Also, during shots of stills there was visible behind them around the edges of the stills footage that could have easily been hidden by the use of "letterboxing" the top and the bottom of the screen. I also loved the coverage of the siege machines at the beginning but the pictures flashed too quickly to give the audience a decent look. I would have added perhaps another two minutes to dwell on those just a bit longer because I found that fascinating.
Not a bad documentary. I like the narrator pretty well and I think with time he'd be really good though the audio recording needed a bit of work because he peaked a few times there. I like the addition of the footage but there were places during the musical part a few minutes in that used WW2 footage that made the idea of dealing specifically with WW1seem a bit disjointed. Also, I would have tried to use period music or close to period rather than music from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Some of the footage doesn't match the timeline. The first tank that saw battle was the Mark 4 tank, NOT the mark 1. Also, The Blitzkreig tactic was developed by Hitler in WW2, and wasn't just for tanks. It used every element of the military, when possible. Infantry, Armor, Aircraft. Ships however were rarely used. I like discovery channel more.
One of the worst videos I've seen about tank history. Talking about first world war tanks and at the same time constantly showing tanks from the second war!
It's interesting how things survive. Back in WW1 both the allies and the germans had the exact same problem and came up with two completely different answers. One used an armored fighting vehicle equiped with machine guns and cannons while another used elite squads of soldier armed with their most advanced weapons.

Guess which one we're still using today.

i think it is more the fact that the germans put more money and research into ANTI tank weapons without realising they should be building them aswell
