An amazing player and a great ambassador for the sport in a market no-one thought it could succeed in. But as far as a leader is concerned, not really up there. Hatcher was a dirty fucker, no doubt about it, but people responded to him in a way that Modano never managed. In my opinion at least :)

That being said Hatcher's hit was aided by the push in the back, he has publicly and locker room stated that he was going to hit Roenick as hard as he could in payback for Roenick carving nine stitches just above Modano's eye the game before, but he did not intend to leave his feet or go head hunting. If in hockey you can't take it, don't dish it out.

I'm a Stars fan and no Roenick isn't an asshole. He is a hockey player who played to win. That being said Hatcher's hit was aided by the push in the back, he has publicly and locker room stated that he was going to hit Roenick as hard as he could in payback for Roenick carving nine stitches just above Modano's eye the game before, but he did not intend to leave his feet or go head hunting. If in hockey you can't take it, don't dish it out.
