  • XD made in CROATIA

XD = Hs 2000 is producing in Croatian factory HS produkt, XD is just name for american market, and in Croatia and Europei'ts called HS 2000.

  • speachless, never thought i would hear so many bad things about the xdm, if u dont mind me asking what did u go with?

  • @Grant881000 M&P's, superior for my needs. Some love it and that's cool for them. I find the Glock and the M&P to be FAR superior to this, and cheaper. Thanks for not getting emotional and cussing me out.

  • Glocks are better than xds without a shred of doubt. Google "glock vs xd rofl" and read the forum response by an actual gun shop owner, dealing with xd's comming back for being 'sub-par'. These cheap, crappy extras are pretty much worthless excuses to charge an additional $100+ they spent millions on ads and magazine covers and reel in so many suckers. They hired good marketing people and will continue fooling the public with their overpriced crap

  • WHO WOULD WANT A PIECE OF SHIT XD? I HAD ONE AND IT EVENTUALLY GAINED THE NICKNAME "JAM MASTER" AND IT RUSTED HORRIBLY! XD TRIED TO COPY THE GLOCK BUT FAILED MISERABLY! THEY DON'T COME CLOSE, I DON'T SEE S.A.'s SHITTY XDs ON ANY COPS BELT, IN ANY COMBAT, IN ANY SERIOUS GUN OWNERS COLLECTION OR BEING PUT INTO USE BY PEACEKEEPERS ALL OVER THE PLANET. FUCK ALL YOU XD FANBOY FAGGOTS! YOU KNOW U WASTED YOUR $480 AND THATS WHY YOU TRY TO DEFEND YOUR SHIT-HOLE XD PISTOLS. FUCK U AND FUCK UR LIFE BITCH!

  • @eric97402 wow... get angry much? The glock has it's fair share of idiosyncrasies and isn't the end all be all of guns. Glocks and XDs are cheap, they are meant to be cheap so that lots of people buy them. Glocks feel cheap, the action is sloppy and they are overhyped. There are plenty of police that use XD, Glock, Sig and others. Don't base what you think is quality on the choice of a government agency. They shoot for what meets minimum requirements at the cheapest price.

  • i love my XDm. i hated my glock. it just sits and collects dust. i forgot i even owned one until i saw the case at the bottom of my safe under some unused targets. i would sell it but the money i would get for it would barely fill my gas tank for a month so i might as well just keep it

  • he is not a gear queer only a very fashionable outdoors man.

  • I love the XDM. It would be a marriage made in heaven if Comptac and SA had a deal to include their holster and mag pouches.

  • RUGER SR40C and SR9C are better than the XD and Glocks and you know it! Let me count the ways, 1) More economical, 2) Lighter Trigger, 3) Adjustable Sights, 4) Recoils less, 5) Much safer, 6) More accurate,7) Feels better, 8) Lifetime warranty, 9) Much slimmer. 10) Made in the U.S.A.

  • My son has the XD and you are correct, all the extras pretty much stay in the carrier. Nice gun though.

  • As long us it shoots great everything else (junk) does not matter. I have xdm .40 and it shoots great that's what matters. Honestly if u don't like it sell it and buy a glock!!!

  • I enjoy the extra mags and it's nice to have the backstrap option. This isn't a barbie doll. They intend for you to find whats comfortable and stick with it. So changing out the backstraps at a moments notice won't be a problem for me. The extras in the case are good for first gun buyers. They will get into all the top notch gear in due time. As for me all, all the extra "junk" in the case is a selling point for me to my wife and helps justify spending 700 dollars on another gun.

  • @Ac1dr3fluxtoo I have to say, your selling point to your wife might be one of the most brilliant firearms purchase justifications I have ever heard. You sir, might just be a genius. You are (or should be) an inspiration to married men EVERYWHERE! Nice work.

  • I agree and disagree. the speed loader there are better. The holster I use it for range and laying in the gravel. don't really want to drag a hundred dollar leather holster in the gravel. The back straps You change them out a couple of times to figure out what you like best and shoot best natural point with. Then you leave it alone. As far as the case goes if I was going to travel with multiple guns I might use it might not. What did you get?

  • I could not agree with you more. For the longest time i have been telling my friends (XDM users). XDM comes with too much accessories that are not even useful to me and other prolific shooters. Aside from the extra mags and the gun i don't need the other stuff. It makes me wonder how much less would people pay if they only bought 1. Case, Gun, and Mags. But i do have to hand it to SA the gun case is pretty heavy duty.

  • the case with the extra stuff is smart marketing by springfield. for the inexperienced people buying a gun, it appeals to them more. That's all it is... Springfields attempt to appeal to a broader range of buyers. smart.

  • @2:47 "it serves a purpose on in that it carry's a gun"............WTF else do you want it to do? It's a friggin holster, period!!! Cmon bro get real. Those things are useful no matter what level of shooter you are. Sure there is better quality gear but this stuff came with it. Don't get hung up on the quality.

  • @chuckv5150 "Don't get hung up on the quality" Sorry but that's not good enough for the equipment in which I will be carrying a gun that I plan to protect my/my family's lives with. I know and use ONLY quality gear. If that junk is good enough for you I'm glad. And no, that gear is not useful for all levels of shooter, as high level shooters know better. But of course, use what you like.

  • Sorry to hear it did'nt work out, good points on the extra stuff.

  • Pretty much agree. Did the XD thing for a few years. I didn't use any of the gear more than long enough to buy something better both in functioning and quality. The ergonomics of the M&P alone make it a better choice.

  • You're right, if the gun doesn't work for your shooting style, you should find one that does. However, your rant about the included stuff was pointless. I have a XDM and I didn't buy it because it was coming with all that crap. In fact, I didn't know it came with all that stuff when I purchased it. But I thought the case was a nice plus and I use the reloader. I want the grip changes to be difficult, because I'm only going to change it once. I hope your next gun works with your grip better!

  • Nice video. good detail. Do you belong to a club?

  • i dont care wat he wears

  • Just curious: Have you considering fixing this (what could be a minor issue) with your own gunsmithing (or having someone else do it for you?)

Just about anything can be fixed, and compared to other mods out there, this could be a really easy fix. Design your own slide lock lever, or possibly reduce the size of the existing one.

  • @jimbob19795 yeah settle down man it will be ok i promise. shooting with your thumbs high like that offers the best recoil management grip, which is very important in self defense/tactical shooting scenarios. that being said, it is very common for semi-autos to not stay locked to rear with that grip. however once you get to know your hand gun you will be able to tell when the slide closes on an empty chamber.

  • @IcyDeath91 Icy, you're the first person to comment on the APPROPRIATE thumbs high grip and I thank you. That's also why in my favorites I have a Travis Haley vid on appropriate grip, which shows exactly what we're talking about. All these trolls like jimbob and crimson whatever just spout without backing it up through training or videos. Long since moved on from the xdm, running M&P's very happily with no issues.

  • i shoot idpa with a glock, soon switching over to an xdm 9mm compact. if u ever have that problem, try lifting your right thumb so it isn't completely resting on your left hand. works for some people but not all. just something to try. nice video btw!

  • I basically agree with everything you said. As much as I wanted to like my XDM, I couldn't for the same reasons. Sold it and got a Glock 21 which I LOVE !!

  • Dude, sell all of your guns move to Hollywood and them design your gun for you. Because your issue is your error. It may be comfortable for you to shoot with that high grip but, its incorrect. Adjust your grip accordingly... Keep practicing until it becomes automatic.

  • @d5crimson Watch my favorited video by Travis Haley. Then (maybe) you'll understand thumbs high grip. Or you won't and you'll call him an idiot too. Either way either post up and show your vast knowledge, or stop spouting about topics you obviously don't understand.

  • @DoworkLT Now now, don't feed the trolls. Use what works, Travis says that a lot as well.

  • @Kabong30 Your right, just get sick of armchair shooting experts. I agree 100% with use what works. That's why I don't blast any guns or techniques. (That is of course any technique that is appropriately built out of quality training and experience, not just talk) Thanks for watching.

  • I've actually had that happen to me during the first time using the compact variant of that gun and I corrected myself by using a different so my thumb won't be pressing down on that slide release so hard

  • @DoworkLT

What is funny is that your major complaint is one of the things that a majority of Glock owners actually modify by installing a more obtrusive slide stop. I see your point in that it just didn't work for you. However I must say that I think you're somewhat of an exception with hands as large as yours. I use the same grip on my XDM and it has never been an issue.

  • @Murphy82nd

Agreed! I own the same weapon in this video and carry it as my duty weapon every day. Love it and never had those issues. Its a perfect marriage, I also own the Xdm 3.8 Compact .40 Cal and that one is my conceal carry option. There are many great weapons in this very contested market and the XDM has found its way at the top of the game along with other great manufacturers. Didnt work for him but it works for me and many others like me. Hope that the M&Ps work well for him.

  • Fantastic video sir. I've been looking for an actual honest review of the gun, but all I seem to get is Glock comparisons and rhetoric over brand names. I have a different shooting grip, so the xdm is a good choice for me. I the gun you traded for serves you well. Stay safe and happy shooting.

  • So what did u trade for?

  • @9FingerTactical An M&P 9mm full size, followed quickly by the M&P 9c. Perfect fits for my needs.

  • Good video. I agree with you about some of the contents of the case. I was at an Academy shopping for a pistol and at first when the guy showed me the case I thought "Oh, that's nice," until he showed me the other items and it caused me to dismiss the XDM 9mm completely. You're right in that a person looking for his first pistol may perceive it as having value, but it had the complete opposite effect for me. Since that day I have reconsidered and may still buy it. or maybe the Beretta Nano.

  • I agree with you 100%...went through the same thing..traded for a new Glock 19..been happier ever since. I also divorced my wife which made me MUCH happier ( :

  • I agree with you 100%...went through the same thing..traded for a new Glock 19..been happier ever since.

  • Very informative video I like it. BTW can you link us to the video you were mentioned about the XD factory holster being broken in half? I'd like to see it but I can't seem to find it.

  • @0Shank0 It's called something sill like, "plastic holsters suck". Kind of a jakey vid, but it illustrates the point. The holster in the video is a fobus, same as the xd supplied holster.

  • @DoworkLT ah I found it watch?v=2Rv49aDzdgc, I thought what you were saying in the video was that you seen an actual XD holster being broken off.

  • @0Shank0 Yes, the "xd holster" is a fobus holster.

  • Where can you get that braclet your wearing and whats the name of it cuz they look awesome : )

  • Good Video. I own the XDM 9mm 3.8 compact and the XD 3.0 sub compact. Both Guns shoot great (TO ME) hands down. Ive never hand an issue with hand placement on either. I actually like the larger slide lock. And as far as Safety Goes...I think the Operator is the SAFEST (safety) on a gun. If Your NOT safe, The gun WONT BE...

  • Well I see I am not completely alone in stating my appreciation for the honest opinion put forth. It was clearly stated upfront that the issues were a matter of personal shooting habits and preferences. Again, I appreciate any opinions put out on any system that make me aware of possible points of consideration prior to purchase. Thanks again

  • After researching the xdm for a month or so I'm glad I stumbled on this review.I'd still like to try it out but I was leaning towards a Steyr. Thanks for the honesty!

  • Sell it?

  • @bullshipus123 Certainly did, happily running M&P's now and loving it.

  • I was listening till i saw you had two 550 cord bracelets. Gear queer.

  • @Zomb131 Actually one was a watch band. Since you're obviously a third or fourth grade dropout I'll forgive your a-hole tone. Take a break from youtube and read a book.

  • I'd like Springfield to get rid of those junks come with the gun and give me 1 or 2 extra magazines instead.

  • The XDm compact slide stop is closer to the slide than yours. There is almost no distance in between slide and stop, whereas yours is sticking out a bit. Feels great, I ride high and have no trouble resting above the stop. Same thing with the XD sub compact. Great guns and the loader is damn useful and the holster is a great around the house and yard holster. And now with the 3 flush mag deal you can't beat it!

  • @pspguru Are you advising that Springfield has reduced the prominent slide stop? If that's so, good deal. Always knew the xd stop was better, more similar in profile to glock or M&P. Loaders are useful tools, which I advised in my video. I would recommend the use of a good holster anywhere you might find yourself. Just because you're on your property doesn't mean you less in need of good SAFE gear. Fobus holsters are no good wherever you find yourself. Be safe, happy shooting.

  • Glad you like the XDM, but since you won't ever buy another gun without a grip safety then be prepared to have a very small gun collection in the future, which will totally eliminate all revolvers and rifles as well.

  • @gunsmokeTPF Amen gunsmoke. Singing praises of grip safeties always throws up red flags for me. I will not have one again. ( Except on a 1911, and that won't be my carry gun, just a must own kind of thing.)

  • I have a Glock 19 and an XDM 9mm compact. For the XDM, the extras that are good are the case & magazines & the speed loader. The magazine holders and the holster are not great and i don't use those. The overal grip on XDMs blow away the Glocks. The XDM serrations are very useful too and help if you are in wet conditions. While some don't like grip safetys, I wouldn't buy another gun without one. The XDM load indicator is great and the striker indicator is too. XDM = Mac, Glock = PC.

  • springfield has brought back the three free mags and mag carrier effective 09012011 with purchase of xd or xdm

  • @DoworkLT Some people learn through experience while others must learn by peeing on an electric fence. That was said many years ago by Will Rogers. Your video was informative and well done. You're entitled to share your thoughts with others and just happen to be correct. Whether people agree with you or not doesn't matter. If they wanna take things personally it's up to them. What you showed was presented fairly. Amatures must sometimes learn the hard way. Some never learn at all. Good luck.

  • @DoworkLT Well I could see how my opening statement could have come off as a little bit douchebaggery so lol and were all objective and you feel one way and I feel the same just a different way I wouldn't use this holster for EDC but I feel its an added value with the package that is included I feel I get more bang for my buck I atleast have an extra holster laying around but I wouldn't buy this gun because of the package deal I like the style of this weapon and I will most likely pick one up

  • How the shit do your thumbs not get ripped off when you are manhandling the slide so closely?

  • @MustardDragon That would be because the cycling of a semi-auto handgun slide cannot rip off your thumbs.

  • It's not trashing.I own a colt engraved by the best colt engraver of the 20th century and wouldn't trade it for 50 glocks.Glock happens to be one of the best where self defense is concerned and military & police use.Nothing's wrong with personal opinions that compare quality or experience.Sure, buy what you like but people need to read what others have to say.You shouldn't take it personal.Mossbergs are used by military and police but are on the cheap end of the price scale, but they work well.

  • Another Glock lover trashing another Gun......Just keep your Glock or what ever you were "trained" to use!

  • I know exactly what you are talking about. My department issued SIG P220 does the same thing because of the design. I've tried training around it but it still happens too often. Never had a problem with the Beretta, HK, 1911, and others. That's why it's nice to have choices. I would let it go and don't look back.

  • Nice review. Sprgfld's attempt to copy glock went overboard. Loaded chamber indicator on top, cocking indicator as used on the baby brownig in the rear, glocklike safety trigger, 1911 style grip safety. Next they'll make it self cleaning like my oven. Try to find a decent holster that'll fit that shoebox looking slide. Camo paint should really make it a big seller for those easily impressed. Correct about that dumb mag holder and crummy holster. Gun's design especially 2tone looks like a cap gun

  • "it serves a purpose only in that it carries the gun" - ...okay that sounds about right

  • @TheVollertron Um yeah. This is a fobus piece of crap. A good holster does a lot more than only carry a gun, ie: facilitate full combat grip, not break under slightest stresses, hold the gun in decent retention, facilitate close to body everyday wear. The list goes on. So yes, "it serves a purpose only in that it carries a gun"

  • @DoworkLT well if the retention sucks on a plastic holster than that really does make it worthless, i see what your sayin!

  • @TheVollertron The fobus is pretty much the worst you can buy, other than a nylon "any gun" kind of holster. Quality kydex on the other hand, as used by Raven Concealment, Comp-Tac etc is AWESOME. Check them out and you'll definitely see what I mean. Thanks for watching.

  • @DoworkLT Fogus, fobus? are you trying to say bogus? LOL

  • Awesome review honest review and I really appreciate your not bashing any manufacturer in this video , Thats hard to come by lately great job

  • @Whytnoiz07 Thanks for watching, and the complement. I try to keep it objective and honest.

  • under cover glock mark

  • I admire that you actually based your opinion off your experience and let no ridiculous brand bias into this.

  • @Midgegirl16 Thank you. With some of the responses to this, you'd think I angered the original designer. People get silly when you don't like something they do. It didn't work for me, but it surely works for many and that's cool. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for the review. Tough to find a bad review on this handgun. I'm definitely gonna get one...but you gave me some things to think about. Much appreciated. And thank you for not comparing it to a Glock like everyone else that doesn't like the XdM does

  • @Jroy9108 This gun could absolutely be perfect for you. I think I've heard of a newer xdm with a reduced grip, that sounds like a winning set up for some. I hope it's a win, enjoy.

  • Don't get a revolver!

  • whered u get that band on ur right arm?

  • @soccerstud406 visit pre-para.com

  • I'm new to the world of shooting and personal protection. So new I am still in research phase. I still don't own a firearm or have my CHL yet. But, I plan on it soon. With that said, I am about sold on the new XDm 3.8" .40 Compact. I have looked at the extras. I was initially excited because hey, I would get all this cool stuff. However, like you said, it looks worthless for my purposes. I plan on getting an IWB holster and the mag holder does look awkward. Great video. Sorry it wasn't for you.

  • @Wysiwyg101 Thanks for watching. This gun may absolutely be for you, but definitely don't buy for the extras. They are all junk and will not serve well in any real training. Now if you find a deal where you get a few extra mags or something, that's surely something to think about. Welcome to shooting, be safe and have fun.

  • but you could file down the slide lock couldnt you? Can it be replaced or modified?

  • @PFULMTL Someone could certainly modify it, I didn't want to try it. Plus I got into the M&P for what I got out of the XDM, so it was a wash. I don't know of a replacement, but maybe Springfield will improve it someday.

  • @DoworkLT

M&P is great but I had to modify the trigger on mine. It feels so cheap and the pull was too heavy. Nothing a little trigger adjustment by a gunsmith didn't fix.

  • Yeah I think it shouldnt come with all those extras. Give me three mags!

  • @SafeArmsReview Much better. As per my video and the reasons therein, the xdm wasn't for me. Also, as per my video, the xdm is great for some people and they should enjoy that gun. Be well and enjoy all guns and gear.

  • I have traded in a couple of Glocks because I just couldn't get the best grip that I can get with XDs and XDMs. Will wait for G4 Glocks to fix all those problems associated with "new" guns.

I couldn't agree with you more on the extras Springfield gives. Haven't used any of them. To be honest, they're crap.

As for the free magazines Springfield is giving away, I got mine (no lie) the next day I filed for them online. They do rattle a bit, even while they're full.

    Excellent (honest) video!

  • @alessiomore Thanks for the kind words on my video.

  • Was that a red front site dot I saw? My xdm 9mm 4.5 came with a white dot but I painted it red

  • @jolow2 No brother, I painted mine too.

  • Right now you get 3 extra mags when you buy an XD or XDM. You have to mail in a rebate for them. Got mine last week. Gives me a total of 5 mags. The offer runs from Oct 8 - Dec 31. It's a great gun.

  • @Bullitt3000 Three EXTRAS! Wow, that is indeed a ton of mags. That's a major score for you especially if they're the 19 rounds. Good info for viewers.

  • @Bullitt3000 it's a solid piece and a solid company, I now shoot an SR9 however--everyone's different!

  • i have the 3.8 in 40 i love it... r ur groups tighter with a glock ?

  • @3BabyMamas Nope, groups were outstanding with the xdm, actually better than when I ran Glock. (Not to say this gun is better or worse than Glock, just that I shot it better). Great gun, glad it works for you and your gun marriage is happy. Be well.

  • I totally agree with you.. Those XD gears are crap. At first i thought they were cool but I haven't used/touched any of it. Still in the box.

  • @MrDonutboi Glad to know someone else feels the same way. Maybe Springfield will listen. Ditch the crappy gear no one would use, and give the people an extra mag.
