  • sorry, there is no way that evo was racing. a completely stock evo9 dyno's at about 220-230whp. so even if it was untouched that evo (if racing) was to be atleast side by side with the s2k. now u claim that the evo has a 20g. lmao. untouched that would be about 235-250whp (running slightly lean on top) the evo would've def pulled on the s2k. i have a 03evo8 with int/exh and i make 300whp easily. my bestfriend owns a ap1. haven't had the chance to check it out as yet. but it's a pretty sweet car.

  • id pick the evo any day... i do have an 06 evo mr se, im spikking at 26 and tappering down to around 23 on stock wga. stock tune you are looking at somewhere around 17 to 19 psi

    the S2k is a nice car but i wouldnt drive it, comparing the two seems to be unfair anyway, one is a family four door salon while the other is a small two seater with a LOT of power under the bonnet

  • First of all, out of the box both of these motors have a peak threshold of around 400whp in stock form with proper tuning.  I don't think anyone would disagree that the 4g63 probably has an advantage do to the fact that it is born as a turbo motor. There are examples of f20/22c's out there running over 500whp on stock motors but they are few and far between.

  • your excuse when a less class automobile beats up on the car, when you guys rave about how race ready bla bla bla 9,000 RPM bla, autocross bla bla... if they were SO uncomparable then why in the world are the two cars so often on the track at the SAME time unless it is a official event? The bottom line is, at the track stock for stock... EVO and s2000 are close, drag, not even close, dyno, not even close, dirt, snow, anything besides tarmac...

  • maybe im not fully getting what you are saying but, when SAME poweroutput Evo vs s2k in drag race(not from dig ofcourse), s2k will win. lighter, better aerodynamic, less wheel to distribute power, better topend gearing.

  • 10yrs is freaking long yrs since it was originally hondas anniversary car that was only meant to be produced for 1yr. but instead of 1yr, it went for fucking 10YEARS!!!!. that guarantees how desirable, well built, and popular this car was. evo still goes on? LMFAO they change trim and model of evo like every 1-2yr. s2000 had very minor or minimum change during last 10yr. it basically had no change beside .2displacement of an engine. also, s2k domintates auto X and NA 4cylinder class on tracks.

  • Thats why they do run the same amount of boost still right? Of course alot of boost doesnt always mean alot of power, but it does help. 14psi vs. 28psi. Huge difference.

    Any real race that is official, the evo will win. Racing from a roll doesn't prove much, just power to weight ratio and different gearing. Who has the fastest track time at buttonwillow? An Evo or S2k? Who has a faster 1/4 mile time? Who races in road courses and rally? Who can carry 5 adult passangers comfortably?

  • I'll agree with out a little bit... BUT Boost levels doesn't matter.. THe size of the turbo matters. For Example.. Stock 9 Evo turbos need to be around 24-26 PSI to hand with a GT35R stock evo at 16-18 psi. Now if that 35R was at 24-26 The Stock Turbo 9 would get it's doors blown off.

    I love both cars but 4g63 is a true Champ.

If the S even had a 16g on the same PSI as a stock evo (18-19) it would still destroy it. My S with gears can keep up with a stock evo, I have no boost. Evos are garbage. Face it. "Dumb Fuck"

  • uhh with a head gasket a stock f20c can push 25+ lbs. Wow you really do not know anything do you? Without a head gasket (compression reasons only) I have seen 16lbs on a stock f20c. My evo has a DP, full exhaust, boost controller, and hks 272 cams btw. You really know nothing about cars do you? Evo fanboy

  • you dont have an evo. 16lbs is no where near what evos can do. When I say stock, I mean not even touching the block period. not opening it up to add anything. I've seen 25-27psi on a f20c with 700whp. but it was built obviously. 27psi is decent, but not comparable to an evo.

  • is your s2000 stock? being a honda engineer, i do love hondas but i don't know if it's faster than the Evo 9 MR. i've driven the s2000 and know it's ins and outs but please do tell what is modified. even though it gets only around 20mpg from a little 4 banger, it's still a great car though. :)

  • Either get your s2000 checked out, or stay out of vtec. Mine gets 30+mpg on the regular.
