  • 1;05 is that a pink floyd necklace ???

  • I have a 46 litre tank, (10 gallons). I have a few neons like tetras, ghosts, glass. I recently bought 2 females and 1 male, would these be likely to breed??? somebody PLEASE help!!!

  • I hav 3 females which tummies ate bulgin for a long time but their not giving birht

  • I already got a baby Molly

  • How long does it take for the female guppy to give birth? ALL my female has a gravid dot...including a 3cm one.....their stomachs are bulging a lil

  • I made no effort in trying to breed guppies....i got 20 guppies from the petshop for 2 dollars threw them in a 10 gallon tank....now i got about 40 guppies in 3 weeks.

  • its not a simple as well to buy a tank and set it up.. a tank needs cycling before any fish can go in or you will end up losing more fish than its worth.

inaccurate information in this video.. guppies when pregnant are ready to drop do not always have a dark gravid spot, this is not a good way to predict the drop.. when ready to drop the guppy will be unsocialable, hide away, be very static, and mainly just dwell.

the ratio of males to females is 1 male to every 2-3 females to stop harrasment.

  • @5teady using gravel is also not a good idea, the fry can swim under gravel and become stuck and grow under the gravel where they become trapped completely and die.

sand or a bare bottom tank is best, using lots of java moss on weights to keep it on the bottom is best for the fry to hide, or attach a lot to bogwoods.

Guppys have fry every month, or 28-35 days, not 12-28 days..

be prepared for lots of fry when breeding guppies

  • @5teady you additional tanks set up for the fry, like a 10 gallon, the fry go quick and your main tank will end up over run.you need to find a local fish store that will take them in for cash, or exchange, or free

  • a male guppy should have 3 female guppys between it, if not then when the female is pregnant it will be harrased to death?

  • hi as soon as the female is preg when does she give birth and when do i seperate her and how log until she can breed again and last can i keep the adult guppies with small goldfishes? thanks i subbed please sub back and btw nice vid

  • i have a ? my male guppie is starting to swim and chase my females does that mean they are close to breeding

  • can you sell guppies

  • Hi I'd just like to say that if you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them

  • If I get guppies to breed, then will the babies have babies?

  • @MyTurtlesAreAwesome1 Yes once they are fully grown they too will reproduce

  • @LilKolo523 okay thanks

  • how do u feed the babies

  • @theshuffleboy2 Crush up fish food into fine powder, then feed like you would feed an adult guppy

  • Its so perverted but interesting

  • Breeder nets suck, though! Aren't you supposed to put fry in a separate tank? I started with 24 guppy fry, and only one of them is left now, and I kept them all in two breeder nets!

  • @Pop12646Okami Depends upon how many fry you have, if you have around 25 like you had you should definitely put them in another tank

  • is it best to have real plants and fake

  • @evilriverside Either way is okay

  • @LilKolo523 thx

  • @evilriverside do you know that real plants raise water quack

  • @evilriverside i mean water quality sorry

  • instead of wasting that much money you can go to pet land and get a 10 gallon tank with plants, gravel, filter, air pump, charcoal, air tubing, instructions all for 16.88. if you wanted a hood w/lamp for 23.00 or 29.00

  • So i have a 10 gal with 2 females guppys 3 males and 2 plattys, I have a few decorations like a fake bridge and a sign, so I just need fake plants to let the fry hide, not real ones?

  • @KongregateBadgeQuest anything that is busshy or thick. java moss is very good or horn wort. you can also have fake plants but they need to be dense so the others dont see them. you can make your own things for your fry to hide in like a breeding mop. to make it you take wool and make 10 strips 12 inch long, bunch them togeather in the midle and tie them to a cork. you will now have 20, 6inch long pices of wool dangeling in your tank. because of the cork it will float. mrfishlover14 here to help

  • @mrfishlover14 Thanks, ill try the breeding mop out... got another female and 2 of them are pregnant now, so ill see how it works.

    Thanks again!

    Rey

  • i have two males and one female and they both nudge on her but this has been going on for about 1 month and a half have any tips

  • @djromeboy25 You have it all backwards. You need 2 or 3 females for each male. This will make the females a lot happier because they won't be chased around so much, and the males with become less aggressive. You need to add at least 3 more females to your tank.

  • @djromeboy25 the best thing you can do is get 3 more females because you dont have the corect ratio. if the males are doing that then it is just a matter of time before she is pregnant.

  • @BAEnErGYzZ I have a heater but I'm a bit worried though. Everyone says that the water must be at a "tropical" degree, and it's true. But, I've also heard that if those things malfunction... overheat.... complete disaster. So I'm not sure if they're good or bad, but I still have one.

  • @BAEnErGYzZ they don't adapt, they try to survive and then they slowly and unhappily die from illness. It opens them up to infections and allows things like ick to kill them. Its stupid to think that you can take an animal that has evolved to deal with constant temps of 82, to think that they don't need a heater. I think maybe you should do a little experiment. Keep your house at 59 degrees for a few days, and your not allowed to wear anything but your underpants. Maybe that'll make you think.

  • I can see a platy in it ;) hey dude .. Will the adults eat the eggs or the fries ??

  • Comment removed

  • don't any of you guppy breeders add a platty unless you have a female or male with it or it will eat the babies .

  • @BAEnErGYzZ thanks i need to ninus a thing off that list thank you very much

  • you dont know what your doing with your fish lol. tropical fish its not gold fish can live in a cold water

  • idiot, for saying tropical dont need heaters!!! first of all its tropical fish, its means they live in warm water, and tropical fish lives in tropical country and they dont have a winter!!

  • real way of breedin guppies

    1 set up fish tank

    2 drop em in

    3 watch em multiply

  • the breeding net how does it work

  • how do u no male from felame

  • I have tropical fish and I don't have a heater

  • @BAEnErGYzZ Woah there calm yourself. Use you EnErGYzZ for something else.

  • If you need tanks, go to craigslist btw if anyone needs one that's probably the best place. Also, I've heard that you should have 2 girls for every guy. Nice video tho

  • well, i got all the equipment except the stupid heater.

  • @BAEnErGYzZ im the troll? nice.

  • have had probs with pregnant guppys dying just before dropping fry, i have lost 2 this way and have 2 more pregnant ones do you know how i can stop this from happening again.

  • at the end what do u mean about a breeding net ?

  • how do you feed them without the adult guppies eating them?

  • @BAEnErGYzZ SHUT UP TROLL. HE'S ONLY TRYING TO HELP SO WHAT IF HE'S WRONG? YOU GONNA DIE?

  • thank you instructions and tips are VERY CLEAR. THUMBS UP

  • @BAEnErGYzZ i agree ive had 6 years expierence and ive NEVER had heaters

  • How do you get rid of the fry when they mature?

  • @BAEnErGYzZ Since they are tropical fish they live in a tropical climate, winter is only a few degrees cooler. They do not adapt.

  • adding 5 fish hmm.... so 2 males 2 females and one gagagagauppy :D

  • hi can you use a clear pot with little holes in the bottom as a fry catcher ???

  • i like your music...yha!!!

  • do u think it would be bad to put the 1 girl and 1 boy guppy in the breeding tank until she gets pregnant. then take the boy out and leave the girl in the breeding tank until it gives birth?

[i cant get an extra tank but my large tank already has a heater and filter]

    PLEASE REPLY ASAP! THANKS!

  • @x3rawrjoycex3 that is the best method that most breeders used! Keep the breeding male and female in the breeding tank, then remove the male after he fertilized the females eggs. After the female gave birth, remove her as well. (LMFAO with your "1 girl and 1 boy guppy") lol

  • @x3rawrjoycex3 Yeah thats fine

  • @x3rawrjoycex3 1 male 2-3 femails AMIN!

  • Ur tank is crap and is torture for the fish

  • the prices are messed up this is our prices in Chicago

filter10$ can go up to 15 gallon

heater13$ can go up to 15gallon

    gravel 5ibs for 3$

plastic plants are 2$ a piece

water conditioner not cleaner for 3$

    10gallon tank for $12

    at walmart

  • @tez1204 are u an idiot. Did the $ not make it obvious enough?

    Anyway, helpful video :)

I've been keeping a 70 gallon tank with a lots of cichlids for the past view months (videos on my channel) but I have a 20 gallon tank unused now so I'll probably buy a few guppies and tetras tomorrow to fill it.

  • are your prices is in USD?

  • I have a Question! My female Bue Galaxy Guppies seems to be avoiding all of my male Guppies. Once male(s) go near her,she will chase them off. I was wondering if you can help me.

  • @LilKolo523 nice vid man

  • can i do this with black mollies? i do not really like guppies

  • @joshy39769

ya mollies is the same way too

  • Can't u just use a breeding box? The mom will give birth in it. It works well for platies cas they will look in the plants for da young.

  • Please can u tell me What is the best temperature for my guppies

  • Hi I have a fish tank 2.5gal with 1 male 2 females( one pregnant one not) and I don't have fake plants I have not alot of real plants in this tank. I don't have A bubble filter so I put a net around the filter. Wat I'm going to do is let them have the babies and if I see any aggression I will ether remove the adult fish and put them in my tengal or split the tank. Will this work?

  • why not natural plants instead that plastic crap?

  • It takes guppies 22-34 days to give birth . You only need one male or at least 25% males, 75% females, your tank is really cloudy

  • the beatles.nice!!!!

  • the beatles.nice

  • Where did u find a heater for $8 ???? ALL I SEE Its AROUND $20 :( i want a $8 heater lol :)

  • @TheChamoNY Got it at a reptile expo believe it or not they had fish supplies too.

  • @TheChamoNY i got a 10g filter for 10 bucks at walmart, lol

  • @TheChamoNY nevermind, i forgot you said heater, but i saw some for 10 bucks

  • @TheChamoNY If you live in santa monica, visit Pets Of Wilshire. It has a heater for 12.36 (including tax) they have only one left though, I bought the 2nd to last one, and they've been there for a while because they had a hell of a lot of dust on them. they aren't gonna restock soon, I assure you that.the heaters have been there for 2 years., but work great!

  • is it ok if i start of with 1 male and 3 female

  • Great info!! thanks!!.....

  • how long do the frys have to hide till than can be with the adults what size do they have to be like 1/4 or 1/2

  • @mrwhatnottodo The fry will have to be either kept in another tank for about 2 months or until they aren't small enough to be eaten. If you just let them hide for a while most will die from being eaten

  • @LilKolo523 you dont need to seperate the fry from the parents! i have found out that live barers will not eat their own young! this only aplies if you keep your fish well to almost over feed. 2 times a day and the female and male will not eat them. problem is other fish will so if you have a different type of fish in your tank i recomend you seperate them. but other than that your good. =] mrfishlover14 here to help.

  • @mrwhatnottodo i leave all my fry in the same tank ive never taken them out if you leave them in the tank the guppies will get use to seeing fry and wont even bother to eat them ofcourse keep your fish well fed and also put lots of floating plantsfor hiding i have a huge cluster of plants skinny plants i never replanted they just float at top of tank and babies also look for cool hiding spots and will do fine.also hiding spots encourage breading p.s worse case you can ad them in after a month

  • should i put the breeding net floating in the tank?

  • @TheLizardboy12 not necessarily, look at videos titled "guppy breeding trap" or something like that and they should show you.

  • Very informative and I LOVE the song choice! Beatles forever!

  • wait are guppys tropical fish?!?! do they have to be in warm water!?!?! i just bought guppys and they are in mild water right now!!! (room temperature water) plz help!

  • @Mrgarfield423 Yes they are tropical fish, the won't die in room temp., but you should get a heater asap.

  • Okay I just want to share my experiences (=

I use maybe a 5-8 gallon tank with a medium sized cheap filter, a heater, some fake grass, and rocks. I started with 2 guppies and ended up with like 20 haha Anyway I just had the pair in the tank and they did it themselves.....no special equipment etc. and they all grew up fine... unfortunately some did get sucked up into the filter but I can't really change that

  • @Haley143ily I have a question about your baby Guppies. Did you have to feed them live foods or flake food or what? Thanks for your help!

  • @AnimalGirl328 All you do is take some regular flake food and crunch it up into tiny bits =)

  • 10$ filter no way

  • @ThePastaManCan THANKS ALBERT EISTEIN!

  • This IS Wrong :/ You Need A Litre Per Inch Of Fish + You Need 2.5 Female To 1 Male Ratio :)

You Give The Guppies Hardboiled Yolk And Keep The Heater Up On 32 For The First 3 Weeks To Help The Growth . . . This WILL Keep All The Babys Alive And Healthy :)

  • @ThePastaManCan ratio should be 3 females to 1 male because the females can get stressed out from the male chasing them all day. I would advise you take the babies out and put them in their own tank if you want maximum fry survival.

  • @ThePastaManCan i also give the guppies brine shrimp

  • well my guppy had babies without ur things just room temp will be fine some plants real / fake n some stones / pebbles

  • @osensor Because your in Singapore, could be hotter generally than where this person is, room temperatures aren't the same around the world..

  • do you feed them the flakes or do you have to specially feed them ???

  • @mylzy7 flakes, crushed up flakes for the fry.

  • @mylzy7 At The First Couple Of Weeks Use Crushed Up HARDBOILED Egg Yolk Only Tiny Amounts . . . 8 A Day

+ Turn The Heating Up To Help Their Growth

  • after the female have done giving birth do i have to put them under treatment . and what i have to do

  • @hectorgroldan all you have to do is put them back in the tank after a couple days of rest.

  • In my opinion, that big gravel is not a good idea. The fry may fall in the gaps, although it usually tries to be on the water surface :-)

  • Very informative. Good job.

  • you have the same tank as I do even the lid is the same colour ahahaha :)

  • are guppies very, VERY similar to Platys?

  • @huppypuppy1 Yes they are in the same sub-family

  • yay i got all the stuff i need :)

  • my heater alone costs 40.38 -__-

  • That's very helpful :)

One question, how does the breeding net work?

  • @singleigh Just type into youtube "breeding net" or something like that and it will show you how it works

  • is it okay for me to move the adults into a different tank?

  • @imjustdadriver Yes that would good

  • @LilKolo523 thanks

  • @LilKolo523 thanks

  • do you NEED all of the stuff on the vid? because i want to breed guppies but my dad doesn't want spend that much money

  • @3829882 Let me put it this way, you could just get a tank and fill it with water and guppies, but your going to run into a lot of problems. First your guppies will be unhealthy because the water is not clean because you didnt buy water cleaner. Second your without a filter your guppies will be unhealthy. Third without a heater they might die. Fourth even if they do breed and there are babies the babies will be eaten by the parents because you didnt get gravel or plants. So the answer is YES

  • @LilKolo523 Dude im a fish breeder myself i dont touch guppies because they are prone to disease im not saying yours have any but thats a fact. But my breeding setup consists of 20 2ft tanks a high volume airpump running filters i chose the air filtration system to eliminate and isolate diseased fish more work maintaining but thts the price u pay for quality that filter u got in there is a common fry killer i had one and it was causing me flow problems it was cleaned regularly. GL with ur guppys

  • @3829882 YES

  • @LilKolo523 Dude a word of advice switch ur filter for an air pump and foam bubbler u will have more fry per batch i bet u get a few stuck to the filter when they breed not just dead ones and dont forget to use EASYLIFE a stoned fish is a happy fish lol.

  • @Internettroll1 In the video my fry are in a different tank. Second an air pump is a good idea,BUT without a filter your fish aren't going to last long. Besides many filters pump air into the water so if you can get one that does that that i have in the video, you really dont need an air pump

  • @LilKolo523or you could put tights over the filter to keep it going, and so your guppies wont get sucked in.

  • BREEDING NET IS IT MANDATORY OR IMPORTANT

  • @layerba714 well heres the deal: Breeding net you dont have to constantly look for fry and you are guaranteed all the fry are safe. No breeding net: you have to have a very well planted aquaruim for the fry to hide, you have to constantly look for fry. So i'd say either make one or just spend the 5$ on the real one

  • ALSO! what do fry eat the same food as the adult or special food

  • HELP! so the filter, wont that kill the fry and also water cleaner isnt that the thing to remove the chlorine

  • so can u put the fish that just gave birth into the tank with the male and then leave the fry in the breeding thing by themselves?

  • can you use real plants? I have a wisteria and a Amazon sword plant. 10 gallon tank.

  • @Theodosia2839 Yes you can, real plants are actually better because the some what filter the water

  • Comment removed

  • i have a male and a female in a breeding trap thinggy... it will seperate the eggs from the parents if any mating happens....

but.. will they mate? how long does it take usually?

  • @Kikyo361 well first of all, guppies don't lay eggs, they give birth to live babies. Secondly guppies will mate if you have them in a coffee cup, just kidding of course, but if you have male and a female they WILL breed and if you mean how long until you see babies from the female it's about 1 month after the mating proceses

  • @LilKolo523 omfg live birth... i gota gover up my fliter then !!

  • i have some guppies in a community tank that are soposed to be male. but a couple of them are nudging and playing. they have known eachother for about 4 weeks. i just hope one is female -- i don't want gay fish!! so should i seperate them to another tank and hope for the best?

  • @zunedog31 one of them is probably a female, but if you want to you could separate them..

  • how do u know when to put the female guppy in breeding trap when realy fat??

  • what size tank is that please? i got a 6 gallon glass cube for my 12 guppy fry =]

  • @shorteeayy i think its about 4gallons

  • found you

  • Any advice for someone who has 2 guppies, a female "Fancy Mixed Guppy", and a male "Blonde Guppy"? I've wanted to try breeding them just to see what happens, and sell a few for 10 cent profits.

  • @MentalWyro P.S. I checked my female guppy, and it's a brownish gravid spot instead of the black gravid spot people usually see. Is that normal or will it not work?

  • @MentalWyro Perfectly fine

  • @MentalWyro just out then together and everything else sound fine

  • wow, a heater for $8 dollars, damn, i dont where you live but i live in sacramento, califonia, and a heater over here costs like 12.99 a piece..thats a kool video..goodluck!

  • i am trying to breed my guppies

i have all the stuff needed

my guppies died except for two am going to breed them

    to get the population back

    i have a yellow male

    and a halfblak female

    got any advice

and is tis going to work

  • @GuppyNovice Sounds pretty good to me i would suggest getting a another female so you will get more fry and so there is less stress on the females other than that your good to go

  • guppies survive without heater :D my guppy frys are on a separate smaller tank with no heater and when they are full grown u put them in your tank like you would do to your Purchased fish and by that i mean clymatizing

    Good breeding and aquarium keeping

  • in the breeding net

    1) dont i need to get some oxygen in to the water

    2) if yes how do i do it?

3)if no: then aint there a chance for them to die?!

  • @jack23ass12boy No, if you have a filter it will provide plenty of oxygen and even without one the fish will survive

  • could you also use a seperate tank for the fry ?

  • cute, and i liked the song also

  • if i have 2 male and 1 female, can to breed??:D thx

  • @okecko yeah sure, it should be okay

  • DO U NEED A HEATER WIT UR GUPPIES

  • @234445IrIsHfIsHeRmAn yes, but you can just get a cheap 10$ one

  • Do u need an air pump?

  • @CottonCandy0087 no, but an air pump does help although you don't really need it

  • heaters cost much more then 8 bucks

  • ok so lets say i have lil fry. Can i move the older parents into a different tank? also, what do i feed the fry?

  • @Fr0z3nBarrage yes, definitely move the parents they will eat their own fry if not moved. In terms of what to feed the fry you could simply crush up fish flakes into a powder or take a hard boiled egg and take the yolk and mix it with some water to get a paste and feed TINY amounts of it to fry

  • @YugiohGeek123 usually that means that they are breeding
