  • worst part was what???? didnt get what he said

  • The best thing about getting a colonoscopy is the Demerol and Versed! trust me I you will want those drugs and the versed is great hilter could be your best friend!

  • Well ... it was done today. My sister and I arrived this morning, to find our next door neighbour waiting for the same procedure. LOL!! I checked in at the day surgery at 9:45 and was taken to the endoscopy area just before 11:00. The doctor was delayed. It was supposed to take place at 11:15 but I wasn't taken in until 1:00. We were back home by 3:00. I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Chin on January 28th (they don't give the results there)l. I feel great!! :o)

  • I took my second round of prep about an hour ago and I take the last one at midnight, followed by a Fleet at 8:45 tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital for 9:45. I'm looking forward to having it done and over with. My father died of liver cancer that started in his colon when I was 23. I'm 44 now and have experienced some issues so I figure it's best to get it checked out.

  • Thanks for posting. Your video got me through as I was doing prep last night. 40 years old - did it to assess the reason for a blood clot. Didn't see the doctor afterwards.... just a nurse who gave me a written write -up. Don't remember a thing. Had a tiny bit of gas today and a bm after I ate lunch but nothing major....

  • im having a colonoscopy in 10 days, im only 28 but i have a very overcautious doctor. luckily i don't have to drink that solution stuff. i just have to take laxitives and down a whole bottle of mirilax

  • im in recovery now...just wondering what my next bowl movements gonna be like..but i wasnt shown any pictures or even see a doctor after which sucked, were you a private patient?

  • Great video, I'm having mine done on Monday and was really worried about any pain associated with the procedure but your video put me at ease about the whole thing. I'm 52 now but my father died of colon cancer when I was 17 years old. I guess technology wasn't that advance back then. Thank you for the great video and information. Joe

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm having mine in about 10 days. Viewing your videos helped put me at ease a bit.

  • I'm having mine next month and I decided to have it without sedation. I hope I won't regret that decision.

Thanks for the video. I'm already looking forward to drinking that 4 ltrs of crap water.

  • Thanks for the video. It helps me realize I'm not alone in this.

  • Thank you haveing mine 8-14-08 blood in stool also no movement every 3-4 days wish me luck thanks agine

  • good luck i have those symbtbs what was it

  • Thank you for this video. I am having my colonoscopy tomorrow and I will be starting my prep in a couple of hours.

  • diahrrea comes out of my colon, i went to have a colonoscopy, but the doctor discovered i have blockage issues. he said that i have had had too many long hard things in there, and it had torn some of the tissue. baconater.(spicy) con queso

  • Had mine today. My colon had more twists and turns than normal so the Doc had a real hard time getting the scope all the way in - believe me he tried. The nurse was pushing on my gut while he was shoving it in - ouch! Not bad though. I was alert immediately afterwards and walked to the car - but got sweaty and nauseous on the ride home. I laid down for an hour, then I felt just fine. Now I have to have a barium enema so he can see the last 6 inches he couldn't get to. Don't stress - it's easy.

  • Thank you for making this video. I'm trying to get up the courage, but more concerned with the anesthesia. Great chronology!

  • Just a quick thank you for this very great video...I felt a lot more comfortable after watching your videos. The hardest part was the preparation the night before and going to the bathroom so many times in such a short period. If someone out there is having second thoughts about this treatment...It's not as bad as you imagine it to be. Go for it!!

  • thanks for the video, in just about five hours from now I will be having my colonoscopy. So far so good, just keeping close to the bathroom. Your video was helpful!

  • yikes..that was bigpooper 28...hehe

  • My son is now 29 & was diagnosed with Crohns disease when he was 10. I think he's had about 10 colonoscopies...he's doing fine & just had his last procedure on friday. I enjoyed your 'mature' take on the procedure..you might want to view at 29 year olds view..I'm thinking his name here is pprpooper28...it's all drama..glad you have a good outcome tho.

  • I had a colonoscopy yesterday what a wuss having sedation . you dont get that in the uk ,its over and done with in no time , grin and bear it. and how sad to film it are you wanting to be on er

  • i am 15 never had 1 but this man helps out people by letting tnem kno it isnt a big so shut up

  • dude this guy is just trying to help out people by telling them and showing them that colonoscopies arent that big a deal

maybe you chose not to have sedation because you like poles with cameras at the end of them stuck up your ass idk

but just shut the fuck up

  • I am going for one tomorrow morning , What derug do they give that makes u so sleapie ? U prob said it in your film , but forgive me I have not eatin since Sunday Night , And It's Now 3 pm Tuesday

  • I'm VERY disappointed with this film. It only shows prep time and post procedure. There's nothing about and "an excelent colonoscopy." I wish you had put your camera up your butt, so we'd know what's up.

    Irondoll, SF, Ca

PS You want to eat greasy stuff!? That's how you ended up getting the procedure...silly man...

  • Idiot, most colonoscopies are routine procedure to screen for colon cancer, which is why this guy is having one- it's the most health-conscious at-risk patients who are having their procedures.

Also, the prep- and post-procedure are the majority of the experience of having a colonscopy done, and are the parts that people worried about their own procedures want to see. You misinterpret the title, you get disappointed, go whine elsewhere.

  • Is that colonoscopy music in the beginning?

  • I HAD A COLONOSCOPY JUST LAST AUGUST 28, I'm only 29 but had symptoms of rectal bleeding, abdominal discomfort and bloating for the past 3 months. Also, we had history of colon cancer as well that prompted my GI to have me under the scope.... the prep was awful than the procedure itself....! Don't remember anything .... but the results was NEGATIVE for COLON CA

  • that video made me feel better.. thanks.. cuz im going for a colonoscopy tomorrow and im nervous.. but im having a hard time gettin this nasty drink down!

  • I'm going for colonoscopy on 20th Aug and I'm a little nervous!!! thanks for your posting it sheds a bit more light on the whole thing!!

  • Good luck!

  • @LollyLouLa It is nerve recking because I'm suppose to go for one I'm only 33 cause I've been having stomach problems and there is some people in my family that has colon problems. I called up my medical insurance company to see if the general anestesia is cover to knock me out and nobody can give me a straight answer. If it's not I will not get it done I have to be completely knocked out or I will walk out and I have an anxiety disorder and mental

  • Your video helped me to be a lot more at ease before the test after hearing all the negative story's but now I know it was no big deal and hopefully more people find this out and take the test as it can save lives.

  • Hi I had it done today the only thing that hurt a little was the shot the next think I knew they were telling me it was all done and did I want a drink of water. Nothing to it

  • Glad to hear it!

  • @RocketManF4 what shot?

  • great film, well done sir!

  • I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy awhile ago and didnt remember a thing! its not that bad.

  • interesting stuff! i usually have a colonoscopy every year due to ulcerative colitis. its not been a good year tho, and i've had 2 since last july, plus a sigmoidoscopy! and another due in a few months!!

i managed to get a copy of my colonoscopy last july and put it on youtube hehe :) *NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!*

  • I am 33 and really do feel like I need a colonoscopy, but the powers that be at the insurance company probably will not pay for it because I'm under 50. Any advice on how to convince them to pay for it anyway?

  • Hmm. Not really. If your doctor believes you need one, maybe that would be enough to trigger insurance payment. Good luck!

  • tell them you notice that you have blood in your stool. Or tell your family doctor that you have family history of colon cancer. You can say your uncle or aunt has colon cancer. YOur insurance will cover it.

  • When's the sequel?

  • Not for five years, according to the good doctor. I don't mind saying that was good news. It will give me plenty of time to perfect my surgical podcasting skills!

  • "We could see that your bowel prep was good..." It was worth it just to hear those words and the pictures to match! Glad everything went well!

  • Perhaps you have removed some fear from others who face a similar experience. As Martha would say...it's a good thing*S*

  • I'd be happy if that were the case. I know making these videos helped turn an experience I was dreading into something creative. Thanks for your comment.

  • btw, i think i forgot to tell you congratulations on a good report...*S*
