That is a Cobra very "LOW' PRICE END MODEL and at 0:15 you can clearly see the stupidest mounting position ever tilted in a very high angle. I HAVE A FUCKING COBRA YOU STUPID FUCKING PERSON OF THIS YOUTUBE AND I DO KNOW HOW TO USE ALL RADAR DETECTOR AND KNOW HOW TO MOUNT THEM. THE BEST MOUNTING PLACE IS VERY LOW TO THE DASH AND HIGH ENOUGH SO THE REAR SEAT CAN NOT BLOCK IT AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT STRAIGHT AND NOT ANGLE TOO MUCH.

I know Valentines are the best but when mounted right and not driving like an idiot

they work fine.

@johnpa2006 I just bought the escort 9500ix, it saved me twice...but one time I went over a "hill" and state trooper was right there...luckily I was not speeding but that "HILL" ( i live in Orlando - not much or a hill more like an overpass ) blocked the cops radar and I could have been busted.

Last I saw with Valentines you need to tap the volume dial every time to acknowledge the

Not as Annoying as a junky Cobra Going off to late to do anything!!! Them things are junk. Throw on a bunch of so called features except it doesn't do very well the most importing thing, Detecting Radar as quickly as possible to warn you in enough time to slow down if need be.

This guy with his Cobra pointing up, well it's doing just about as good as if it was pointing straight ahead! Pretty silly, but I've seen other just as bad locations.

It picked up all radar just fine, no lateness, no lag.

Like I've said before its saved me a bunch of time, well in advance.

I finally got a Valentine, love it.

Cobra may not be a uber as Valentine, obviously but it gets the job done.

My a local police run traps and leave KA radar on. with my cobra and valentine I pick him up well in advance of his "kill zone". When mounted properly radars work great. This goes for all

Hey take it easy. It (the extreme angel) will work more than adequately for MOST radar (not "stalker" however). Probably no good for laser detection (although nothing is) . The "Cobra" is plenty sensitive. As for you (the verbose driver in this video), keep your eyes on the road. Imagine if you saw Pamela Anderson walking down the street. You would be rolled over in a ditch. Maybe take taxis and avoid the ticket issue altogether.

Saved me from a North Carolina State Trooper the second day! Gave me a good three to four minute warning, I didn't know were the trooper was then out of the blue he comes flying past me in black and gray hemi charger from behind!

i actually just bought my first radar detector it happens to be a cobra ( i dont know y people seem to hate them so much) but i didnt want to spend hundreds of bucks the one i got was 50 and its fine i actually have it mounted right from what ive been told in the middle of the windshield with a clear view out the back. the guy in this vid was just embarrassing. at least when i mount mine its straight.

Maybe he was having trouble hearing the detector since Cobra's use crappy speakers in their units. lol I had to change my speaker out in my ESD9210, I used Mcdonalds toy slim speaker and it lasted longer than the OEM speaker. lol

I've owned a 9500ix for a while now, and it's great. Common sense, however is really all it takes to mount a radar detector.

One thing about the 9500ix that you may or may not know about is that once in a while my car horn will set off the laser detection. Mounted high or low, it still does it.

The thing about it is, i beeped at one person, and about 30 seconds later beeped at another and the 9500ix alerted to laser. Weird huh?

@v8nman The aircraft doesn't transmit any detectable signal for this system. They simply have predetermined landmarks with a known distance between them and they time target vehicles from point A to point B. Of course speed is distance over time, so with a known distance and a measured time, they can calculate your speed. It's a system called VASCAR (Visual Average Speed Computer and Recorder).
