Any modern conveniences there at all like a operating gas station or a convenience store in case you wanna stop and gas up or get a snack or something. It looks like an awesome little town with loads of history but I did not see ( through your drive through ) anything new like a small store or anything. Looks like a fun drive though.
@Tm30w06 I've seen a gas station and small grocery / convenience store. I've only ever driven through. It's an interesting drive. I love driving through rural Nevada. Tonopah is just a bit north, and it's a lot bigger (in relative terms only). Make sure your car is in good shape!
cop gave me a bogus ticket there back in 93 or so..soon as i hit the city limit sign,he got right on my tail.they set the court date 3 weeks away,so no way i could get back there to fight it
@sabreyow I had a cop get on my tail once. He was about 5 feet off my bumper the whole way. They have little else to do. If you get tickets in Nevada in the future, call a local attorney. They can usually save you a point or two on your license for a reasonable fee; $50 or $75.
@adam1885282 it was probably the same cop lol..thanks,i didnt know that..once when going cross country from phoenix to new york,as soon as i hit clinton,oklahoma (just like goldfield.) a cop who was ALREADY giving a guy a ticket,saw me and another car comin,ran out in the highway and yelled at us to pull it over!!..so we did..he let the oklahoma plate guy go in 3 seconds,then came over to me,a out of state pathfinder with tinted windows..uh-oh..lol..told me i was doing 78 in a 60..
@adam1885282 i was doing 60 on cruise control not 78..i told him that and he flipped out,got me out of the car,called a k-9 unit and they dismantled my truck right in front of me..actually took the gas tank OFF the truck to search it and broke the seal and damaged it so it poured out gas.cost me $178 in clinton to fix it..i even called a lieutenant later on and he said,"oh well,send us a bill,maybe we'll pay it,maybe we wont".this was back in 98 or so.i just figured i better get out of clinton
