  • I prefer Starkey and his style to Paul or Lennon. But he was just a different breed than the other three. George was more like Paul and John, but he was also a very different artist away from the band.

  • This song is brilliant in its own way, if you know what I mean.

  • I love the middle-aged boy wonder! Thumbs up if you get the joke. :P

  • 24 people ran out of air before they got to the octopuses garden.

  • Did Ronnie Milsap take this song and rename it back on my mind again?

  • before ringo the beatles had another drummer but his mom thought that they would not make it,in fact ppl blieve that the other drummer was better I dont think so.

  • DR OCTO OCTOPUS BLAH!!!!!!!!

  • I used to be.... Under the sea.... but then I took an arrow - to the knee!

  • @TheBerserkFaeces

Time to go back to reddit

  • 23 people have never herd a good song in there life omfg wtf why r u ppl so idotic goddd

  • Ringo why didnt ypu write mores ongs?

  • @The0B0Side he did, but Paul just got rid of them

  • @The0B0Side because he wrote them like you wrote that comment! xD

  • i think ringo starr is one of the MOST underrated drummers in music history...his simplicity was genius...and had some wonderful heights in his playing.

  • lyrical word smiths, instrumental geniuses, and music champions.... That is all i have to say.

  • I freaking love Ringo<3 and this song, i always have dreams that im in an octopuses garden(: They're always the happiest:D

  • ive always wanted to go to this garden <3

  • This is the first song I ever heard. Seriously. My daddy played it for me when he and my mom brought me home from the hospital.

  • I love his voice. :)

  • Look up "Ringo wants to sing more"

  • Why wasn't this on the Yellow Submarine CD?

If it was, then in the movie, then they would've met the Octopus! And it would be cool!

Hare Krishna.

  • this song is in the forth grade music book at school hahahahaha

  • Richard is a good singer!

  • Tom: "Octopus's Garden"?

Summer: Yes, "octopus's Garden" is the

    best Beatles song ever recorded.

Tom: Why don't you just say "Piggies"?

Summer: Come on. I love Ringo Starr!

    Tom: Nobody loves Ringo Starr.

Summer: That's what I love about him.

  • @lordofwarlotr Ringo Starr is AWESOME!!! XD I love drumming so I tend to like the drummer in a band the most, usually, usually but not all the time... but Ringo is my favorite Beatles member

  • @escapethefaterebel and this is one of my favorite Beatles songs along with Hard Day's Night, and I Am The Walrus

  • @lordofwarlotr

I just watched that movie on Mothers Day.

    One of the best

  • @lordofwarlotr Nobody loves Ringo??? D:

  • I honestly think that he wouldn't give a sh*t if people hated him or not because he was a member of the beatles, one of the most legendary bands ever

  • Many of Ringo's unusual little phrases were the basis around which some of the Beatles' most iconic songs were built. Though it was inadvertent, Starr's contribution to the band's output may have been much more vital than it appeared...

  • he should have sung more often, ringo's actually not a bad singer

  • @TheSaddleClub3798 yeah, but ringo's voice is in a lower pitch than the other 3. It is sung in E major (like "with a little help from my friends", which is also sung by ringo). He has a very special singing voice and it's not easy to write songs for him :)

  • the only reason it sounds good , is cuz ringo wrote it the way he should , he let paul and john do all the writing , and they let ringo take the credit. let me introduce to you the least favorite beatle mr ringo starr , mann. this was writting to the sound of sargent peppers lonley hearts club band,

  • Love this song :) makes me want to meet an octopus someday

  • Una delle canzoni piu belle!!! io amo i bealtes!! all the time!! <3

  • Fuck the haters Ringo was on some gangster shit

  • @1969420 Ringo is too bad ass for the word gangster my friend. He was Ringo or you may say a Beatle. Nuff said.

  • @rockfan363 well fuck you, punk ass bitch. Im sayin Ringo is a thugass cold-blooded hardhittin nigga, and if yo mind cant fuckin handle that, then go chug more dick faggot.

  • @1969420 Calm down, broski, the Beatles is on, just relax.

  • @1969420 Stop showing off that you are a pretentious bad ass. We do not need the ignorant term nigga in here unless you are worse than color blind my uneducated sounding friend ;). Must have been hard to learn the books due to your eyesight. And calling me faggot? Do you know what a faggot is kid?

  • @rockfan363 hahahaha i must emphasize this once more. you, good sir, are indeed a faggot. Ringo being white is actually a conspiracy put together by MI5 in the late 1950s. if you follow the Starkey family tree, you will discover that he is in fact of direct african descent. therefore rendering him a nigger. BOOM. game. set. match.

  • @1969420 You know you are an idiot? Calling people niggas? Do you know how fucking stupid that sounds? PS I am a homosexual? Or did you expect me to know your horrible use of the word? Remember, I cannot hear the thoughts in your mind and I am glad I do not because I'd shoot myself for finding out there is a human as stupid as this.

  • @1969420 PS this started with me giving u a suggestion, not a command.

  • @rockfan363 haha sheeeeit umad bro? ;D

  • @1969420 what is it? You think I actually got owned with all your stupid ass words in that comeback? That literally made it crash down to the ground. You pwned yourself. You will laugh your ass off in many years from now at your stupidity.

  • @1969420 Just remember Ringo is not a subject to your stupid ass ghetto culture.

  • @rockfan363 hahahaha this conversation is getting me so weak.

  • PS I am white. Do you know what white is due to the nigga insult lol?

  • @1969420 and ringo is too. you are purple.

  • I like Ringo's voice. It's so much more different from the other Beatles'.

  • Beatles r the best band, i wish we didnt have crap pop singers today. the beatles sold over 1 billion albums;more than any pop singer will ever sell

  • ringo cant sing, exactly why i love this song.

  • @toidimaet Haha, I like his voice. (:

  • 500 DAYS OF SUMMER TOO :)

  • Why does Ringo always get the Western-sounding songs?

  • i got here because of 500 days of summer

  • boa de maiss

  • What I don't get is how people undermine Ringo's songwriting even though he only wrote like two songs with the Beatles (This track and Don't Pass Me By) IMO the writing for Pass Me By is actually pretty alright. As for Octopus's Garden, I can't get it out of my head!

  • 20 people dont know that justin bieber isnt real music

  • RIP Ringo

  • @FatCucumberFilms He's still alive you Boob!!

  • @thefluffydaisy

Um, no, unfortunatly ringo is dead, unless you're a consperisy theorist, paul is the only one still alive.

  • @MrApplesaus Dude Ringo is not dead???

  • @MrApplesaus

He was at Paul's wedding there like a month ago you twat !

  • @thefluffydaisy lol. Brilliant way to respond. Kudos.

  • @MrApplesaus derrrrrr

  • @FatCucumberFilms RIP? hes still alive.

  • This song takes away my migranes

  • @iLyFaydeShotting You're 2kool

  • @normalpsychology what the fuck is wrong with you? This isn't rap fuck face!

  • @Co0kiEMoNsTeRzzz Look at the guy above you bro. Even I'm confused

  • @metalfreak4677 am i tooo cool

  • @Co0kiEMoNsTeRzzz The joke went right above you.

  • this proves that the beatles were on acid

  • everytime I listen to this song, it makes me smile♥

    .

  • i like how literaly all the beatles members could sing really well

  • Peace and Love, Peace and Love!

  • I know Ringo catches a lot of crap for not being as prominent as George, Paul, and John, but he sings some of my favorite beatles songs.

  • this reminds me of my depressed friend who always sings this to cheer himself up

  • great music to do geometry to :P

  • @Nomis095 Yeah, you can actually see the geometry :))

  • props to Ringo for an amazing song.

  • "The Beatles were so high, they even let Ringo sing a few tunes"

    -Bill Hicks

  • Ringo is the best Beatle

  • @GamerGirlPs3 What?

  • 19 people are octo-racist.

  • 20 people seem to be deaf.

  • 0:00-0:02 is my alert for whenever I get a text. I love hearing it more than I love getting the actual text itself.

  • R.I.P

    Ringo

  • @supertinheng Shut the hell up.

  • @supertinheng wtf!!!!????

  • @supertinheng um ringp is still alive dude

  • @supertinheng he's not dead

  • @supertinheng lmfao ringo's alive......

  • @supertinheng *facepalm* lol

  • @ryanmbrewer i want to high five you so badly for that EPIC comeback :D

  • Ringo just turned into my favourite Beatle.

  • great ringoooo

  • ringo is a member of the most influential band of all time. and for that, deserves respect and admiration. he also wrote some fantastic tunes. this, however, was not fucking one of them. fake paul in "walk hard" was right. he should have stuck it in his ass.

  • @ryanmbrewer - So you don't like this song, why do you feel the need to share that with the internet? Why click on this video in the first place, if you don't like the song so much? Have you ever considered the idea of different people liking different songs?

  • @niceguy1068 i have, in fact, considered that idea. i suppose that's why it didn't come as a surprise that a lot of people like this song...and also, that a lot of people don't. i guess i was just under the impression that folks were allowed to leave both positive and negative comments depending on their opinion. apparently, i was wrong. and for that i'm sorry. i'll make sure to only post glowingly positive reviews from now on.

  • Some people seem to like to give Ringo a hard time.... But this genuinely is my favourite Beatles song. It makes me smile.

  • Ringo should of sang more. He write's great songs :D and has a nice voice :D

  • This song rocks. 'Nuf said.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • I'm not sure why people belittle this song.

It's definitely just about a octopus. Yep, that's certainly the extent of the song.

    ಠ_ಠ

  • (From Walk Hard: The Dewy Cox Story):

Ringo: "Ive got a song about an octapus!"

John: "Jam it up your ass. You're lucky we still let you play drums!"

  • I'm gonna put this right on the fridge so we can see it every day, Ringo!

  • @snagglepaste all riiight!!!!

  • add me please

  • i love the beatles.

  • I've listened to this at least 40 times today.

  • Why with all the hate surrounding this song? It's such a fun, happy song! :)

  • @markleahy I agree. The Muppet Show did a really funny version of it in season three, Kermit and Robin singing, Miss Piggy as a mermaid in the background. Sensational!

  • hahaha a garden full of Octopussy

  • @isk8withemerica very clever word play :)

  • This song is one of the few that made instant hits, and one of the few that Ringo sang

  • My grandfather went to an octopus's garden....he drowned

  • this song reminds of death. drowning, in fact.

  • I can't see the Dislike tab! That's great.

  • 16 people dont like go to the Octopus's Garden

  • well done ringo, were going to put it right on the fridge!

  • @mrfenderbenderman don't rag on Ringo you wanker. he was a great beatle. A little help from my friends was a classic and this song is amazing. If you don't like ringo starr you have no taste.

  • @MrCoolcal20 I do like Ringo, and this is one of my favouraite songs, the joke was about his input of songwriting which undeniably was alot less than the rest of the band

  • @mrfenderbenderman just makin sure. I don't tolerate those who don't recognize ringo's talent. it's a shame he didn't, I really like the few songs he did write/sing.

  • @mrfenderbenderman

    oh right!

  • @mrfenderbenderman So we can see it every day!

  • 16 people drowned........

  • Thank-you for telling the story about the origin of the song. I have always liked the feeling of the song, the wistfulness, and now I now why. I am a guitarist/singer and I will be playing the song at a garden party this Thursday.

  • Thank-you for telling the story about the origin of the song. I have always liked the feeling of the song, the wistfullness, and now I now why. I am a guitarist/singer and I will be playing the song at a garden party this Thursday.

  • i really cant stand the beatles later hippie stuff. it makes absolulty no sense, and beyond the beats, the lyrics are shit. i prefer there early pop rock innocent love songs, not there weird drugged out acid trip songs they made in the late 60's.

  • @burtonrules123 do you even know what this song is about?

  • @burtonrules123 do you even know what this song is about?

  • @POWNER7805 I dont, tell me

  • @moriartyparty Ringo wrote this song while on vacation in India after a major fight within the band, while there he was eating dinner and they served him octopus. He was curious as to how they caught octopus and asked the server and the server told him that they found them in little underwater gardens. While on vacation, John called him and they had a long conversation about how they both felt. Ringo tlk about all the feelings he had about feeling excluded. i have to continue in another comment

  • Ringo told John how he felt the group was actually just John, Paul, and George. After telling John about all his feelings, John said he felt the exact same way about Ringo, Paul, and George. So after thinking of their conversation Ringo thought about what it would be to live in a Octopus' garden peacefully under the water with all of his friends and no worries where they could be happy and not fight. This song is abt wanting to be with his frends and happy, because they were his family

  • @burtonrules123 cool, in that case you might like jonas brothers as well. Their later albums are the best ones. Last Albums > Psychodelic stuff > Eastern influenced albums > early pop

  • @Luxmaxnike no way, i hate all of todays so called "music".

  • love this song, it's quite nice. <3 xx

  • 500 days of summer brought me here. sorry, i feel guilty. it's a terrible film.

  • This is one of the best song that I like from the Beatles. Lol, this is the 3rd best from them, and I might just even sing a song from them this one, lol, because yh I'll do it now.

  • luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ringo is so freaking adorable!

  • As of Saturday, August 6th 2011 12:28 Eastern Time, the Octopus has now denied 15 people access to his garden.

Who will become the 16th to be left out of the best club/hideaway ever??

  • apoco esta cancion es de Ringo star? esta xidisima!!!

  • Should be used in Spongebob.

  • best song ever, My parents are total hippies so naturally this song is a nursery rhyme for me xD
