Well Utahraptors are a little bigger than the ones on JP. The dinos they based the JP raptors on were Deinonychus. See when JP was being written, Deinonychus was temporarily lumped into the genus Velociraptor although just an extra large species. So I think that's where they got the idea from. The JP raptors are really Deinonychus.

They are described as two diferent species belonging to the same family.
