Heh, you thought the Master too :P (That's what they wanted you to think! Until they said that we'd never guess, then they wanted us to think that was too obvious...which it was...)
Either you're very small or they have gigantic creme eggs over there. I'd think that the USA would be the one to have the gigantic Cadbury Creme Eggs.
First time Lee Evans was ever funny in his life. Ok plot but needed to be more dark. And four knocks COME ON we all know means the Doctor will be locked in war with a door to door sales man.
great vid. seems like u had all your questions from the trailer reaction answered. I had to count the knocks right after i saw the show. (on the table with 2 fingers just like you know who)
about the doc not taking more companions: it's true for this doc, i don't need to list for u all the time he's (and 9) lost or nearly lost a companion or had one leave him. he particularly can't get over Rose, so he don't want any more companions. when he regens of course all bets are off.
Good enough, but we need a return to silence in the library/blink. I also loved the WW1 two parter and the werewolf one- can't recall the names now, but they were very well made and acted. I think DW should be written for adults, with children in mind, rather than the other way around. OR it could be that I prefer dark and gritty way too much...
I liked Christina, great companion! absolutely loved Lee Evans' character, bring Malcom back please! I have to be honest my first reaction was that it looked a bit like 'pitch black' meets 'flight of the phoenix', but I loved it none the less. It was a good sort of last bit of fun before it gets too serious, still slightly confused about the 4 nocks thing, r u thinking this is a refrence to the master! All in all I loved it, David tennant FANTASTIC! as allways & the kiss" who wouldn't" I would!
i gota say how nice it is to see the interest in our show. i was a fan back in 87 and to lots of people it was worse than being a nonce.... well maybe not that bad but you get the message. you all keep loving this show and it will never end. nearly 50 years old. think about it, its people like you that kept it going years ago so dont stop loving this fantastic show. torch is gladly passed. oh the 4 knocks aint the master. its odd sigma. but the master is around. much love!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Well, I dunno...I thought Christina was completely too far up her own backside, BUT I still loved the episode. It wasn't the best episode ever, but it wasn't trying to be. It was trying to be fun. And it was! I'm just...glad he said no to Christina is all, but she didn't ruin the episode for me. Malcolm and Captain Magambo far made up for it.

I love Skins and Doctor Who they are my 2 favorite shows and im so happy that there kind of meshing to gether with people from Doctor Who appearing in Skins and people from Skins appearing in Doctor Who.
I heard reviews for the episode before i saw it, so i had low expectations, but i didn't really like the episode, it was OK, but not good enough for the only episode until november(?) Christina seemed a bit too cocky, like she knew he would ask her to come with him, so i was glad when The Doctor said no.
I thought Malcolm was great though, and i'd like to see him and the two boys that the doctor recommended to UNIT again.
I think the sound of drums knocking would be too obvious, but i don't know
I think it was a bit too easy for her to steal the thing at the start. Would they really not put somthing over the top of it? Also a police car that has doors that can be unlocked from the inside. I know it's nit picking. But it did annoy me. But good episode all the same.
Well, with everything else that happens in this episode, the writers need her to steal it quickly. She still decended from a roof about four stories up, over a plinth surrounded by lasers and security guards, swaps the cup with her bag without triggering alarms, and rises back up to the ceiling. I don't think they made it too easy. Besides it's meant to be a bit of fun to kick the episode off. Best not to stress the details. Loved the episode too.
I loved this video because you pretty much summed up my own opinion of the episode. Even though this episode wasn't spectacular, it still wasn't horrible and kind of what I expected.
Every time the Doctor gets a new companion, there always has to be a kiss, I don't get it. Granted I would definitely have done the same, but seriously come on.
Yeah. Well, Four beats to be precise. Four beats to a bar. I reckon the master's back. The fans were quite unanimous in wanting him back anyway. Hail Fan Power!
Thieves who steal priceless artifacts will always be saved from receiving justice and be given flying buses by time-travelling aliens.
Seriously, what the hell? She did all she did to avoid prison and didn't really care about the Doctor. She's not going to learn her lesson, she'll just now have a flying bus to either sell or steal things using.
But she wasn't a criminal really, she never meant anyone any harm, It was the doctor who destroyed the cup, not her, and she won't need to steal things now, the bus will give her adventures. Sort of, Basically.
See for me, River Song was okay to be arrogant because she already had all this history with the Doctor, we just haven't seen it. But Christina didn't even know him xD
This kiss - haha, I agree, it was very in Christina's character, but just GAH. Or if the Doctor had at least had an alien response to it, instead of being do-eyed, that would have been fine.
"you can relate to the companion in some way most of the time" - I could feel you holding back a Martha rant <3
Cool review - I learned from the best! Timelords coming back? Well, we've only seen less than a quater of what happened in the Time War..... anything's possible. As long as it's not Adric.....
I loved this episode so much because it wasn't complicated you didn't have to concentrate and Christina is awesome. She is the best assistant the Doctor has had. She is the most useful by far. I liked how the episode ended.
I thought it was okay, i liked Michelle Ryan's character, it was a shame that she didn't become a more regular companion but i think it may be better this way, at least they've left it open for possible future appearances someday...maybe in Torchwood. There's a lot of things they can do with her character.
The christmas episode was s*** i really hated it. Sorry people who liked it. I was just sitting there the whole time thinking that Jason was such a loser Doctor (i'm not thick by the way i did understand it and it wasn't his fault but he was so annoying.
Luved it, It's one of those episodes u can't say was Amazing [like Midnight was for me] but you can't name something you didn't like about it. I cannot wait for the next few episodes, I think that the BBC are determined to make Russel T Davies and David Tenant go out with a bang and rightly so. They're both amazing :)
Good episode. My favourite bit was where the Doctor was talking to Malcolm and he was saying "Which was your favourite... the Giant Robot?" I love it when they go back to their older stories!!!
Speaking of Alllons-y Alonso, he said Allons-y again! And Lady de Souza gave him a lenghty reply in French. How cool is that?
Also, as for coming full circle like you say... He mentions stealing the TARDIS from his people and he reacts very enthusiastic when someone mentions a relative called Susan. Now THAT's full circle - all the way back to 1963!
Cool, fun episode. Not as clever story-wise as it could be, but that wasn't the aim here anyway. And hey... a flying London bus?! Top that!
This was a great episode! My favorite line was when the Doctor said something about people on buses never listening to him, because it was a little throwback to Midnight, which was an amazing episode!
Maybe I'm dim, but what does knocking have to do with the Master/the sound of drums? That's not knocking. I thought it was a coy reference to the four specials. Or maybe death. Or maybe Matt Smith will "say hello" four times before he actually regenerates. Anyway, the Master's a bit too obvious.
The Tritovore ship was my favorite part. I didn't like that the bus passengers mostly did nothing, especially... HELLO SUBTEXT... the black people at the back of the bus?? And the jumpsuits were naff.
I really liked Christina de Souza's character but i didn't like I like the episode. it was just like... okay bus goes through wormhole they have to fix the bus and get through the wormhole, they find out theres a storm of scary aliens coming, they find out how to fix the bus and get through the wormhole before the aliens come and kill them. over. i just feel like nothing actually happened. I loved that posh kenneth from skins was in it! that was amazing and i also loved malcolm. thats it..
I freaked out when I saw Posh Kenneth. Literally. Freaked out. I have to say my favorite part of the episode though was Malcolm. He made me laugh every second.
I filmed my own video this time around. It was fun!
I enjoyed the special. It was really fun and the storyline was nice, but I didn't really like Lady Christina. I thought the actress was great, but I wasn't feeling the character. :-/
I have a video that I filmed yesterday, that's currently uploading over slow wifi, but I enjoyed the episode as well. I also did really like the Lady Christina, and the levity of the episode, especially Doctor Malcolm. There was also a great referenced to the UNIT Robot storyline, which is the 4th Doctor's first arc. The very end was crazy, but the four knock thing was obvious to me.
I'll make video a response, but be warned that I recorded it right afterwards and kinda of spazed.
I know everyone at this point is assuming that the 4 knocks is the Master. It seems so obviously, with the sound of the drumming (and knowing that John Simm is returning). However, I was listening to the Podcast and at the end they kept going, 'Do you think you know what the 4 knocks are? 'Cause you'd be wrong. If you think you know what it means, you're wrong.' So it may just be more complicated than we're giving them credit, or they're just BSing to throw us off the trail. Interesting...
I thought the episode was good, but not as good as I would have liked from a special. Lady Christina was a good character in general, but she seemed a bit too much like an obvious choice of a companion, and didn't seem like your average jo. I also thought of the Master at the end, but it does seem a bit obvious, so as it's Doctor Who, I wouldn't bee too sure. xD
The cloister bell during the trailer for The Waters of Mars give a sense of a very dark story like I said below that the final stories of the 10th Doctor will have a darker mood within.

The cloister bell during the trailer for The Waters of Mars give a sense of a very dark story like I said below that the final stories of the 10th Doctor will have a darker mood within.
brandbat1988 2 years ago
Predictions based on the words of Carmen:
"Your Song is ending" = Possible appearance of River Song and the inevitable regeneration of the Doctor.
"it is returning, it is returning through the dark" = return of past character
"he will knock four times" = Possible return of the Master
If all three lines are related then it is possible that in the last two specials, The master will return and will kill the Doctor again.
The last episodes of 10th doctor will be dark.
more to come

I agree! Four knocks was a liiiiittle too obvious but I loved it all the same. It would be a smashing finale if he did.

I just hope John Simm tones it down a bit. He was WAY over the top last time. He should be more like "The joker" than a guy dancing to
Sissor Sisters!!! He's got to be scary!

yeah I liked his portrayal, but it just wasn't The Master. Maybe this time around, in the Master's new regeneration he'll be back to his old self.
