  • Damn! I thought my house was on fire once your alarm went off! I jumped out of my bed and started looking around me wildly... until you declared that your house isn't on fire!

  • On move 42 white missed a easier win with: 42. Rc8+ Kxd7 43. Rxd8+! Kxd8 44. Rd4 winning the knight

  • KC, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one: chessgames.c o m/perl/chessgame?gid=1023029...

  • Rook ot B7 = end of game here. With hindsight hack the knight off, cover b7 and try to weather the central pawn storm?

  • After that opening black seems in no shape to attack anywhere. White controls the center with 4 pawns and great pieces. The only thing I would go for is a bit e5 control to stay alive :p difficult.. Thought Benoni was dynamic

  • You cant play chess with the alarm going off around you. I've tried to play chess with kids around and its impossible.

  • at 9:04 wasn't there the next continuation: Bxf3, gxf3, Nh5! , attacking the f4 pawn and the g3 square? Ne2 doesn't works because of Rc2, Be1 also fails: Rxe4 is there anything to stop losing a pawn?

  • @DaniloBolleman Yes good idea. On post mortem Bxf3 is the best way to go with maybe equality or even tiny bit better for black:

  • @DaniloBolleman Btw if Nh5 then Rfc1 holds everything

  • @kingscrusher thx i missed that one.

  • 17 .... Qxb2

You are lucky he didnt see that beautiful knight on a4 and trap your Queen ;-)

  • @Twomoredays Isn't there Qc2 there

  • I was actually watching this game live on the ICC when it was being played, so it was kind of neat to watch this video. Both versions were equally dismal.

  • lols i went off to check my alarm !

  • 21...Bxf3 is better than Bd7

  • thanks . nice that you post a loss for once. I think you might have missed something in the middlegame as your position was quite promising .

  • that was pretty dismal. i was depressed and i wasn't even playing.

  • ok, just checked with computer. its hard to suggest something better, the position called for Rcd8 and was difficult to play, oh well , nice game.

  • @biernico In the future could you please include the move number? I always look at the analysis and I don't like having to go through the whole game. Nothing huge just a thought, thanks.

  • Rcd8 seems anti positional and passive... will have to check it...

  • "okay, house is not on fire... yet." ^^

  • "Tragic news tonight: The house of well known programmer, chess expert and Youtube personality Tryfon Gavriel has burnt down. His oven caught fire when he somehow missed to take out a delicious cake, despite his alarm clock clearly signaling dinner was ready. 'I was playing my favourite King's Indian' was his only comment."

  • u lackd enthusiasm tody i gs.

  • Ah, an opportunity to learn!

  • lets check why this game went bad.

    - 2 alarm clocks

    - 3 fire alarms

    - hungry stomach

    - lovely smell from the kitchen

Nobody can focus on a game of chess under those circumstances!!!

And I gotta admit your chess spirit is something extraordinary. "House is not on fire yet, carry on" says it all :D

  • Why not take with the rook at 14:16?

  • @SilverAbsol777 because of Nxe7, winning a piece

  • @SilverAbsol777 Bishop on e7 will be left hanging after the exchanges I think.

  • @SilverAbsol777 was wondering that also, but it looks like after rook takes pawn, then black rook takes white rook, knight takes rook, there's knight takes bishop check for white at the end, leaving white w/ knight and rook vs knight?

  • @SilverAbsol777 Then you lose a bishop

  • is that your fire alarm in the background?

  • somehow your voice was not that audible today.

  • Oh, the pain of losing :-)

KC, from the first move your commentary lacked the enthusiasm of most of your other games. I would attribute that to the loss. Get back on the horse!
