Don't worry about it. The far right has lost so much credibility in the United States that they can't make any criticisms in the political arena anymore. Since they can't do that, they are forced to turn their attention to other things like comedy. I'm quite happy - it's a sure sign that the far right has very little important to contribute anymore.

Aside from "religious freedom" none of the things that you mentioned where concerns of the founding fathers. And religious freedom isn't a concern of today's far right reactionaries, whose policies never really took off until the Republican party was hijacked by the Gingrich regime. In fact, up until the 20th century, conservatives had more in common with anarchist principles of the enlightenment, fought against wage slavery and for independence from business (Lincoln's position, for ex.)

Kathy's funny enough. I watch her show. However, I don't believe she is at heart, a good person. I don't mind if she's successful but I would never spend my money on her. Among other things I resent her attitude about gay men like somehow we belong to her: "my gays". Also, I would never purposely socialize with someone who is so controlling. There are better quality iconoclasts around. She's not the only rebel worth listening to.

Carson was a master of the interview and Letterman is just the opposite. How Letterman holds a grudge about not getting the Tonight Show way back when is beyond me. Listen to his questions... "What kind of things do you do when you come to the city?" And that's one of the highlights. And then the weakest applause KG says we agree with you on Palin. Worse than a slow motion car crash. Go Kathy! Go away Dave!
