This piece is so easy to play yet so hard to play.

The technicality is a piece of cake but it make it sound good and sound emotional is FREAKING HARD!

I would suggest slowing things down a bit and as you said, portamento. That should be very slow also. Very gradual.

Very nice sound, but far too fast! The metronome mark is crochet 50 ; it should be very lyrical and rather langurous. This sounds beefy.
