  • @bcschanen do you know the part number of your headers or on what vehicule those headers are supose to fit and what are the tubing size at the primaries and collecter cause i want to put headers on my dak r/t but all i had found is made to fit the original y-pipe and i don't want it because there to small. thanks and nice truck

    Pistons are "JE Pistons"

    Yes, the added 200+hp made a difference.

    Never went to the track with the 360- but it would've turned high 14s.

  • wut did you have to buy and chaged too make the 408 I have a 99 and I want to make it 408 wuts your best time 1/4 mile

  • Block bored out 0.030", 4" diameter pistons, 4" Stroker Crankshaft. Everything else is basically interchangeable with a normal 360.

    Best 1/4 Mile time to date: 12.53. Don't remember the trap speed right now.

  • nice truck man, did you ever get your tranny problems fixed? is that just the stock pan, just polished? also, can you tell any difference with the ghetto cold air pipe you put in there? nice truck again, and i bet your neighbors really hate you!! :)

  • Tranny problems are all taken care of and it runs perfect :) I had a company called Auto Trans Design take care of the issues. It's a stock-style, aluminum trans pan.

    Yes there's a difference with the ghetto air hose, it's temporary until I figure out a cold air induction system that I like. I can touch the round filter after driving and it's cool by the hose, but HOT on the opposite side.

  • sounds awsome, does the 408 pass smog checks? Im wondering cause i live in california and want to swap out my stock 5.9....

  • You might be able to get a 408 to pass in CA, but it could be a big pain to do. I really doubt my truck could ever pass smog checks in CA.

  • It has the stock rear end with the 3.92's in it right now. And no... it doesn't hook up at all yet.

  • Nice truck. What are you running for engine management? Flashed PCM? Or standalone? I have a POS KRC engine in my 96 Ram that I'm going to part out eventually. Check out my vids to hear mine running open header. I also have my 2000 Ram with a stock 360 running the dyno in my vids.

  • Right now I'm running a custom flashed PCM. That's too bad that you aren't happy with KRC. It seems like many people have a poor experience with them, while others live and breath by everything that Marty says. What do you have in mind for a new setup?

  • I'm assuming that you are talking about the round air filter. I bought it in seperate pieces; bottom plate, filter, and the top "x-stream" lid all from w w w . summitracing . c o m

    I had to get a 1/4 - 20 threaded rod to make an "s" bolt to offset the filter so that it would fit correctly. Not that the bottom "plate" of the filter is also "offset".

  • wow to the guy with a civic if you knew shit running on open headers doesnt lose you horsepower you actually lose torque and gain top end horsepower

  • Damn, that thing is amazing. Forget that honda lover, he wouldn't know real horse power if it bit him in the ass.

  • this guy's right man. i'd be terrified if this guy pulled up to me with his civic. especially cause those awesome open headers are "robbing you power". if you really want to go fast, you should bolt on a 3' tall spoiler. that'll get you to hook up better. install a 250 shot of nitrous too. if you're too big of a wang to install it yourself, take it to midas or something. they work on race engines all the time. they'll even tell you why your check engine light is on.

  • I just want to let you know that having those "awesome" open headers is losing you horsepower. Not even your displacment fills in for that.

    P.S. You better pray that you never see me at a stoplight, open headers or not.

  • lol your funny kid if hes got a built motor like that he is undoubtly gaining horsepower...but for example if you did that to your civic it would probably lose horsepower , nice logic
