I think he ate a decaying part and was saying that. These things decay after becoming ripe. We have a lot of trees like this and because everyone near us have these we cannot sell it or give it to people. So most of these just falls down and decays.

Not to be a bummer, but I'm an archaeologist, and 'cavemen' were all of our ancestors. I've never eaten a jackfruit, but if I were wandering around somewhere looking for something to eat so that I could survive, I would probably eat a jack fruit like that. Can you imagine how awesome that would be if you were a hungry caveman and you found that?
