I really question the validity of these circumcision helps prevent HIV studies... I'd say look more into who actually did the studies and you'll find their may have been a bit of bias going on.
The study was conducted in Africa, some of the researchers have already admitted the study is founded on the confirmation bias - which means it isn't science. :P
Oh, I know where it was done and who the majority of the doctors were... there was a definite bias towards circumcision among the doctors. There was no real science involved. It was just a bunch of people that are pro circumcision making false claims or overstating shit.
seriously though, your studies show prevention via harsh genital mutilation... there are ways to flat out avoid it, though, without messing up your body. HIV would be gone in a generation if people followed my advice - if people followed yours, they'd have their foreskin removed.
The fly in the ointment is getting people to follow your advice. It was known in my mother's generation that condom use stopped the spread of disease. There are army films on the subject from WWII.
It hasn't worked and now the diseases are even more deadly than ever. And, people are more likely to have multiple sexual partners than ever. Any tool that we have in the tool box that can save lives needs serious consideration.
Circumcision is 60% effective which beats the hell out of nothing.
I really wonder if you would be for removing a part of your privites, as in the same thing that lets you feel more plessure...I wonder if you would be so BOLD then.
