@666TheViolator you didn't spell "to" right.... and alot of people care about what influences their favorite bands... I discovered some of my favorite bands after hearing some of my other favorites talk about the music they like during interviews
@paulosheathebassist Well you guys are great but you're no Napalm Death..... if you're gonna melt my face try to do it in a way that doesn't blatantly rip-off Slayer...
@Thanos700 The bass is part of what we call the "rhythm section". The drums and bass form a foundation for the other instruments to build upon. The bass tends to play a background role in thrash metal music. We often have sections where the bass plays a more prominent role though. Listen to the "clean" section of this song and you may hear what I mean.
Sounds alot like Testament's album The Legacy to me. Love these guys though, the band that was my gateway to all things punk \m/ Even if they're more of a thrash band. They need to reissue this shit..
@MetalMexa666 They were, the even have a similar solo from one that's on beneath the remains, but I'd have to search through a bunch of songs to find it.
@slantyrock i dunno, but i doubt that since hellbastard and sepultura were from different scenes, hellbastard emerged on the uk crust scene, adn sepultura on the brazilian metla scene.
@MetalMexa666 This album is from 1990, so lets say they were writing these songs between 88 and 90, they would have been listening to a lot of Sepultura, espcially Beneath The Remains as that was released in 87, listen to between 2:13 and 2:45 on Lobotomy by Sepultura, it sounds like a part of a song on Natural Order. I also hear some Slayer influence, there's even a bit that sounds like a part of Angel Of Death on this song.
@slantyrock beneath the remains was released on 89, on 87 they released schizophrenia but i think it was only in brazil at the time. also sepultura didnt get that popular till 91 with arise. slayer influence is more probable.
If you read the lyrics to any Hellbastard song, you will see that they are very political. And one part of being a punk is the ideas that they have in their head. To me, Hellbastard are punks that play metal. Which is what makes them such an amazing band.
I was given a copy of this album by Brian Newton the drummer and Ali Lee the guitarist. Both guys are good friends of mine The band used to drink in the pub I worked in while they were recording the album and I was the only person in the building to treat them like normal folk. So when they cut the album, I was given a copy and a t-shirt as thanks from the guys.
this is thrash metal...just listen... its their earache "mosh22" release a departure from there earlier "Heading For Internal Darkness" on Meantime and "Ripper Crust"demo which was true "crust" a big difference here, there is even a cheesy metal ballad..
this is crust u fuckwitt yank, this band were around in the crust/punk era of the eighties when u were still suckin ur mothers tit. so pipe down before i come over there and give u a couple of belts
WHO CARES WHAT THEY WERE LISTENING TOO! It is great music and it's 2011 almost 2012
