yeah they had a station on LA that did that played one new song and then one old song one after another, i think thats good so people or kids dont loose touch with where the music came from, and older heads can listten to something new and understand where they going with it
old to the new nice n smooth said now and before mr Afrika Bambaataa's says it this vid so do i as i have been buying vinyl records since 86 word., one Geebeats.
im thinking about moving to san fran just on the strength of AFRIKA BAMBAATAA walking around in this Amoemba store. alot of people n that store probably dont even know that this hip hop sacred human being is n their presence. this is a very special post right here. hip hop history right before your eyes. this OG wuz right there when it started. i hate it that he has to sit by n witness tha so called hip hopsters of this era dayumm near destroy it with their bullshit music. peace AFRIKA BAMBAATAA
I love this guy. This is the fourth Amoeba vid I've watched and these are great! Jam tips, wisdom, personalities, vinyl, what more can you ask for? Love it. :)
@KingYumYum wow... i had no idea about Spotify! i just looked it up wikipedia. i'm more old school i like to go to record shops and go thru the records. it's more tangible. i agree, this online streaming shit is killing music industry.. and if i read correctly big record labels are actually pushing Spotify??
Yep cause they're promoted by spotify cause of the ads when you've got the free version.
I use a lot spotify, i must say : this shit made me buy so much CDs.. from unknown artists, it's cool you can stream some tracks to know if you like the album.
I love Afrika Bambaata in part for being stark raving crazy. If I ever saw him I'd try to hug him. And when he'd get wigged out by it I'd still go with it. Peace to all of my brothers, sisters and visitors from places as yet undefined.

I like what he says about playing the old with the new. Reminds me of BFM, the only radio station bringing it real in New Zealand.
