how did you set up to record?

i have the same mixer and wanna record my mixes but dont know how to record.

did you use master out? or?

There are 2 master outputs. I use the second to record

@silvialain and what set up do u use to record? or program? ive tried putting the master out to the line in on my computer (same computer that i have torq running) and it doesnt sound right, do you use a dj program? or actual vinyls?

any help of ur whole set up would be nice, like do you go to a different computer or same computer? wut kind of cable? sorry for all the questions, i really want to record some stuff

I don't use any dj program. Only real vinyl or cds with the cdj. There are a few very good software to use for recording. Google for harddiscog or audacity. For as far as I know both are free to download.

Just put one of the master outputs into the "line in " input from computer , check levels and off you go ;)

@DBMguitar oh i do use audacity and it always has this like buzzing with the sound

and the levels can never be set right

i feel like maybe because i am plugging the music back into the same computer

What kinda mixer did you use before the djm-400?

Hi , and thanks for the nice message , before I was using a Stanton sk-one , I think it was rather a scratch based mixer. This is more clubby like :)

Heb je bijvoorbeeld een goeie site waar tracks staan die jij goed vindt?

Eigenlijk kan je altijd naar online musicstores zoeken , en daar al de nieuwste tracks voorbeluisteren , en ze dan bestellen ook. Misschien is dat de beste oplossing. Ikzelf heb ze echt gewoon in de muziekwinkel geluisterd en dan gekocht. Sommige tracks had ik al ergens gehoord , misschien op de radio. Bij ons is er een radio Topradio genaamd die alleen house speelt , echt goed :)

The new mixer is easier and has better possibilities with the eq , the old mixer just had low and high EQ , no kills at all , you allmost couldn't hear when I was eq-ing.

Congrats on being into the top 20 mate ! With just a bit of luck like myself , you will blow yourself in top position soon ;) Keep faith , and keep those nice mixes coming !

this isnt electro house in my eyes dude, maybe the deadmau 5 tracks..but even then theyre not your generic sounding stuff are they, obvious thought has been put into those! the other tracks are deep house and prog house (to me). but then thats just my own experiences of the sound coming through! REALLY like this, well mixed and good progression througout the set

Yes , I think you might be right , but there are soo many subgenres thesadays , that it's difficult to put tracks into a case , and give it a general name. There's electro house - electro trance , electro techno , tech house - trance - pfff can't get my head into finding what genre I played really , lol

Yaay ! Finaly , it's been for allmost a year in my wantlist thanks to you and then Johnathan made some awesome tutorials about this beauty. I played with the loop thing today , just wonderfull what you can do with it , and how it can "upgrade" the mixing. You have to know the old mixer didn't have any fx , no kill function , just low and high frequencies intead of high mid and low .. but it was better than nothing ha! Thanks Milan :)

Sometimes you have to slow down a bit :) I like faster stuff too , like hardhouse / hardstyle , even hardcore sometimes , but I can't buy everything sadly enough :/
