I agree 100%! There is nothing sigificant or deep about her lyrics. Why she is popular I'll never know! I always say today, there is nothing deep about what she says. Nor is her voice rhythemic, but all over the place. Nothing Hip Hop about this! Let her talk about deep Latino issues, what's happening amongst her own people, and stay out of Hip Hop and trying to think she understands black inner city hip hip men (boys) !
You say she needs to talk about her deep Latino issues...she is Afro-Cuban! You should first check out whom you are talking about! She was talking about what SHE likes. She is referring to HER preference. You are offended, but why? She talks about the feeling of loving that b-boy and the feeling she gets when with them!

I won't reply to any further responses to my post, as I know what I'm talking about and am 100% right, and I refuse to get in a play on play with words! Let's here stand up and rhyme about the real struggles of the AFRO CUBANS who first came to this country and how if they mirror ''Africans'' let's hear her rhyme about their still tarnish image. I'm sure you won't even get where I'm coming from, but that's O.K. ; you continue listening the her mindless babble!

I guess at some point I had to kick the habit
now I’m searching for the fifth element
hoping manhood and maturity will some how be a part of it

some day I do hope to find the perfect match for me
