  • This is how thick rednecks talk in vermont... very few people actually talk like this, but yeah i've had a few buddies who talk like this. I've lived in vermont my entire life.

  • i have seen a dodge neon with deer strapped on the back... good old vermont, lol

  • Spot on for Middlebury/Ripton regional accent. Good story too!

  • Ha! You sound just like Mom and Dad's neighbor. A little over exaggerated, but not too bad.

  • I am Vermont, born and bread.....and I once strapped a 6 point buck on the back of my neon. Howevah, it was when I was Livin in Massachusetts during a brief period of defection and insanity.

  • Meh its close

  • ehh...Vermont is known for Subarus...not Neons..and that is more of a cheap Fargo accent...just Saying

  • @g0orange Yes, we have lots of Subarus here, but there are lots of Neons, too. And the accent is spot-on for the Bristol/Waterbury area. And I DO know what I'm talking about. :)

  • @jmartineau333 Um, actually, lots of us DO talk like that. No need for any name-calling.

  • ive lived all over vermont, ive never, ever heard any body talk like that,

  • @ilovejakobedean Keep listening.

  • @benetarm i love the vermont accent! :)

  • @benetarm yes i do. i have for my whole life and i know what a vermont accent sounds like

  • @itsmejennyg Actually, there is considerable variation throughout the state. A remarkable variation, really, considering how small a state it is. This particular shading is found around Briston/Warren/Waterbury. He has it exactly right.

  • @Vermontist1 umm where is Briston?

  • @itsmejennyg Oops! It's a typo. I meant "Bristol." Sorry to have confused you!

  • @Vermontist1 I live there and it sounds nothing like this

  • this is not even close to right. do you even live in vt? i live in vt.

  • im from vermont, no one talks like that,,

  • @ilovejakobedean finally! someone else who knows what they are talking about!

  • this empresstion werent good enuff fer me budd

    speakinathatgimmeafuckinbuddlioghttheredawd

    fuckin werent rioght budd

  • sadly the VT accent is rarely heard anymore, but you gotta love it!

  • Do i talk like this? AMAZING :D

  • @LianProductions Don't know if you do, but lots of other folks 'round here do.

  • I'm from northern Vermont and I have been told in NH that I have "the Vermont" Accent.. I don't hear the accent.. It sounds like someone just talking.. WTF?

  • i live in vermont and i am not a redneck and there is alot of people who are but there is alot of people who arnt

  • This aint a bad impersonation

  • All vermonters do not sound like this.

  • @whitemoon1441 I agree with you!

  • Comment removed

  • im from VT we dont all sound like this.

  • thats a northen vermont accent

  • my uncle sounds like this.....you gotta love vermont!

  • You sound kind of Canadian and Irish. Vermonters don't really sound like that. But when you said "Hun'in' season" it was good.

  • im sorry im from Vermont and we do NOT sound like this! **** you

  • fuck yankees. go back north or better yet, hell.

  • @MrMr1995blaine **** You! The war is over get over it!

  • fuck yankess. go back north or better yet, hell.

  • Hahahaha it's rude to burp like that!!! hahahahaa. Regards from Argentina.

  • I'm from Vermont and I know plenty of people that sound just like this. It might be a little exaggerated but not much honestly. There's a lot of variation within the state too so just because this doesn't sound exactly like another Vermonter you've heard doesn't mean it's wrong. I'd say this is a pretty accurate representation

  • i live in vermont, and thats pretty good, my dads side of the family is mostly rednecks and talk like that. i live in south burlington, so i dont though. :P

  • Almost there, drop the irish twang and speed it up a bit. Throw in a lot of wicked's and ayuhs. You could always complain about leaf peepers and flat landers. No G's no T's and thats about it, we are kind normal up there.... lol

  • I'm a Vermonter lol not all of us use bad grammar, only the stupid hicks of Vermont and given that may be many, not all. U kind of sound Vermonter / and u sound Irish ... =] but ur getting there.

  • i live in vermont and i love this cuz its sooo right!

  • Ha ha, I'm from VT and that was pretty good!!! ...and that story was very VT, I think I've seen a deer on a Neon before...ha ha ha...love it!

  • Pretty good, nobody will ever get it unless you live there though.

  • This sounds like me, VT is the best state. WE HAVE THE BEST REDNECKS

  • nvm i just figured out why everyone is disagreeing. Its because YOU ALL HAVE THIS ACCENT HAHAHAHA!

  • Yea Ive grown up in vermont my whole life. Anyone who says thats not a perfect impression obviously has never left Rutland or Burlington. Great man it felt like i was talking to my Grandpa

  • @Danacanda

    agreed

  • @kazoopilot

You would not hear a Boston accent in Vermont, unless it was maybe very southern Vermont.

Hmmm...I think you're close, but not quite. You slipped often into a more generic American accent. Plus, not all Vermonters talk like this. Those in the proverbial "backwoods" of Vermont talk similarly, but "city" Vermonters (like those in Burlington) tend not to. And there's a million varying shades in between. And there is no way a dead deer is fitting on the back of a Doge Neon. :P

  • Wow that was perfect VT old timer accent. Thats awesome thank you

  • gotta say it's deffinately not central vermont!!!!!

  • @theunlikeyou It's textbook perfect as far as how my family from Central Vermont speak. That said, Vermont is surprisingly diverse regarding accents.

  • preach

  • See that sounds more northern VT to me.I'm in Southern VT,we seem to be less nasal and more slower talking, the northern vters are faster and more nasal sounding.

  • @Vtmtnman42 Agreed. I grew up in Southern VuhMUHNT, and the speech as much slower and accentuated by " Ayup" or a lilting " Wellllll..."

  • We don't all sound like this bro.

  • North East kingdom straight up...

  • yeah this is more southern vermont. search for the logger . he does a pretty good NEK accent.

  • fake ass Vermont accent

  • This is not a common Vermont accent, maybe a Redneck but not all of us sound like that....

  • this sounds remarkably like a West Country accent from England. what i find interesting is that some of you are saying it's a spot on Bristol VT accent. Bristol (the original UK town) is the main city in the west country in England

  • hey we like to hunt i would know im from middlebury vt and if ur from ripton u will have the biggest body small penis and high girl voice ahhahahaahha they failed

  • Im from bristol vt and its pretty accurate if you ask me

  • maybe in damby vermont

  • yea, we deff. dont sound like that, we just dont pronounce out "t"s like the other girl said before.

  • that doesnt sound vermonterish. i have lived here my whole life [whhoop] and what we do is wear flannel, snouwboard in -20 degree weather and dont pronounce our "t"s

we drink and smoke too. but we definatly dont talk like that...

  • @jamminbabe11 There are regional differences in Vermont accents. This one is from the Warren/Bristol area, and it is spot-on.

  • Respond to this video... Actually, many of us DO sound exactly like that. There are some variations.

  • Your retarded dude, no one even sounds like that.

  • @l3lindTyper Just go to the Northeast Kingdom, you will know. haha

  • @l3lindTyper Well, the guy in the video does. And he sounds just like my friend Troy. And most of my family, too. But whose "retarded dude" were you referring to? Or, did you mean to type "you're", meaning "you are?"

  • lmfao!! You sound exactly like a good friend of mine up der in Berksheer ya dude!! My husband is KY bluegrass..kiss my yankee ass and has picked on me since we met. Civil war of words at home der man. Sat's how I stumbled upon yer video der.

  • Sounds like Irish / Somerset / Yorkshire to me

  • I'm from Vermont...we don't speak like Sarah Palin.

  • @PinotVino i'd vote your video up up if there was an option for it. There are ppl like that here though. Although it varies into more of a new england-ish accent as u travel west of the green mountains towards new hampshire. But i think for the most part it's either the new england accent/neo-new york, due to our proximity, or more of a standard american dialect.

  • @75egcg I understand what accent this guy is trying to imitate (usually heard coming from southern vermont). But it doesn't quite sound like this. This is more Palin/Fargo Movie accent. So I agree there are people like this but this accent isn't quite right. Good try though.

It does vary throughout the state...Burlington residents sound different than other areas of Vermont. And that's where I am from.

Also, I think you meant as you travel EAST of the green mountains? West is NY state.

  • @PinotVino EAST*

  • I'm from the Northeast Kingdom as well and I must say, nice job :).

  • this is a perfect redneck accent, but i'm from southern vermont and do not have a bit of this accent.

  • Sure, I think some vermonters sound like that but at least where I'm from, central Vermont, we don't really sound like that.

  • ahhh that was awesome. ya dude i shot me a deer the other day. good old rednecks in vermont they crack me up. i live in ubrlington so we dont really have that type of accent in chittenden county but haha i loved this

  • haha wow, im from springfield, and you nailed it!! ANd the thing about the neon? soo right!!

  • haha, just common sense everybody knows sat. nailed it buddy!

  • hey there! im from Newport, Vermont (bout 5 miles away from Canada) and that is infact what we talk like

  • it's like minnesota mixed with mass . . .

  • yeah, that's the vermont i know, droppin the t's at the end of the word there. yut.

  • The burping actually enhances the accent! Haha!

  • Vermonter here; very accurate, if not a little more eccentric than i was expecting, nevertheless quite accurate. Good job sir!

  • you NAILED IT! good goin there bud!

  • Not too bad!

  • I have family in VT, and that's not how they talk, p.s. they were born there and have lived there their whole life, maybe in some part of VT they talk like that, but I've never heard anyone talk like that, but they do say wicked a lot!

  • yup, i am from Bennington that is a VT accent alright...

    that is wicked VT accent.

you ain't gonna fuckin get shot durin the winter.

there are different VT accents though...

  • I work with a guy that sounds just like it lol... I live on the NH/VT border.

  • This is precious! I especially loved the "cryin' out loud" at the end. I'm in stitches. Got any more?

  • your close... but from where im from, you can barely understand the people with real real REAL vermont accents. ayuh.

  • hey your pretty close but i live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and we dont say "tink". it kinda like a Canadian and Maine accent put together

  • Comment removed

  • I live in brattleboro Vermont and i dont think any of us really talk like that. but probably if you go up state i suppose youd hear some of us talk like that. watch "The Logger" its a great vermont movie about a stand up comic from vermont

  • @immortalvamp

Oh, there's PLENTY of us talks like that, farther up north, like around Bristol, Warren area. Yup.

  • @Vermontist Ayup.

  • @immortalvamp Thats scary I live there to

  • Not too bad.

  • you sound like sarah palin more than a vermonter. don't fuck with the 802

  • dude i lived in vermont all my life. i was born there i was raised there an u aint even speakn no vermonter accent. i lived in the fucking boonies. berkshire vt. we only have one sidewalk an it only stretches bout 25 yds. across a bridge. every day i see deer in my back yard along with coydogs an moose beer turkeys an a shit load of cows. you need to actually go up der to where i live an experiance a real accent cz dude u suck at it!

  • no offence but that wasn't very good...vtfordguy1-my dad's a logger and he sounds nothing like that

  • im from burlington and in burlington the only accent we have is we dont pronounce lots of ts like butter is budder button is buddon, maybe if live way up in the boonies like the north east kingdom or down in Keene then thats a bit different

  • Dude im from Vermont and i wouldn't say this is all of Vermont maybe just Hardwick area or if ur ubsessed with the logger who aint even from Vermont !

  • @Vtfordguy1 dude he is from vt. learn ur facts before you say them

  • Thanks for your imitation of the accent! It sounds slightly Ontarian. There's a Canadian comedy show focused on one man and a few other characters. The main character speaks a bit like how you were speaking in the clip.
