Ok people... Coonass = If youre from Louisiana or live in Louisiana and live by the Coonass code of conduct (Hunting, fishing, dancing, etc.) Cajun = Ancestors are from Nova Scotia. A cajun, whether he or she likes it or not, is a COONASS. On the other hand a Coonass is not necessarily a Cajun.  The only way a Coonass can be a Cajun is if their ancestors are from Nova Scotia.
