The gnome is a unique prop in Episode 2 - there's only one of them. Thus, they made a ridiculous achievement based around it (which in my opinion is a waste of time).
There are several toy babies in Half Life 2 and there are no achievements for hauling them around. Point is this: I had a blast toying with the game's physics engine when Half Life 2 was first released. This video is just one example of what I would do with the physics.
