Simple way to test this "illusion": From the "top" of the hill, put your car in neutral and see if it rolls downhill. If not, then the fact that it rolls "uphill" begining at the marker pole is a false conclusion.
Optical Illusion, I measure the elevation using GPS and concluded the visual lowest point is actually the highest elevation. Water experiments proved the flow is going uphill.... final conclusion...OPTICAL ILLUSION. But still it is amazing.
