  • it was jus an update

  • noting happened to mine :P

  • does this happen everytime ?? Sorry I'm confused and wondering about buying a zune 30 and putting the new software on it since my Ipod touch is gone...=[

  • no this only happened on new years eve. it was a glitch with the internal clock adjusting to the new year

  • the same thing happened to me !

i charged it 3 times, and it was frozen.

BUT, when i used a new charger, it miraculously revived itself ! haha.

you should try that, if it's still like that (:

  • microsoft cant even make an ""ipod""

    lol

    zune is still cool

  • holy shit, mine did the same thing...i thought it was broken at first.

  • in my point of this is just for the 30gb zunes since they are out-dated so i dunno why

  • why was it for the 30GB only? i have the 80GB so will it effect my 80 or not?

  • it was just some piece of hardware in the 30gb. It was also in a few other (non-microsoft) players.

  • It wasn't hardware ar all. Programmers forgot to take a leap year into consideration and never programmed and extra day into it, so it froze on a day it ddn't have programmed in. It only froze when people plugged them into their computers and worked again when it knew a date it could work on (Jan. 1, 2009).

  • yea this suck my zune frooze too! What am i supposed to listen to now a cd player? How

    90's

    lol

  • I had a great New Years eve, Jamming my 160 gig iPod classic as I hit the parties. ;) Zunes can be killed by the calendar settings? That's just sad.......

  • i dont now about you but parties have their own music you shouldnt be jamming to any mp3 player on any party occasion

  • Maybe I like to hear MY music? :) Thats why we have music players, if I had a Zune my only program New Years eve would have been the "sounds of silence""

  • Mine is WORKING NOW!! I just plugged it in because it died & its working fine now :D

  • So does that mean we have to wait until the battery drains out? until when?

  • my zune works now so yours should too, recharge the battery and its gonna be back from the dead

  • mie didnt i recharged it 3 times and 9t still have the lodaing screen i dont want to buy another one do i just let it sit cause eery other tie i foole around with the buttons, do i just dont touch it , let it die and recharge it again and i have my zune back ???

  • I mean no offense but this was gonna come sooner or later, epic phail, sorry guys but ipods pwn. happy new year everyone + microsoft

  • Eh, I tried draining the battery and recharging it, and it didn't work -_-

Now I'm gona let it sit for a day or two to let it run out completely, which hopefully may do something at least.

  • phew...

  • the zune 30 meltdown!

  • My Zune has the same problem as you!! It got stuck in that same screen!!

Luckily the battery already died.... so I just need to wait after Jan.1

  • wow what the hell you mean to tell me this is happening to everyone who owns a Zune 30, wow for a second i thought it was just happening to my zunes

  • APPLE FOR LIFE SUCKERS!

  • Looks like a perfectly good looking microsoft product to me~!

  • this all happend just becuz of the fuckin leap i cant believe what i am hearing

  • a bug in the internal clock driver related to the way the device handles a leap year. That being the case, the issue should be resolved over the next 24 hours as the time change moves to January 1, 2009.

  • Hello,

here in mexico have the same problem with the Zune.

I hope everething goes better for 2009

  • Dude, its a leap year and Zune doesn't have this day (day 366 in a leap year) programmed into it. Everyone should just chill out because at 12 tonight it will start working again. It's no big deal.

  • Is that the problem? Just ONE calendar mistake?

  • Just ONE calendar mistake...

    :)

  • But won't this happen EVERY leap year unless they repair it? I mean, most people probably don't expect to keep their mp3 players all that long especially younger users who can upgrade each Christmas, lose it, or break it. But as much as these things cost they SHOULD work as long as we take care of them right?

  • Yes and most likely they can fix the problem in the next Zune firmware update. So all should be well! :) If they can't fix it via firmware update we still have four more years to wait before that kind of thing happenes again anyway.

  • cool im not the only one who believes this.

thats what im doing for my zune letting it die and wait till 09

  • yeah mine just happened the same thing 2 days ago.

  • is that really the only problem? i think microsoft would have figured that out by now and just told everyone to hold tight.

however, that would be nice if that was the only problem
