  • Spain is a Monarchy with a Prime Minister, no president.

  • @sagajagan True, but the Prime Minister is referred to as President, and the one who offered Obama this internship will go down as one, actuall the worst in history, which may explain a few things, and yes people I do know what the Onion is.

  • Global Leadership For Dummies xD

  • haha the spanish in the letter have some mistakes

  • I wish M Bachman is the next president of the USA, so that Onion can make these funny news stories again.

  • I am doing Spanish homework.

  • Hey_àNY_gÜys_wÅnt_tÖ_chÂt_wÌth_mÊ

  • Can anybody fluent in Spanish translate the letter of recommendation?

  • @Conway79 Dear USA, my time with your presidential candidate, Barack Obama has finished, and I am happy to say that he is good and prepared to lead your United States of America, if he is elected. During his time here, Mr Obama completed various tasks and exercises. Included in these tasks were archiving, photocopying and giving shoulder massages. If he was to become president, I am confident in saying that he is capable of performing these tasks. *continued*

  • @Conway79 *continued* When he started in my office, I never imaged he could reach the level he is at now. The best of luck to you and him in the next term of office.

I've missed out a few bits that were just unintelligible, it seems like they used an online translator to create the letter, or deliberately wrote it to look that way.

  • @hgkuttftftcfttghtghg Thanks! Muchas gracias!

  • anyone else noticed that Spain is actually a kingdom > no president in there

  • *I know this is fake* Gotta get that out there first! BUT Spain has a 20% unemployment rate and under Obama we have reached 10% so I can't help but laugh at the well chosen country for Obama to intern in!.

I don't know but would assume they are some form of a socialist state as well?

  • lol, that letter of recomendation was so badly written, it's like a first grader wrote it.

  • Obama was born in kenya, forged united states birth certificate, keeps lying about it, abused narcotic drugs, had gay sex while married to woman, conspired in deliberate swine flu release, made false promises to become president which he hasn’t done anything about, didn’t end the wars, didn’t end al qaeda, was funded by Saudi money, didn’t declare amount of funds raised for campaign, takes vacations on taxpayer money, hates white people, is a psycho, he killed his grandmother.

  • @eroftlf this is fake so no one gives a fuck

  • @eroftlf At first I was like, what the fuck is talking about, but as I read on I burst out laughing. You're either Joad Cressbeckler or this is a joke

  • @eroftlf lol, that sounds more like Bush ;p

  • Brilliant and well done.

  • I too wish we could return to a time when secretary ass slapping was the acceptable norm.

  • I love how these guys aren't opinionated, they make from of everyone.

  • "often eat lunch together"

  • If you actually look at polls on TV, many of them don't add up to 100%. There's rounding, polling error margins, standard deviation and a few other fine print disclaimers that really make the numbers meaningless if you think about them. Polls are the most fucking pointless things in the history of news.

  • hes old so hes qualified LOL

  • Political Demotivators: watch?v=Wu-3Eryt2pA

  • global leadership for dummies. lol

  • am I the only one who thinks "Global Leadership for Dummies" would be a more helpful book than the one by Bill Clinton?

  • I think everyone running for any political position should have to hand in an extensive resume. Sounds like a great idea to me.

  • "Bill Clinton is old, so he's all ready qualified to be president." Lol!!!

  • Wait... she wasn't filling in for some one else??

  • awesome make a joke about his inexperience and how some internships and references can be totally worthless.

  • Anyone else notice how in the "What concerns you the most about Barack Obama" that the percentages add up to more than 100%?

  • @rammice I guess they tried to show that EVERY voting compain is a fake... :P

  • obama is president thats only step one of the 2012 apocolipse

  • Can somebody please translate the letter of recommendation for me? This is the Onion-- their attention to detail is so good, that I would bet money that whatever it translates to is hysterical.

  • nothing too funny, just praise and saying he did some photocopying... :P

  • First half

    "Dear united states of America:

My time with your presidential candidate Barack Obama has ended and I'm happy to say he is convenient and prepared to run your united states of America, if he is your choice

During his time here, Mr. Obama completed various tasks and exercises, including in these tasks archived, photocopied, went to the massages of the post office and shoulder. If he was to become to be president, I am confident in indicating that he is capable in all of these things"

  • Second half

"Aditionally, and I would like to you for your patience and support for him, when he started in my office I never thought he would form up the way he has [wrong in spanish]

best of luck to you and him in this season next of election."

Source: Me, I'm Mexican :P the translation is "as is" and full of errors in Spanish (It's like reading engrish).

  • 1/2

    Dear USA,

My time with your presidential candidate, Barack Obama, has ended and I am happy to say he is prepared and convenient to lead your USA, if that is your choice.

During his time here, Mr. Obama complered several tasks and exercises. These included: filing papers, photocopying and sending messages to the post office. If he becomes president I am certain he can do these things.

  • 2/2

I also wish that you have patience with him and that you support him. When he first started in my office I never imagined he could improve the way he did.

I wish the best to you and him in this next election season.

    Sincerely,

(Spanish is my native tongue. I had to modify it so it could be understandable in English since it is poorly written in Spanish, but the message is there)

  • @sensoriussupremus Gracias.

  • I love how at 0:54, the percentages don't add up 100 xD

    8+3+7+89 = 107

  • @Harkian Just like fox.

  • @Harkian 107%! It's just like watching Fox News!

  • @Harkian +/- 7% error

  • @Harkian ARE YOU SAYING THE ONION MADE A MISTAKE! YOU SHALL BE HANGED!

  • The problem isn't his lack of experience so much, which is unprecedented in modern times, but his whacked out worldview and refusal to listen to the American public.

  • @Black70Fastback

    Yes. lol

  • @Black70Fastback Hells yeah!

  • spanish president....right

    =))

  • this video was enjoyable

  • lol anything's worth trying

  • BAHAHAHA, ah Eric you are my boi. And I do not know this Aaron fellow, but he's sounds pretty legit as well. But hey, liberals may control our government now, but at least us conservatives will always have truth and reason on our side.

... such as the reasoning abilities to know that this particular video isn't real : )

  • Ahhh Adam, you make me smile with your witty comments, that happen to be incredibly true.

  • "...still wont be ready for the presidency till he serves 6 terms in the senate [...] 2 terms as president..."

i love that last part "wont be ready for presidency til he serves 2 terms as president"

and the "mc cain is old so he is already qualified to be president"

that pretty much sums up the objections against obama during the elections "he is too young" experience had nothing to do with it.

  • *sigh*... people, The Onion's job ISN'T to try to confuse people into thinking it's real. No, they aren't "idiots" for saying things that (to some) are blatantly untrue, such as the "president of spain". This is a SATIRE, not some educational newscast. If you want accuracy, go read a textbook. :P

  • Good work. I enjoy seeing someone who is smart enough to...I don't know...use their brain? ha (:

  • Comment removed

  • I just think its funny how many people think these are real.

  • they are real damn you!

    ;]

  • Ha, yeah...sigh..the degradation of our society is clearly shown by the stupidity of all of those who get angry at these videos rather than laughing, as they should. It is a satire. A lampoon. It is no different than Family Guy, or South Park--except it is more thought out, trying to make it appear real, which adds tot he satirical humor. *sigh*

  • The "What concers you most?" poll is hilarious!!! Never been president before. lol

  • Nice one! But this gets a little too close to the truth. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Better just laugh.

  • mocking the fact that knowledge and experience are completely unnecessary to political campaigns

  • hahaha....I love this! Great....very funny...talented cast.

  • Gawd that Andrea Bennett chick is freaking gorgeous...

  • Andrea Bennett is hot! :)

  • She looks a bit like Penelope Cruz.

  • she looks like cuddy from 'house'

  • yep

  • That was pretty much on purpose....you notice the lack of President but not the hole "make up learn to a be a World leader Class"

  • Actually they were right because the offical title for the Spanish head of the executive is President of the Government and he is addressed as President -in Italy is the same thing and in both cases they are not Head of State.

  • "mccain is old so he is already qualified to be a president" haha

  • The Onion should make their jokes as real-sounding as possible and not say things like José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero is the President of Spain...

  • And how Spain wouldn't need a trade pact with Portugal because they're both part of the EEA. They have to be more clever to fool as many people as possible!

  • You know that is the name of the Spanish prime minister? Sounds pretty real to me.

  • You do know that there is no President of Spain? They need to sound more real.

  • And you need to be beaten with a crowbar. So you take care of that, and they'll be "more real" (thug lyfe).

  • I think they were going for over the top!!

  • leadership for dummies! LMFAO

  • yah he's doing fine

  • Can anybody translate the letter of recommendation?

  • basically

    he will be good president

he has done more than i thoght posible

    hes done stuff like photocopiing

    good luck

  • It looks like it was sent through google translate, so it's hard to tell what some parts are supposed to mean. In the list of his duties, it says he filed papers, made photocopies, and went to the massages of the post office and shoulder, whatever that is supposed to mean. And so the minister is confident that Obama will be able to do these tasks as President.

  • i love how the poll results dont add up to 100%

  • I think a lot of people missed the point of this video. This is actually a pro Obama video. The satire in this is showing how ludicrous it is that everyone's chief criticism of Obama is that he lacks experience. How can someone have presidential experience if he/she has never been a president before?

  • It's called political experience not "presidential experience."

  • Its still a valid point. He was a "community leader" which I don't know all the details of and a senator from Illinois for 2 whole years. whoop de do.

I can understand him being an ambassador, be it a secretary or on the foreghn relations board for the senate.

As far as I know he did neither. Other politicians had more experience

  • He won 365 to 173. That's all that matters. Either respect and support your new president, or as Michael Jackson would have said, "Beat It!"

  • I support whatever is best for the United States of America. Right now Obama is a mixed bag.

I have to show him respect, but I do not have to give it to him. Obama has to earn that respect first. The results have been mixed.

  • rofl @ "Global Leadership for Dummies"

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if such a book exists. xD

  • My favorite part is the bar graph. Oh simple math, you're always funny. XD

  • chill out people.... haha this videos are funny, :)

  • Why does everyone take The Onion so seriously? Its a joke news show that is not serious at all!

  • Yeah but their jokes are still controversial, and most of the time they are based on actual facts ;)

  • This so great!!! hahaha

  • Is this some form of counter-satire? Or are you just a fucking idiot?

ONN is not a news network.

  • This is just a joke dude it's funny and probably true just go with it.

  • Ok everyone - Ignore this guy SnubbyJoe. He's just going around trolling on every video making fun of President Obama.

  • your a zombie of the right.

  • The correct ideology will win in the end. Might is right :D

  • actually, SnubbyJoe, you're sort of making liberalism sound like something moronic-- don't be so naive, you poorly represent your party. I'm in no position to say whether liberalism is "good" or "bad", but you certainly don't make it seem all too great with your hasty judgement and lack of proper reasoning.

  • Aaron0271, I am of firm belief that the liberal party is based on hasty judgement and lack of proper reasoning. Hence, Obama writing a complete healthcare reform and telling us to pass it right NOW. Hence, Obama sending more troops over to Iraq, when he said during his campaign that he would not do that. Hence, our economy not improving at all from what our President and Congress have done. With a government controlled completely by liberals, we're in trouble.

  • Hmm, you make a good point. To be honest I don't see why someone would WANT to be liberal, since it is a rather skeptical and biased viewpoint-- but I suppose that is just my experience with individuals; perhaps there is more to it than that. Obama isn't doing too great of a job, but I hope and pray that it is because he needs more time. I may not agree with his policies, but it is still my job as an American to try to support him, I suppose. :-/

  • The only reason anybody would want to be liberal is because they are lazy and want money handed to them so they don't have to work. I'm not being biased, just using common sense. I agree, I fully support Obama, and I want him to succeed. However I don't want him to succeed in the things he has done so far. If you get the chance to read the Rolling Stone article on him in one of the recent magazines. I already didn't like him, but the article opened my eyes to what he has been doing so far.

  • thank you!

  • Actually they are making fun of Obama because people were criticizing him for being to young or inexperienced to lead. If you listened they said that Clinton didn't need to take classes because she was old. So this was defending Obama.

  • @SnubbyJoe: This was posted in the midst of the presidential race (Oct 2008) and if you look at other videos from The Onion you'll notice that they make blatant attacks at McCain too. Don't get so uptight, dude.

  • They were actually making fun of the critics who claim he lacks experience. And took a shot at the people who don't say the same for McCain because "He's old."

    Relax man.

  • Either you're joking or you're an Obama Zombie. You can criticize something without being against it, nothing and no one is perfect.

  • "I like penises"- AfroninjaX

  • "never been president before" hahaha

  • is this real?

  • yes

  • lol

  • George Bush..Obama.. whats the difference, Obama is doing the same shit or worse. Change, what a fucking lying piece of shit.

  • You are a fucking retard. Tell me, how long has he been in office? How long does he have left in office?

  • The spanish in that letter of recommendation was intermediate at best

  • lol "senator Mccain is old so he's already qualified to lead the nation"

  • haha when i first read the title of this clip i thought it was going to be about president obama hiring and intern, like a bill Clinton joke lol

  • ...

  • WTF

  • iv been praying for a job for 2months, where the hells god been on this one

  • Are you seeking God's will in finding a job?

  • i have- but then i havent really improved my lifestyle since i started praying.. i know its not gods fault its mine i wasnt really serious with me "wheres god been on that one" i was just being difficult lol

  • 'God helps people who help themselves' - Chuck Norris

  • MAN this is great stuff

  • I hope everyone realizes this is fake.

  • The Onion news is fake?!?! You mean scientists aren't breeding giant crabs for construction projects? You've shattered my reality, sir.

  • Hahahaha, sorry I just had to mention it because some people only saw one video and somehow believed it. :)

  • I voted for Obama and now I'm sorry I did. I thought he'd be different. I thought he'd go to Washington and take charge. I thought he'd take on the old school politicians and run our country more efficiently. He lied to all of us. I'm disgusted with him. I'll never vote for him again.

  • Wow, you really believed him, eh? He certainly has been taking charge though. I don't know how you can fault him for that.

  • Obama sucks and has no idea how to do his job nut your just a low life and should go kill yourself.

  • Wow. that recommendation letter was very badly written. Awesome.

  • rofl

  • The Onion is win!

  • Canada's health care system is socialist, no doubt about it. The Medicaid system in America leads to so much waste and corruption in the government. It's just disgusting!

  • agreed.

ever seen Michael Moore's "Sicko"? if not then i would highly recomend it. it sheds some much needed light.

  • Michael moore is an idiot. its a completely biased view and there is a ton of it that is misleading in some ways. Don't get me wrong i don't completely disagree with everything he says just its a biased view, but I guess what isn't bias these days.

  • Fox is non-bias, I've never seen fox air any bias story.

  • eh the last thing i would ever say is a mainstream media not being bias in some form or another. The 2008 election is a good election with how they ignore independent parties and only focus on the 2 mainstream parties....which we really didnt get much of a choice with...

  • there all bias bud, even fox

  • yah, duh. Fox is the most bias new source out there.

  • his views are biased, but his statistics are true.

he merely provides them so people can make up their own minds.

  • Moore's view is completely biased, but I don't think he presents it as anything else. He's not a journalist, he's a film maker. I think the definition of "opinion" pretty much includes bias, and his movies reflect his opinions.

  • Wow you guys down there who go on hate trips over Canada's health care system... let me tell you something...

THERE IS A REASON WHY PREGNANT WOMEN IN CANADA DO NOT OFTEN TRAVEL INTO THE STATES. If they went into labor early and had to give birth in the States, they would lose their life savings!

Wait times are not like they're made out to be by your wicked anti-worker American government propaganda. We don't believe that rich people are the only ones who should have access to health care.

  • obama didnt win because he is black. he didnt win because of his age. nor did he win because of his promises. he won because he is not Bush.

obama will do fine as a president, but people expect too much of the poor guy.

  • but he wasn't against bush. he was running against McCain who last time I checked, is not Bush.

  • but mccain is a republican, like bush.

  • That doesn't make him the same person as Bush. I mean out of him and McCain; who would you pick?

  • that would be a really hard choice, but of course i'd go with mccain.

but out of obama and mccain, whom is least like bush?

    exactly.

  • XD "McCain's old, he already qualifies to run a country."

  • lol @ "senator mcain is old so hes already qualified to be a president"

  • lol I paused on the letter of rec and it said his duties were to make photocopies and handle the mail lol

It was written in spanish though
