Because the first one you can hear when valve timing has changed, while the second ones are always changing.Well, that's if I remember well... And yes, toyota and honda use completely different technology, but they both have the same effect. Increasing efficiency. (Sorry if there are any mistakes, i'm french canadian =D)

VVTL-i is a combination of LIFT (also know as VTEC) and Cam Phasing (also known as VVT-(i) )

Same in i-VTEC... they also added cam phasing

VVTL-i = i-VTEC

VTEC alone dont have the VVT-i in it

in motortrend they ran the new xrs auto at 16.1 on the 1/4. the old xrs 6speed ran the same. I would figure that both are slow. the old one is not a monster. 164hp is nothing to be proud of. Even the civic si is not fast. the power houses of 4cyl is the 260hp turbo cars.

The "NEW" 2009/2008 XRS Don't have the same Monster like 8000+RPM limit The 05/06 models were the best ones.

Toyota keeps cutting off the performance in everything. The 2009 XRS does 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and has a reline of only 6500RPM!

Time has changed.. and very quickly.

PPE Intake, PPE race Header, 2.5" custom catback, and Apexi PFC will give you around 190 whp (from 155 whp stock XRS). That's good for low 14s, 100 mph.

The new upgrade still being released is the DD performance Intake manifold that estimated to give additional 20-30 whp on top of the I/H/E upgrade. estimating 220 whp XRS.

Add stage 3 Piper cams and TRD high comp piston + race gas and it will become a beast.

U must have not raced against an xrs then.. trust me I used to own one and I could beat any new civic SI with just an intake only time i lost to the new SI is when i still had an intake and the SI had intake,full cat back exhaust and headers and he only beat me by 1/2 car.....Seriously XRS will always be underestimated but it is a cool fun car and I had my fun with it and the only thing i bought a STi was there wasnt much aftermarket support for the XRS.

If you don't rev high, you are not making close to 100hp per liter (non F/I)

Please. I smoke my co-worker's XRS with my 08 Si every time he tries me. Both of these videos prove nothing more other than the fact each driver had a bad start in opposite races. Yay.
