  • Restored by you

  • Ellen Sutton sang it, His Sir-ship diddled the ivories. Search 'Ellen Sutton', and you'll find an upload of the 78. Top of the pops in its day. Everyone bought it, I gather. If there'd been charts, it would've been number one.

  • out of tune...

  • @redhot31121984 ...and pretty badly at that. If it's not in tune, what's the point?

  • @guitboxchicken : the point is that an organ out of tune plays badly the things. Mine has been out of tune, and now I am really happy to hear it playing better.

Too many people think that band organ always plays things in a bad way - being out of tune does not help

  • @redhot31121984 Exactly! If it doesn't play in tune, it might as well not play at all!

  • we also use this tune as an openng with our 33 keyless dean when we attend rallies and funfair events

  • beautifull organ ,

just realised over the past couple of days how much i love them.

  • ensharming

  • who sang this song ?

  • hubert pimm

  • Sir Hubert Pym

  • you put your left foot in you put your left foot out an shake it all about

  • @ttay1122 I somehow don't think those are the lyrics to this tune...

  • I was hoping you'd eventually post some footage of the organ. Sounds great to me.

  • What wonderful machine , you did a good job restoring this rare early musical computer

  • I know this tune but not the title......

  • Hi Nick,

The song is called: "I Wanna Say Hello"

This song is also on 2 song book on the 98 key Gavioli at Thursford.

    Ben :-)

  • Cheers Ben, many thanks for the info!

  • i assume you mean the gavioli in the gondola???They hav'nt got any other gaviolis and only one other 98 key.My favourite organ in the wrold,a 98 key marenghi

  • @dalekbitch Thursford does have another Gavioli, an 87 Key, it's in the ex-Fred Coupland Gallopers which have been at Thursford since 2003!

  • Nice video, sadly I don't know the name of the tune, though it is familiar. Just one question, why are there 2 sticks on the bell at the front?

  • Hi Thijsie! Well spotted; I haven't tubed up the second bell striker just yet, as when I have the façade and bandmaster fitted the bell is probably going to have to be moved, or at least struck in a different way. Both strikers you see actually use a spare note on the side of each glockenspiel chest, as I originally made the glock chests for the full 22-note melody section, before loosing the lowest two notes to suit the bars available and optimise the overall layout scheme. All the best, Nick.

  • @Thijsie92 The tune is called 'I wanna say hello', it is a Chiappa book but I do not know who the marker was, this arrangement is also on the 98 Key Gavioli on the Gondola switchback ride at Thursford.

  • @ceredigio Yes, I saw that when it was posted 4 years ago.
