woah. There comes a time in life when we all have to pull our heads out of our asses and see that we're neither special or always right, and you my friend, have clearly missed the memo.
It really doesn't matter if he was right or wrong in saying you were going 85 or 81, because you admited to speeding regardless. You're not above the law, so don't take out your frustration of being caught on the people paid to enforce it.
Additionally, in California, the officer is not required to show you his LIDAR reading. This officer did you the courtesy of doing so. You are angry because you got caught and must now pay a fine. Anytime you speed, you run the risk of getting caught. Unfortunately it was your turn. There really is no room for complaint, especially when you weigh this one ticket against the hundreds of other times you did not get caught. Please, have some respect for officers, you may need help one day.
I must say the officer treated you with a great deal of respect. Your lack of respect calling him a pig is appalling. The speed limit signs up and down the freeway clearly inform you that your MAXIMUM speed limit is 65 mph. Even if you were driving 73 as you state, you were speeding. However, the LIDAR gun is extremely accurate and there is no confusing your vehicle with another as it points a little red dot on the vehicle the machine is reading.
Hahaha. You already lost your case admitting you were going 73 in a 65. Read the sign, it says MAX Speed 65, not 73. As for having to show you the "clicker" in California the officer doesn't have to, that what court is for. And by the way, it is against the law to tape the stop without letting the officer know that he was being taped. And you look like an ingrate since the officer treated you with a lot of respect. Pig? What is this? The 1960's and you are in the Black Panther Party?
Oh no you admitted speeding. You were going 73 in a 65? You shouldn't tell him that. But weird because it was as if he agreed that you were going 73 so why is he charging you for going 20 over?
@womanintheshadow I grew up in The Peoples Republic of California and got my fair share of tickets. The only thing that cop has to do (proof wise) is show up in court with his and you (should you choose to go to court and fight it) is to prove him wrong. I suggest you give it a shot. Many times judges take it as a good sign that you're in the right (assuming you have a good driving record).
@womanintheshadow uh no he doesn't have to show you. Most are nice enough to show it to you to put your foot into your mouth, but no officer has to. @auntdog, you admitted to 73. Busted. Your GPS, (As you also said, was AVERAGE 63 mph) Which includes your 5 mph out of your driveway. You MAXIMUM speed is what you should of read. I am sure it said over 85. You should of thanked the officer for being so polite and dealing with you.
@womanintheshadow "here"??? This takes place in California, not Canada. In California the Officer does not required to show you the radar or lidar. That's how it works HERE. In San Diego. Where driving at 73 MPH is SPEEDING and can result in a ticket. And where driving at 85 is also not legal.
The point was that I should have got a ticket for going the speed I was actual going not the bs he gave me !

You are so screwed....you admitted to 73 in a 65 max......66 in a 65 max is good enough for a speeding ticket..
Have you changed the wheels/tires on your car?
In our court if you are an ass to the Officer you are guilty by default...
Pay your fine and quit fucking whining

The cop was right. He doesn't have to show you anything.
That's what court is for.
IMO, this cop treated you with a fair amount of respect.

@jbpnw
that's not true. If you ask to see the clocked speed, they have to show you. At least that's the way it is here.

@womanintheshadow Nope. I work in this field, and I know for a fact that it's not required in California.
