under a standard shotgun license, you can own any type of shotgun, O/U, side by side, pump, semi auto etc so long as they can only take two cartridges in the magazine, meaning maximum capacity under standard licensing is 2+1.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Whats the point of even bothering to have a semi or pump them?

  • @orbitofdoom16 Virtually none, and that is precisely the point! Those who pass the laws seem to think that if it is semi auto or pump action, it is primarily for 'evil' useage. Shotgun licenses are only granted for recreational purposes, so clays and hunting is all they can be used for. I would only want a pump action for the sheer novelty of shooting clays, with the great feeling of cycling the action. It would really be a hinderance with simultaneous pairs, but still enormous fun.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 I have many good things to say about GB, but I cry when I consider your restrictive firearms laws. Many of them seem arbitrary or capricious to me. Most Brits seem more responsibly level-headed than many of us Yanks (a generality, I know) but they're not allowed to protect thmslvs with firearms? Canada & Australia too! I'm sure a lot of "wild west" jokes are made about us here but it sure feels right to be able to go armed and know you can face what life sends your way.

  • @FLSHBK1 It is indeed a shame that they are so restrictive, but it is possible to own many different varieties of firearms. It still remains our right to posess a shotgun, however for other firearms (and indeed some air rifles) it is solely a privilege, with many hurdles inbetween your application to be licensed, and the day when you are permitted to finally go out and buy one.

I envy your right to bear arms. I hope to one day join you lot over in the 'wild west'!

    Cheers

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Quite right. I know lots of immigrants here, many of whom moved to the US primarily because they felt "beaten up" at home and longed to be able to defend thmslvs and their homes if necessary. One of their first questions upon arriving in the US is. "WHEN can I legally buy a gun to defend my family?" It's a Right which we Yanks must never take for granted or lose. The individual right to defend one's own person, family & property is purely fundamental and just. Cheers back!

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 (PARˇ#1): And just FYI, the procedure for us Yanks to own/carry concealed pistols in neither very lengthy nor difficult, either. In our local jurisdiction we apply to the police for a permit. After a background check to ensure we're not looney or criminals, we take a brief class, pass a test, then demonstrate that we can hit man size targets at conversational distances without destroying the neighborhood. Once we get a local permit we can carry concealed in that area (CONTD)

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 (PART#2): which usually means your city, town or county. Then we can further apply for a state permit which allows us to carry concealed anywhere within our own state. Many states honor their neighboring states' permits, but not all do. Laws are changing NOW to allow pistol permits to be honored in ALL states, so you can travel cross country armed (the way it should be). Slight differences btwn states' laws are common, but this is generally true for all of them. Cheers!

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 yes but most places will not let you shoot if you have a semi (in my area at least) and most clay pigeon shoots you need a o/u just so its safer and oh, that's a shame about the length, thought it looked a bit short but anyways thanks for telling me and extra thanks for not trolling like most people would :D

  • @howmuchforthebabys Interesting, can I ask in which county you live? I have honestly never come across limitations on the type of shotgun used. The general 'issue' cited about semi autos and pump actions, is that it is not always immediately obvious that the firearm has been made safe, unless they display a breech flag, which is the general rule if you use the pumps/semis.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 i love in the uk, london and i heard that semi's are only really used for controlling vermin and not pigeons or clay pigeons as people like to see them broken, its not strictly limited just frowned upon and some may say no

  • @howmuchforthebabys Interesting. The only firearms used for professional vermin control I know of are high powered air rifles and .22LR. Shotguns are not really ideal, unless of course you are talking about rabbits/some bird species. You are correct, some may dislike semis due to the difficulty in obviously demonstrating that they are unloaded, but they are commonplace on all the grounds I have shot at, but I have never shot within London. Much like camo kit - some don't mind it, others ban it.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 we used the shotguns for squirrels, about 10 of us go in the wood and shoo the drays (spelling?) and the squirrels will run out and we'll pick them off, they are very difficult to get any other way

  • @howmuchforthebabys The barrel is also too short under UK laws.

  • @howmuchforthebabys Btwn $350-$500, depending on where you get them. Oddly, they are most expensive in CT, where OF Mossberg is. Maverick Arms is in Eagle Pass, TX on the Mexican boarder, and is a subsidiary of OFM. OFM sends the stamped/registered receivers from CT to TX. The parts are made abt 5 miles away in Mexico and assembled in Eagle Pass TX, making it an American gun. The whole operation used to be owned & controlled by OFM ~ don't know if it still is today?

  • lol tactical elmer fudd....i 2nd that.....

  • For the Tactical Elmer Fudd!

He gonna get dat rascaly rabbit 2X!

  • @machineguntongue

Onwy if he don wun outta buwwits!

  • what are they going to make next, a tactical musket??? LMFAO!!!

  • @monkeypoo3000 already want it, lol

  • Actually, there allready is a tactical musket, based off the AR-15. Seriously, the tactical musket came first :3

  • @monkeypoo3000 tactical derringer! #LOL jk

  • @monkeypoo3000 I know what you mean. I was looking at a tactical AR platform crossbow not to long ago, lol.

  • is the lever to break open the action made out of plastic?

  • @xb100 Absolutely not. It's gun steel and very solid. In fact, the ones I've handled were very stout and locked up like a bank vault.

  • Sweeeeetness

  • I love O/U shoguns compared to side by side, I just think they are classier looking. especially if they have the classic wooden stocks etc

  • Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

  • Looks like a nice little shotgun !

  • i love it!
