Corkscrew was my first coaster experience and I was exactly the required height to ride. I'm glad I got to ride it shortly before it's removal. Now it is thrilling riders in India.
Who remembers the "Rotor man"? This guy would spend the entire day just riding in the rotor. He was friendly but kinda looked out of his mind most times lol
@zestyguy87 I rememer him!! Always was there, every day all day... and they never made him get off, he would always just stay inside the little circle rubber room when everyone else would get off! =) ohhh the memories <3
At the top of the tower the observation deck would go, "CLUNK!!" for a moment, before it started to drop slowly. When I would hear that noise I always thought, "Uhhh Oh God. We're going to die!" I also remember the gift shops selling those foam lizards on a stick. I never bought one there but always wanted one as a kid!
Thanks for posting. It's nice to see some old videos that brought back some memories. It's a bit sad too. It's cool that the Corkscrew is in this video. I remember when they took that down and replaced it with the Mind Eraiser.
i messed up my elbow for life on the raging wolf bobs. i wacked it on the side of the car when we came over a hill & i must have chipped the bone or something it still hurts 10 yrs later...haha.
I saw the RWB's ride last year and it looked ancient! Really, I thought it must have been the oldest coaster in the park. It was not running then and the paint was peeling all over it. Looking like it did and being a smaller coaster I just figured it was one of their first coasters built. It's hard to believe that thing was built in 88. They let it go big time. Glad to hear it was bought and will live on.
OMG back then the biggest things that they had was the big dipper, the corkscrew, raging wolf bobs and the skytower, i remember the corkscrew when I was little but they tore it down...
oh wow.

As a kid...you never had to ask "are we there yet?" All we had to do was look for the observation tower. Unreal how much memories hurt sometimes.

Thanks for posting this, it's like being in a time machine, exactly the way I remember it from the glory days of the 80s.

As a kid, it always seemed like Skyscraper went up to the top faster than that. *shrug*
I remember when we would drive by GL, Skyscraper was always the thing we'd look for in the skyline. Going to be sad when they take that down.

I believe this was 1987. The Euroracers are seen racing around the Rocket Ships. The Euroracers were new in 87.
