  • music lost ..

    and never will reoccur

  • I was a friend of Mark" Edwards"in the early 80's and just found out all these years later that he passed in 1990...it saddens me ,but Im thankful to have known him...he was a great drummer and and wonderful person....RIP

  • @hymn2her : WHAT?!?!? Mark passed away? WHEN? What are the details?

I knew he broke his back in a motocross accident years ago and couldn't play anymore but I didn't know he died.

I'm shocked. I learned about how to really lock with a drummer because of Mark's tutoring and woodshedding with me before every Steeler rehearsal.

please email me wngdhussr @ yahoo.com OMG, I can't believe it.

    -Rik Fox- STEELER

  • This is my all time favorite metal album of all time! Steeler was and is bad fucking ass... LOVE this song. Metal rules

  • It should have been interesting to hear that song sung by Bonnet during the Alcatrazz period...This is a sort of Suffer Me! Great song!

  • @rideon77 Yes...it's Suffer Me, pretty much....or a prelude to Suffer Me

  • Yeah, lyrics and tabs would be great!

I've been searching for a long time now and haven't found anything.

Rik, it's an honour to see you here, having the possibility to 'meet' you. Is there any videos or something from any Steeler gigs? It would've been fun to watch!

Lastly I have to thank you for some great music, I think Yngwie was the reason I bought the album ("I remember, when I was back in Steeler.."). I managed to find and buy the CD, and I won't regret that!

    Respect!

  • y.j.m is wery great big talented person on guitar ın this world....

  • I need the lyrics from this song...

  • Im sure if you goolgle you will get them

  • @IvanHuizar

I'll see what I can do for you.

    Rik

  • I'd like to thank everyone for their continued support and keeping up the faith!

    Best to all,

    Rik Fox

  • Holy crap its nice to see one of you guys actually posting on here. I have been a big fan of Steeler since I was 15 "38 now". I used to play that album over and over lol. Rik you rule my man ... are you still doing anything these days?

  • Yngwie is the only reason I bought this album

  • The magic was lost when Yngwie wrapped his Jaguar around a tree, coming back from a beer run at 6:00am, after being up on blow for 2 days. He almost died, suffered major brain damage, was in a coma only to emerge partially paralyzed on his right side. I imagine had he not survived the accident, he would have become a bigger legend than Hendrix and Rhodes combined.

  • interesting.........................and true, he didnt harm the part of the brain responsible for talking shit though.........lol

  • @GirlSuperGenius : Yngwie's (then) GF called me when he got home from the hospital and asked me to please talk to him since he asked for me, which shocked me. We talked a while and that was the very last time I ever heard him being humble and glad to be alive. As soon as he recovered fully, it was like we never talked; he became a bigger insulting ego than ever. I guess he never really realized how lucky he was. Ronnie James Dio was the antithesis of Yngwie.

    -Rik Fox- STEELER

  • @GirlSuperGenius when was this? because he looked pretty damn good on that metal show during the 1st season. And his new stuff kicks ass still. So if he is partially paralyzed he won't be playing.

  • @GirlSuperGenius

Yeah, sadly you've got right, I mean he relesead some great albums, too but his best time was defenetifly in the 80's till his accident, but I still prefer his great music, back there he was the best now he's just great but his music isn't that unique !! cheers and keep on rock'n ;)

  • @chhrriissss He still makes great albums though. "Relentless" wasn't that good but "Perpetual Flame" was.

  • @Whackooyzero

yeah for sure, he is my biggest inspiraton !! and I'd say he is unique ;)

It's a shame that not so many peoples know him :( glad to see you do

    greetings

  • @chhrriissss not so many people know him? ur kidding right? hes 1 of the most talked about guitar players in the world. lol

  • @laithlaith91

Yeah, of course I know^^ but If you compare it to the mainstream shit which so many peoples listen, do you know what I'd like to say ?? Yngwie is my. absolute fav. guitarist, even I've got his sig. guitar !!! But it's a shame he does not come in radio or Tv like earles he does :(( I mean they call so many mainstream singer, that they've got talent and skills, and look an yngwie !!:(( That's what I wanted to say sry for my misunderstanding !! Guitar GOD !!

  • TRANSAMSTANCE, 'Serenade' actually sounds a lot like Hearts' 'Dog and Butterfly', then gets heavy at the mid point to the end...

    Great song...

    Thanks for bringing it up.

    Rik Fox

  • Saw Ron Keel supporting Y&T last night. His voice is REALLY good nowadays.

  • man i been looking for this song for a long time cool man.

  • didn't they open for DIO back in the early 80's?

  • Nope, we never did.

Almost opened up for Judas Priest, but they were having internal issues and it fizzled...

However, we went to the Roxy to see Y&T during their Black Tyger tour, and after hearing their opening theme 'From the Moon' is what inspired me to write our intro "Abduction". Essentially 2 notes; E to C. Mark Edwards got a higher percentage of the royalties for coming up with the name and Yngwie got the rest for playing the rest of the instruments on it. True Story.

    Rik Fox

  • so I remember Y&T opened up for DIO on his first two LA tours at the forum right? , but didn't you guys open for someone at the LA forum? I was too young to drive or hang out at the strip although I was snuck in a few times in the early 80's I felt like I was the shit walking outside the Rainbow and Whisky I felt like I belonged there. Steeler rocked! aside from that I had the WASP "animal 45 in a pig shape over 25years ago , am I wrong, it was a pig on the the actual 45 right?

  • Hi crookselp,

No we never opened up for anyone at the Forum, at least not while I was in the band. We did open for Hughes/Thrall for our first show with Yngwie and myself, and later opened for Vandenberg at the Roxy. That's about all we did as far opening for bigger bands at the time. Judas Priest was almost a go, but they were having internal management issues so that one fell thru, but that would have 'seriously' put us on the map.

    Thanks,

    Rik

  • i wonder if they took their name from the judas priest song of the same name?other bands used their songs for band names...

    running wild

    tyrant

  • killdozer, I really don't remember where Ron got the idea for naming the band STEELER, sorry...

    Cheers,

    Rik
