  • yyeeee man i 'like this son'g

  • Idrc what this song means but it just sounds cool i heard it on Pandora

  • It's actually about him being in love with a lesbian.

  • Anyone else notice a similarity to the ending of the Imperial March at the beginning?

  • @TheVerisimilitude it's actually taken from a very old trumpet song (i think from the 1920's) and the Imperial March adopted the melody. This is the same melody but adopted from the old song, not the Imperial March.

  • First time I heard this song I thought it was a man singing about what his soon to be ex pregnant girl is telling him...that they could no longer be a. Couple....dope song i hope i got it right.... ;)

  • I am a 90s child the backbeat is very familiar. I know I have heard it before but I have no memory of the song atall.

  • @xman51000 No problem lol. I was curious about it too when I first heard it so I spent a little time on Google and found out. Great song though :) Thanks for uploading.

  • FYI, this song is a breakup letter he received from his ex and he turned it into a song.

  • @ShannonW215 Bless You Shannon!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER been able to figure out what this song was about, thanks for the clarification.......driving me crazy.....thanks again!!!!!

  • I always thought this song was written from a gay man's perspective...written to a man who's gay undercover...though when sings about "maybe it's in your genes" that would indicate being written by a woman whose lover impregnated and abandoned her [as in the official video for this song]. but whatever - if you're pissed off at your lover, this song works.

    thanks for posting.

  • I absolute-ly LOVE the font. What's it called?

  • @NekoChanSenpai Absolutely is one word, not hyphenated. Sorry, I felt like I had to point that out, lol. :)

  • @TakZach Yeah, sorry, I just have trouble with suffixes, I know it's one word, smartass.

  • @NekoChanSenpai Good God, relax. I didn't mean it in a smartass way. I just wanted to point it out before someone who meant it in a smartass way did. I was only letting you know. Although with the population of entire moronic "trolls" throughout the internet, I don't blame you. Sorry.

  • @NekoChanSenpai

It's called Freebooter. I think I got it from 1001 Free Fonts

  • KURWA GENIALNE!!!

  • Buena canción sin importar el sentido que le da cada uno..

  • No this song is about a letter the girl wrote to the guy! And he's basically reading her letter

  • Ohhhhhhhhhh.

  • yes I think so that's right

  • It's a song about a lesbian he wanted to be with.

  • envoutante cette chanson de White Town.Quand elle est sortie j'ai flashé et c'est encore le cas...

  • this song of white town is so good with its lyrics of a woman sing by a man!and those rythm and melody...Excellent comme on dit en francais...a dream!!!a real musical dream!thanks o lot white town!!

  • According to Pandora's info on this, this song was inspired by the singer's crush on one of his lesbian friends...

  • my friends say that this song sucks...well...FUK THEM!!!THIS IS AN AWESOME SONG!!!XXXDDD

  • It sucks to be gay and like a straight guy, huh? Like Icarus trying to touch the sun.

  • well, my best friend NEVER liked YOU from the start,i wish i could say the same, you always knew you held my heart, your charming & handsome.. u fucking played me u son of a bitch... shoulda listened to my best friend.... now i'll never be your woman. big loss to nyou arsehole!

  • cool song!

  • weird to some or not, this is a one of a kind tune, Funk mix of melodies.

  • @Zaphod4100 and i do believe it is a man singing about an experience and perspective of some woman he may or may not know personally.

  • I am a guy, I stand at 6'4", and i sing this song in front of girls and guys. It's that good.

  • This is a trippy fucking song

  • what a weird, but amazing song.

  • Open to free interpretation

  • i always thought it said i could never be a woman.

  • Thumbs up if you found about this song from the film "I Could Never Be Your Woman."

  • Only the pope hates this song

  • no they r not gay. that portion of the song is when he is reading the letter that his ex left. u dumb shit

  • Is it me, or does the background music sound like the Imperial March? (Darth Vader's Theme)

  • it sounds like 2pac u cant see me .do u hear it in the backround

  • maybe he's gay??

  • ok thanks everyone for telling me whats it about

  • Anyone else think the parts without the singing that sounds a little weird sounds like part of darth vader theme?

  • I think he was inspired by Star Wars when he made the music

  • Dude just found out his g/f is gay. That Sucks

  • Pretty sure it's a guy singing about his failed affection for a lesbian.

  • @ComradeTiki Very creative explanation for the lyrics hehehee

  • If a woman had sung this song, i think it wouldn' t be so special...but now it' s different...

it' s an amazing inspiration! GENIUS!

  • this song always chills me out.. 90's music rocks

  • Sounds like Taco

  • best sounding version of this song i've found on youtube.

  • about dying

  • I'm sorry to say this, but is this a guy singing?

  • @BlackTshirtFan He's singing from a woman's perspective. Open your mind and it should help.

  • My personal understanding is that it's simply a break-up between couples with both perspectives clashing using hurtful words against each other. If I could make the music video to this creative song things would make sense from one perspective. Mine.

  • WHITE TOWN SAID THEMSELVES THAT THE MEANING OF THIS SONG IS UP TO THE LISTENER! so stop telling people they're wrong! :)

  • I guess the butt couldn't compete with the cut. Lolol. I know I know...

  • This song is about a gay man who was broken up by his bisexual partner and is singing about how he wishes he was the woman he can't be for him. Dur.

  • ok thanks ppl for telling me

  • The song is about a woman who has been cheated on trying to get revenge in some form from the woman's point of view.

  • i like that song but what is it about?

  • @l9tjmnzaao I don't know, but I think it's some guy saying that he wants to be some other guys woman. Maybe some questions are better left unanswered...

  • @UnrelentingBoredom This is a remake of a 1932 Bing Crosby song titled "My Woman". White Town's version seems to be more political than personal.

  • @UnrelentingBoredom naw man its about this guy who is in love with his lesbian friend. hes singing it like his the woman and shes the man. i googled it lmao

  • @l9tjmnzaao the song is sang from a woman's prospective

  • @ChocolateDoomToast67 I know it really doesn't sound like it but the singer IS actually a women. Really weird but if you look up White Town's other songs, its the same singer and she's female.

  • @ChocolateDoomToast67 it would sound less weirder if a girl sang it.

  • @ChocolateDoomToast67 Exactly right.

  • @l9tjmnzaao He doesn't want to be the bitch in the relationship.

  • @l9tjmnzaao , Tranzies

  • @l9tjmnzaao Its about a women saying that shes thru with the relationship... and that she realizes that she couldnt be with the person, its kinda weird cuz it sounds like a man singing it.. but i thik they did it that way so that it could be from a mans point of vew...idk but thats what i think..

  • @MisAtrocity805 the guy whos singing it is in love with a lesbian. so he made it sound like he was a woman.

  • @l9tjmnzaao It's a song that the writer wanted to make from different perspectives. Mostly, he just wanted a different kind of pop song, but it could be a man who is love with a lesbian, a gay man in love with a straight man, and so on. It's, like most songs, what you make out of it.

  • @l9tjmnzaao watch the video clip... i think you'll understand :)

  • @l9tjmnzaao That's what I'm still trying to figure out after all these years ♥♥

  • @l9tjmnzaao He's singing what his girl was telling him.

  • @l9tjmnzaao it's about a man telling a story from a womans point of view. why women put up with our crap. it's not cause the guy is gay or anything, just getting a point across about relationships.

  • @l9tjmnzaao It's what he was told, the crap women force us to put up with, you know when it's all our fault all the time and so forth....

  • @l9tjmnzaao hes pretty much putting himself in a womans shoe and seeing how men can sometimes be cruel and mistreat women.

  • wonderful song.
