It's more than just Simone's voice that makes her one of the top Female fronted metal singers. She's got tons of energy, sings well and can totally put the crowd under her spell. Those who say that she sounds worse than Amanda should bear in mind that it is extremely tough for one to sing in so many tours on stage for as much as 1,5 hours. If you need proof try it out home, alone and sing while headbanging etc. I would like to see how many of you are left breathless after singing but one song.
I've never liked Epica's songs, but it songs very nice with Amanda. So now I think i disliked Epica because of Simone, it was her fault like a singer .... Amanda made sound more better and energetic. IMXO

No, Simone was in 2008 very ill, she had MRSA(bacterial infection) , so Amanda was singing this tour instead of her. Now, Simone is healthy, so she can sing and Amanda returns to be a vocalist. I dont like Amanda too, she looks like hippo and I dont like her voice.

@MeAmie94 Of course not, it would be like comparing oranges with rotten apples. There is a CLEAR reason why they can't be compared, they are in completely different leagues. I mean, Amanda is working with Metal God Michael Kiske and Simone...well, she's not. It would be unfair to compare because Simone's relatively new to the scene and still has a long road ahead.

@arturesteve I am a vey big fan of both of them, but their voicaes are very different, Amanda isn't able to sing Epica songs, because of Simone, which has a brighter, more clear voice, which makes it sound like... well, not good! But I love Amanda's songs, and the work shw does with Micheal, but for me it will still always be Simone :) But that's just me (:

@siemjelle Of course she CAN, but it sounds wrong when you've already heard Simone's version. That is my point :P She has an amazing voice and would be able to sing whatever she likes, but her voice is not as clear as Simone's, and that's why it sounds weird... :)

@cutekitty69 Amanda is Simone's Voice coach and close friend to all of the Epica band members. If I recall correctly, she is an American citizen living in Germany...
Who else would they have picked until Simone healed? Hope that helps a bit...

No, Simone was in 2008 very ill, she had MRSA(bacterial infection) , so Amanda was singing this tour instead of her. Now, Simone is healthy, so she can sing and Amanda returns to be a vocalist. I dont like Amanda too, she looks like hippo and I dont like her voice.
