  • how old was Tony in this flick??? late 30's? still has that boyishly cute face & smile.

  • Becareful Yossarian that's Norman Bates dude.

  • Super klassz könyv-tökéletes film!!!*******

  • is the movie a good representation of the book?

  • @Flickerfly The opening line in the book is:

"It was love at first sight. The first time Yossarian saw the chaplain he fell madly in love with him."

  • Was that urine... Soo not funny

    :D

  • the book is amazing, one of the best novels ever. The movie I feel could be redone much better these days but maybe thats just me.

  • @BuonoBruttoCattivo77 yeah it could... but if they would try it, they will fail and butcher the story completely....

  • sigh. col. cathhart had the cigarette holder, not korn. plus the guy removes his cigarette twice, there at the end.. continuity wasn't an issue, i guess...

  • The lake scene is the most bizarre thing i have ever scene, a very strange film but brilliant. Is it a comedy or horror?.

  • The book/movie is where I got my screen name.Because everything in my life is Catch-22

  • great movie freebie and the bean another awesome movie by alan arkin

  • T. S. Elliot

  • @AManWithABigUsername Washington Irving

  • Leonard Maltin was right. This movie is heavy-handed.

  • Oh my gosh this is hillarious.

  • ...Yossarian lost his nerve as Snowden lost his guts...

  • One of my all time favorites with Dr. Strangelove following it up a close second, great flick they don't make like this one anymore shame.

  • HAHAAH Obamacare!!!!

  • This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

  • the book was way crazier.

  • Psychologically disturbed people, problems and murderers were well interpreted by Perkins.

He did not fit interpret "good guys" in movies.

And that has made him a good actor, I LOVE the villains in the movies hehehe...

  • the brilliant joke underlying this is that Anthony Perkins was also famous for Psycho.....

  • the chaplain is the shiz. and a cute shiz at that.

  • i love u tony.♥

  • Pretty much the best scenes in a criminally under rated film. I would add the scene where General Dreedle enters the briefing room and orders the men to take Maj. Danby out and shoot him is hilarious. And the old pimp scene where the pimp tells Nately the Italians will win the war by losing it.

  • @cordedpoodle I like your term 'Criminally Underrated', I'd have to agree!!!!

  • Note the photograph in the background in the scene where the Chaplin visits Major Major Major's office.

  • Sorry not in these clips. But check it out in the movie. Inside joke for the set designers.

  • Just noticed that Colonel Catchcart is that private eye named Abogast from Psycho. So where's Janet Leigh...? JK

  • 2:42-2:43 hilarious

  • Gawd he's a clutz, a very cute one tho

  • Is Dunbar like, not in the film?

  • strNGE BOOK

  • go Orr, you crazy SOB

  • Ah, yes... I owe my many fortunes to Milo Minderbinder's genius trading practices.

  • Who is the actor at 7:01 where he is dripping wet?

  • Bob Balaban. He was in Close Encounters of the Third Kind as Francois Truffaut's translator.

  • Also Seinfeld as the network exec who loses it over Elaine and joins green peace.

  • I've been eating chocolate covered cotton for years and I'm sound as a ball.

Oscar for LMS was way too late, Freeb and the Bean also.

    Well done AA.

    Light Hearted William.

  • Major Major Major Major

  • great adaptation of the book!

  • anyone know were to get this?

  • we are all Yossarian

  • man they should have had Rodney Dangerfield in this film!

  • Eh, Padre?

  • i loves orr!

  • I can't watch Balsam and Perkins in this and NOT think of Psycho!!

  • Those nurses...clearly they were not hired for their nursing skills.

  • god... i love this book, even though towards the end, the black humor mounts up until everything turns crazily depressing T.T

  • i think that's what makes it great though

it's fun but it's still war

  • Catch-22 is real. It is a hidden rule.

  • This book is what coined the term Catch 22.

  • this is perfect acting_ directing_editting_movie

  • casting

  • in the book the chaplain seems to make everyone "uncomfortable", thats why this is genius casting. Psycho himself, makes everyone uncomfortable...

  • hey thats alan arkin

  • in the book the first thing he does is says he is in love with the chaplain, that may be why.

  • gotta love the nurses recycling.

  • Milo's my favorite!!

  • Genius!!

How did Alan Arkin NOT become massive after this movie?

Absolute classic - both book and film.

  • Good point. Even though he won an oscar a year or two ago, and he has had a successfuly career in show business, Arkin never did rise to that upper echelon of "A-list" actors.

  • I love how the chaplain is so awkward.

  • what, no Korn?

Did I even spell that right?

    Bugger.

    It's late.

  • Oh, I wanted to watch this film, but after the vid I know I must not. The book is great, one of my faves, but the trailers are dissapointing for me :( Is the film like this short vid? The book is million times better then... (and sorry for my english, but I'm hungarian)

  • watch it its great

  • that is a an old complaint. the only solution is to read the book first, which you've done. Its a brilliant film, but they are two different mediums, and some things have to be different.

  • i loved the book

  • did you edit this? i miss the 'when im not here' scene.

but thanks for uploading it. orrs my favorite.

  • Where's the Major Major when I am not here scene?

  • Jon Voight was Milo, and yes, he is great.

  • that damn Milo Minderbinder, but the actor was great

  • Milo is a genius,because the genius is,everybody has a share

  • Is the wet guy Orr?

    :D

    aww I love Orr

  • ya the wet guy is Orr

  • i prefer martin balsam in another 1970 movie, tora, tora, tora.... hmmm but that might be patriotic..those ole germans didn't mean us no harm..

  • perkins looks a lot like christian bale

  • Good film, ridiculously excellent book.

  • i ♥ anthony!

    so freakin hott!

  • The book was extremely funny and this was a brave attempt to film it, but it could never do the book justice.

Highlights the start of the film with the bombers taking of on a mission at dawn, Milo being payed by the Germans to bomb and strafe his own base and General Dreedles Mitchell bomber with white wall tyres

  • this movie beats the shit

    outta MASH

  • but even MASH had a share!

  • All the kudos to this film and the master Joseph Heller

  • Colonel Korn was great, Milo Minderbinder was pretty good, and the Chaplain was more morose the way I pictured him.

  • Mike nichols did an amazing job, filming what was to many at the time an unfilmable book.I reckon that along with MASH its one of the greatest anti war films ever.I often wonder what ORSON WELLES take on it would have been like,he tried before Nicols to get it off the ground as director.

  • Sorry should have said please:)

  • Any chance of this Catch-22 film scene 'there was only one catch and that was Catch-22, if he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to.'

  • If you can, could you post Bob Newhart's Major Major going out the office window scene? We need that here for our recalcitrant supervisor :)

  • This is the exact sequence I was looking for. Thanks for posting it.

  • Perkins acted this part out perfectly. Just as I imagined his character in the book.

  • jon voight AND tony perkins in their prime..i think im in Heaven!

  • great movie man but you didn't include the part where Yossarian get a knee in the balls

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! And not just cuz Tony's in it ;-)
